City Sightseeing New York Omdömen 

I bought a 3-Day flexible pass to have access to 6 attractions and the hop-on hop-off bus. I'd bought it before and I knew what to expect (and I wasn't disappointed).
In general the experience was quite good. The only 'negative' thing was having to go to the ticket counter to redeem our vouchers every time we wanted to enter anywhere. We didn't know it at first (we weren't informed at the visitor center) and it took us forever to figure out where we were supposed to go, or what we were supposed to do to be able to take the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. The people on site (at the ferry - not City Sightseeing employees) weren't exactly helpful. But after that first confusing moment, the rest of our experience with City Sightseeing was great: the buses ran on time, they took us everywhere and the guides were good.

Suggestion: they should save some paper and use some sort of cards. The way they give you the vouchers is quite inconvenient.

Good way in bus but without understanding comments about NYC because in american language. This is why our opinion is average.

Great way to see New York. Takes a lot of time to get from one attraction to the next.. Give yourself lots of time

My experience was excellent with the tour. I would totally book this tour again.

The tour goes all over some really good options, definitely need a few days worth.
Not enough buses are always quite busy and sometimes wait half an hour for them. Tour guides inconsistent- some were great others rubbish

Quality of commentary of the tour guide has worsened over the last few years.. guides now explain more about restaurants rather than the locality and heritage.. rather switch to recorded guide.

Our second experience on Downtown tour had a young man who spent most of his time hanging around young girls(and his zipper as down!)

We booked the 48 hour tour for the 26th and 27th October. Since it was very cold, 8 degrees Celsius, we addressed the friendly staff in advance. We were assured that the double decker buses are suitable for this. During the journey, we had to realize that despite the tight winter clothes it was too cold on the open top deck. It was not windproof as the friendly staff promised us in advance. That would be half as bad as it would not be cold in the lower deck. To our astonishment we had to notice that the windows in the lower deck were covered with foil. You could see nothing! We can not understand why a sightseeing bus makes the windows opaque. Also the sound-guide was miserable, the headphones were too quiet, one of the plug on the bus had a wiggle contact. The quality of the spoken info was very bad and unprofessional.
The outdoor advertising is more important to the company than the view for the customer from the bus. The result is the impression that the company is only interested in selling tickets and not doing so and not making the customer happy with the product.
We have not continued the trip and expect full refund! Our lost time and the bad impression they will hardly be able to make us good again.

What a great opportunity to revisit some old destinations and new. Comfortable upper deck, great live commentaries. Not enough time to view all in 48 hours, but still a great trip. Book 'on line' with vouchers being redeemed at the Port Authority or directly from Sales team at all stops.

I found the tour loops way too long and the traffic in NY is unbelievable therefore it's a little unsuitable for those who want a quick glimpse of New York

Also it is very difficult to do proper hop on hop off as the buses take long and most places are busy

I did not like the aggressiveness of some tour operators in asking for tips

.What could be improved:
1. It is difficult to understand why, once you buy the tickets on the internet, you need to make a queue also to an office, where are printed the tickets.
2. The routes of the buses and of the cruise route are never crossing.
3. More clear indication of the stops would be necessary.
4. The persons working as guides on the buses are amateurs.

The staff at the pick-up/drop-off locations were very visible, friendly and helpful. The routes were interesting and well-organized. Rachel, our guide for the ferry route, was exceptional - enthusiastic, well-spoken, very knowledgeable, and professional. Some of the other guides were not focused on the tour, too concerned about stressing the importance and suggested amount of tips, and sometimes very difficult to understand. Directions for finding the next bus, or the ferry location, were not clear.

I recommend this to everyone I talk to. It's such a great deal and a great way to see a lot of sights in the city.

In my overall experience I'd say that it was ok, not excellent or great, there were good things but some others that didn't worked that well for example they provide you with a set of headphones for you to listen whatever the tour guide says, however this is the only cannel that Works, the channels they say that are available in other languages is not available.
They don't make all the stops and sometime they get off route.
I was expecting to get into the last bus that was heading uptown in NYC and they said that the last bus went out at 5 pm however I have waited since 4:30 and it never came by.

It was hit or miss because some of the tour guide speakers had such strong accents that the speaking through the microphone into the headphones was very hard to understand at times.

We were sold the wrong ticket in New York for the 911 museum. When we got to the museum we were told the ticket was valid there, only for the memorial. We had to pay another $50 to get in.
When we went to the City Sight Seeing office to get our money back and we were told it wasn't their fault because it was a street vendor that sold us the City Sight Seeing Ticket. We were Told to write up a complaint and we would be contacted within a week. After a week we didn't hear back so I emailed. Still no response over 3 weeks later
