I personally had my transmission rebuilt by Cottman's of Durham. They not only came in under the quote, but my truck was ready a day early and has run like a dream ever since. The people are so friendly, they obviously see each other as family and when you walk through the door you too become part of that family. Since repairing my truck I have sent my Mom to have work done by them too. She is older and doesn't handle the pressures of car repairs and cost well. She has been treated so kindly both times she has gone in to have repair work done. They have been patient with her and thoroughly explained what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix the problems in a quick and cost efficient manner. They have impressed me beyond words. Like most people, my Mom is the world to me and to know that they have taken such good care of her and helped ease her worries along the way touches my heart. I would recommend them to ALL of Durham, they go above and beyond and if I could give them 10 stars I would, just know the 5 I gave was as high as I could go but they deserve so much more recognition!!!!!!

The way car care should be! Jody and the folks at Cottman were professional and a representation of how to conduct a customer focused business. They explained what was and was not wrong with my older vehicle. They offered suggestions about the next steps to remedy my car problems and when I should revisit Cottman. Being able to trust what a professional says is important to me, and I not only trust the folks at Cottman but respect the way that they treat their customers. I will gladly bring my car back to Cottman because I am confident that I will be treated right.

My name is Jacob and although I didn't actually have any work done to my truck I did have a very honest conversation with Jody about my 8 speed transmission for my 2016 ram 1500.Jody was very well informed about my transmission and explained a lot to me about it.He was extremely honest about my situation and in the end recommended me to NOT get any work done at all!! In my opinion that is the definition of honesty. I would have never known the difference unless he told me. Simply because of that I highly recommend this shop to anyone.

The manager, Jody, at Cottman Transmission of Durham, was very professional and kind! He explained the issues with my transmission, and even took me into the shop to visualize the problems. He recommended rebuilding the transmission, and not to go ahead with the transmission oil and filter change. He did not charge me anything, even though, they had to add a quart and a half of transmission fluid before they could take it for a test drive. I commend them all for their honesty and helpfulness during my first visit to their shop! Thank you and I will definitely be back when I have the funds available for the transmission rebuild!

Helped diagnose and narrow down problem with car, insured I understood what the issue may be.

It was a rocky start the first month after I had a transmission built it stayed in the shop but a little time and they got it fixed and I love the way it shifts I drive a 08 GMC Sierra 4x4

Put a transmission in August 2017 and have gone back 4 times due to transmission leaking and not performing sufficiently. This last time the GM was at the store and I told him what was going on. He told me the core was not working correctly and we started at the beginning. The GM said that he would start my warranty over for another year. I really appreciated that from him. His name is Jody and he was in the Durham store. Thanks a lot Jody for your help and patience.

I brought my car to them for a transmission rebuild. They gave me my car back the first time and a gasket blew causing my fluid to leak a lot, which burnt my clutch pads and probably damaged other components.They gladly took another look and replaced the clutch pads, and gave me my car back. Now I am driving it and it hasn't been even a month and I'm already experiencing hesitating, slow shifting, and slipping they're are slight but still there and still a major problem if not taken care of quickly and with precision which I feel this shop lacks the precision and attention to detail that is required for such a job.

Great customer service and I would definitely recommend cottmans to anybody great with helping me get my car taken care of and worked with me on my payments to get my care fixed and in way better shape
