I was permanently banned after about a…
I was permanently banned after about a year of being funded. I didn't break any rules. They said it was because of a discrepancy between their liquidity provider and CTI's internal technical team. I have nothing to do with any of this. If you make too much money they can ban you for whatever reason they want, it's basically an online casino and you will be banned for making too much money, as if you were a card counter. All the advertising about scaling plans is a lie, you will be banned not rewarded.

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Mahmoud Hafez from the Backend Team at City Traders Imperium.
Following a comprehensive review of your account (#2006305), conducted as part of your payout request assessment, we identified a persistent technical issue related to trade execution. Specifically, trades executed on your account do not generate the same results when copied to our Liquidity Provider (LP).
This matter has been thoroughly investigated and escalated over the past five months in coordination with both our Liquidity Provider and internal technical team. Despite extensive efforts, the discrepancy could not be resolved.
As a result, and due to the ongoing incompatibility with our execution infrastructure, we regret to inform you that your account has been permanently terminated in accordance with our internal risk management and operational policies. Please note that this decision also means you will no longer be permitted to open or purchase any future accounts with City Traders Imperium (CTI).
Payout Confirmation
Despite the account termination, we confirm that your payout request will still be honored. Your payout has been escalated to our Payments Department and will be processed as quickly as possible in line with our standard procedures.
We appreciate your time and understanding. This decision was taken after careful consideration and in full compliance with our internal policies.
Should you have any questions regarding the payout process or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact our customer support team.

Your termination of my funded account (#2006305) and permanent ban from purchasing any future accounts with CTI makes no sense.
CTI provided the MT5 account login details.
CTI chose its own liquidity provider.
CTI is responsible for its own internal infrastructure.
I have no part in any of this.
The fact that CTI has a discrepancy, is its own internal error and no fault of mine.
If CTI cannot do business with me due to its own internal errors, CTI has no business dealing with anyone.
The payouts are not sufficient enough to absolve CTI from any wrongdoing.
CTI advertised itself as a prop firm that equips you to win with a scaling plan and even the potential benefits of becoming part of the team for top performers. Yet CTI has sabotaged any chance of this in my case and undermined its own credibility.
I wanted to trade with a prop firm that does as advertised, not an online casino that bans me once I become a liability.
I would hope that CTI would reconsider this decision. I will be reasonable and wait for a response.
However I'm not impressed and quite disappointed with the account termination email I received.

We are writing to address the claims in your review with strict facts, as your characterization of our business as an "online casino" is factually incorrect and misleading to the public.
To set the record straight, here is the timeline of our partnership:
You have been a client with us since March 31, 2024. Between January 27, 2025, and January 31, 2026, we successfully paid you a total of $14,418 in profit splits.
We do not rely on client registration fees to pay other traders. We depend on actual trading performance on our Liquidity Provider (LP). As we explained in our email, we discovered a persistent technical discrepancy where your trades were not generating the same results when copied to our LP.
It is important to highlight that even when this discrepancy started to arise, and throughout the five months our team spent investigating it, we kept paying you. We continued to honor your withdrawals on time while we tried to fix the technical issue on the backend.
It is disappointing that during your time with us—while you were receiving regular, seamless payouts totaling over $14,000—you did not feel the need to write a review mentioning that we are a reliable company that pays on time. However, the moment we are forced to end the partnership due to unresolvable technical infrastructure issues, you accuse us of being a scam.
Even upon termination, we have paid you your final earnings in full, without any deductions. A "casino" or a scam would not have paid you $14,418 over the last year, nor would they have released your final funds after banning you.
We wish you the best in your future trading.

CTI is a pretty mid-tier prop firm, and I’m really struggling to find a reason why I should choose it when its competitors are simply better at almost everything.
Design is good, but it's rather a typical thing nowadays.
Price is pretty much in the middle. There are firms with a better price list.
Rules aren't ridiculous and somewhat fair, but other prop firms have better and much more flexible rules. A few hidden rules, such as that your stop must be placed 20 pips above/below current price(RIP scalpers and pretty much everyone who drags their stops closer to a target) and maintaining a 150% minimum margin level.(funny enough, CTI team will not tell you, that you breached this rule UNLESS you pass your eval. Tell me about wasted time. Was there, didn't like).And dear CTI team, just don't even begin with "they are all described in..." crap. Every firm knows perfectly well that people just don't read 40 pages long contracts. Rules must be clear and accessible. You have a page dedicated to rules explanation, and that's good, but those rules are not described there.
Support takes quite a while to respond, but they do try to help as much as they can. The lack of a chatbot for quick clarifications (like on FP, for example) is a bummer.
Also if you decide to work with CTI, be careful with "One-Sided Bets" rule. Basically, they can deny trader a payout if trader placed many sells or buys in a row. How many exactly? Nobody knows. How is this connected to any "bad" behaviour? Hell if I know. If market moves in one direction for a long period of time, you shouldn't trade, I guess. At least CTI team thinks so.
But again, why would you even trade with them? Just go with the top 3 firms(or any big one at this point) and be happy, because CTI does absolutely nothing better than average top-tier prop firm. If anything, they do it worse.

The 20-Point (Not Pip) Stop Loss Rule
First, to clarify a quick but important detail: the rule actually requires the Stop Loss to be placed 20 points away from the current price, not 20 pips. This is a significant difference! Furthermore, this is not an arbitrary rule meant to target scalpers; rather, it is a direct requirement from our liquidity providers. It is a widely known industry standard, and 20 points is a very small, manageable distance to allow trades breathing room while managing risk.
The 150% Minimum Margin Level
This rule acts as a necessary safeguard to protect traders from blowing their accounts in just one or two over-leveraged trades. At CTI, our ultimate goal is to build relationships with long-term, consistently profitable traders, and proper margin management is a core pillar of that longevity.

We completely agree that rules should be accessible, which is why we do not bury them in 40-page contracts. The "One-Sided Bets" Rule
There seems to be a misunderstanding here. We do not penalize traders for trading in one direction while a market is trending in that direction. We only flag accounts that repeatedly open positions in one direction for extended periods regardless of what the market structure is doing. Every flagged case is analyzed manually on the charts to determine if the trades were based on sound market analysis or if the trader was simply relying on "hope" rather than strategy.

Evaluation Reviews & Notifications
Because of the sheer volume of accounts we manage, it is logistically impossible to monitor every single trade of every account in real-time. Standard practice is to conduct a comprehensive review of a trader's style and rule adherence only when they have passed an evaluation phase or requested a withdrawal.
Customer Support & Chatbots
While we are sorry to hear you experienced a delay, we generally pride ourselves on having one of the fastest and most reliable support teams in the industry. Regarding the lack of a chatbot: this is a deliberate choice. We strongly prefer providing real, human support, as we’ve found that automated bots often cause more confusion for traders dealing with complex, account-specific queries.

Comfy drawdown rules
As a swing trader, my trading strategy is very sensitive to many of the rules that are now prevalent amongst prop firms, the chief of which is the drawdown rules. CTI is one of only 4 firms that I know of in the entire industry that uses balance based drawdown which makes me very comfortable here. Also, they use Sumsub for KYC verification and which is another plus for me.
