Would buy again
I bought the Faithbox subscription as a gift for a family member. It was a hit! I didn't realize that it would make it an auto-renewal subscription, but was sent a reminder email prior to it auto-renewing which gave me time to cancel. I had also reached out to Cratejoy support to confirm all the boxes had been delivered and my subscription was cancelled. Support was quick to resolve my inquiry and all settled within 24 hrs. All in all it was a good experience, a bit pricey, but I believe worth it.

Had a few questions regarding my order. Both were immediately addressed and resolved. Looking forward to my granddaughter receiving her 3-month gift boxes.
AVOID CRATEJOY
Cratejoy has ESCALATED my dispute on several occasions due to my order not shipped from Debonair Scents, which was ordered and paid for in July 12th.
Customer support appears to be assisting, but each time I reach out, Zara or whoever, apologizes for the inconvenience and states we will escalate this dispute!
I understand they support vendors and aren't the actual sellers, but if a customer has multiple complaints about a vendor on their website, the customer's complaint should be resolved ASAP.
I've expressed my dissatisfaction on each email and requested a refund ASAP!
MY TIP...AVOID CRATEJOY AND ITS' SHADY VENDORS!!

Amazing customer service!
I was using Cratejoy to subscribe to "Writer's Block Box" for my daughter, and when I attempted to apply a valid 30% discount code, it was rejected and my credit card was charged the full subscription amount. I sent a message to Cratejoy support about the issue and literally within 1 minute I received a response from ZARA SMITH that they would work with Writer's Block to refund the 30% and within 10 minutes it was done! this was the most pleasant and efficient support experience I have ever experienced!
Ordered a gift for a Christmas present…
Ordered a gift for a Christmas present for my Mother and they continue charging my card, turning it into a subscription. When I never authorized. a subscription. I then asked them for a refund for the second time they charged the card without permission and they refused.
Watch out for auto-renewal
I ordered a 6 month subscription as a christmas gift for my niece. What I didn't realize at the time, was that the subscription is set for auto renew. They send a notice 2 days before the renewal was to be charged.
Which, I think is a bit short notice, because (as in my case), not everybody checks their email everyday.
I actually found out about the renewal when it hit my credit card.
I went to the site, and canceled right away... BEFORE the next kit shipped.
A refund is NOT automatic (unlike it auto renewal). I had to submit a request.
The seller gave only a PARTIAL refund.
What I ended up having to pay for was a service fee.
I suppose it was for the service of getting ripped off!
The company has a nice selection of subscriptions. But I will never purchase one again.

Won’t fix problems that are clearly on their end
While I’ve gotten the boxes I’ve subscribed to over the years, they were recently unwilling to help with a credit card issue. I was unable to change which card I was using on their site. I contacted them, and they said that it was something the seller had to fix, which makes no sense as it’s CJ’s site handling the charge. They communicated with the seller, who told them the same thing—there was nothing he could do, the issue was on CJ’s end. Their response to that was to just close the ticket. They made no effort to fix what was clearly their problem, although at least the CSR was nice and friendly as she did nothing… I’m going to be canceling and am afraid of how that will go now.
Do Not Order Through Cratejoy
I paid for a 3 month subscription to Therabox through Cratejoy on 3/26. Today 6/9/25, Cratejoy charged me another 3 month subscription. It has not been 3 months and I never received the 3rd box from my original subscription. This is actually the 2nd problem I have had with the same order. The Cratejoy rep is too busy finding emojis to add to her email to actually be helpful. Very convenient that there is no customer service number, see email below-

Been a cratejoy merchant for almost 10 years. Their customer service used to be responsive but now when I email support about important issues relating to their platform and affecting our business I pretty much never get any response.
CRATEJOY MADE THINGS BETTER BUT PLOT TWIST STILL MIA
EDIT 5/16/25 CRATEJOY MADE THINGS MUCH BETTER BY ISSUING A PARTIAL REFUND FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS OF MY SUBSCRIPTION. PLOT TWIST, HOWEVER, HAS REMAINED MISSING IN ACTION.
My daughter gave me a three month subscription to Plot Twist Book Box. First month was FANTASTIC. Second month, not everything was included according to a list they had enclosed with the order. My daughter contacted Plot Twist and she apologized and said she would send the missing things on the next shipment. Next month, my package included a book and a blank card with another card. I called Plot Twist and left a message that the things from the second month weren't included and I also asked if what I got in the third month was everything because it seemed a little less than usual. Never got a call back. My daughter contacted her and she wasn't contacted. I filed a complaint with CrateJoy several times and they really didn't seem to be too concerned or interested. They gave her multiple chances to respond to their emails. She responded once and told me that the reason the third month was less than the other two months was because she mailed a large print book and it cost her $5 more to do that and she hoped I enjoyed the bookmark with the tassel. I didn't get a large print book and I didn't receive a bookmark. I told her all that and she said she would send everything out to me that day and I would have a tracking number also that day. Never happened. CrateJoy did not stand up to her and make her fix things. My daughter cannot file a complaint with her credit card company because it's been too long. I would not have been "too long" if CrateJoy had not insisted on my patience while waiting for her to respond. Plot Twist refuses to refund the money because "you received the books". I may have received the books, but I did not receive everything that was promised. I also left a review on CrateJoy's website that has never been posted. Never again will I do business with CrateJoy or Plot Twist Books.

Horrible experience
I got an email from Cratejoy threatening to “renew” my 3 month subscription… which was just supposed to be 3 months??? I responded to the email asking to cancel, and got a response saying to go to their website. The website says it doesn’t recognize my email address, so I can’t log in and can’t change my password. Their customer service chat bot was utterly unhelpful and was like “glad we solved the problem!” when it did no such thing. It’s impossible to contact an actual human and I’m dreading having to deal with a chargeback on my credit card. I’m starting to think the whole thing is a scam.
