The content in in BabyBug is great! My daughter loves it and asks us to read it to her regularly.

I wish the booklet was better constructed, though. A section came out shortly after it arrived and because of the way it’s put together it is hard to repair.

Overall, would still recommend!

The subscription is a gift to my 3 year old grandson. My daughter said it's a cute magazine.

I like the publications a lot, but....
The subscription process is not very smooth. When I request a gift subscription online, which is what I always do, I don't receive any confirmation by email, so I don't know if the subscription went through. A couple times, when I asked the recipients if they ever received their magazines, they said no.
I would like to have what you used to have, which was a card on that could be printed out from the website that I could write on and mail it to the gift recipient. Otherwise, they have no way to know to expect the magazine. It is months before the subscription actually starts, so the whole system doesn't hang together very well.

Ordered magazine in January only to be told the first issue would come in May. Then we didn’t get it (maybe mail error) and told they’d send the July August issue in the middle of July. Once I asked, they did say they could send out May/June again to arrive in 2-3 weeks. Fingers crossed we’ll get it. Customer service was pleasant, but it took several asks to get. The answers I needed.I wasn’t looking to get the subscription extended, I wanted the magazine I originally ordered.

They automatically renewed my gift subscription without my authorization. The email they sent was written as if they were doing me a favor by charging me again. I will never recommend a magazine subscription, no matter how lovely the content, when their distributor follows such unethical practices. Shameful. I implore you NOT to order a subscription from Carus Publishing.

I love the magazines we get. Every issue is great. I have some old ones from the early 2000s that show, although different, Cricket has kept the high quality and interesting themes. We get Cricket, the science one, and Faces (? the one about cultures)

I ordered the magazine in March. They said I would receive the first issue in May. I didn't get it. I inquired and they said wait until May 15. I wrote again after May 15 and they said it was too late and they would start my issue in July instead. I cancelled. Waiting 4 months for a first issue is too long.

I have a 30-year history with Cricket! I kept my sons subscribed for years (as much for my benefit as theirs) and passed the love on to three granddaughters who went through the Ladybug & Spider phases before Cricket. Two are nearly grown so only one still receives it but looks forward to getting it and shares it with step-siblings now. We all love the very "literary-ness" and beautiful imagery of it. But you want to know how my ordering experience was? Great! I was leery bc I've been subscribing through Amazon for a long time. I opted to start a new subscription rather than transferring because there was an address change. No problems - all done - all set for Summer reading!

The written material is engaging for a six-year old. The stories are well-written and I love the pictures. This is on par with Highlights for Kids' High Five. Would recommend.

These "magazines" are very bizarre. More like 5 short poems thrown together in a book. Would not recommend anyone spend money on this. The library is free and basically any other book is better then this.

Engaging and well-researched articles - great visuals - interesting themes - very educational

Took too long for my little grandson to get his first issue - ordered online. First magazine should have arrived within 2 weeks, not over 2 months. Kind of ruins the whole gift experience,

I was gifted a baby bug subscription when I was 2 and later, ladybug, spider and cricket. As an adult with my own children I find these magazines are still so sweet, clever and gloriously affordable. It is my new favorite birthday gift for little ones. I just renewed Babybug for my children and the process was quick and simple. No hold time or complications. My 3 and 1 year old get so excited to get the next one and typically memorize one or two of the stories by the time the next magazine arrives.

Cricket magazine has been providing engaging stories for young children for over 50 years! Their magazines are eagerly anticipated by all ages, parents reading to children, children just learning to read, and tweens fascinated by science.
A subscription from Cricket is my go-to children's gift as it's always a hit!
