Chef Akila’s Slow-Cooked Curries Omdömen

It's was really good only quantity is less.worth buying.

Authentic taste Not oily

Lovely fresh curries. Love the idea of arriving fresh and mostly microwaveable for convenience.. I’ve had two deliveries so far. I do feel they are expensive although the packaging and box they arrive in is excellent quality. There are lots yet for me to try. My favourite so far is the chicken biryanis. The village curry was tasteless and was extremely mild.. I will say it’s extremely generous with meat in all dishes. Il continue to order in the future

The description of authentic food provided online is correct in one sense, but, totallyi misleading in another.

By this I mean that thete is no doubt about the quality of the ingredients - It id about how they are combined together which changes the texture and individual nuances of individual flavours.

Essentislly, all three meat dishes ( 2 x chicken, 1 x Lamb) consist of equally sized cubes of meat which are incorporated into a thickish 'soup - like" mixture. The odd spartan slither of onion was included.

This means all ingredients were at some point blitzed in a food processor, no doubt for the reason they defrost at the same time - and at a faster rate than the larger frozen meat cubes when cooked for the 40 - 45 ninutes in the oven at home.

The taste was that of a blended mixture with no variation of flavour notes ot texture - other than the isolsted 'icebergs' ', of meat.

This is clearly an adaption made for frozen food for home delivery. The spices were under scored and lost in freezing which took any taste or smell aromas from the dish.

Frankly, I was disappointed, and would rather buy and freeze a Waitrose or Marks & Spencer Curry which in my view are more authentic.

For this reason I could not justify another purchase.

the food is the best indian l have tasted since holidaying in Goa genuine flavours spicy but not burning hot
quality meat no more takeaway after this
l have recommended to all my friends
fast efficient delivery

The food quality is good but they have competition on line. Some of the competitors produce good food as well and some are cheaper.

The meals are fabulous

Food is great, thanks. But after our 1st delivery date and 1 hour time slot was notified 4 days in advance, I expected a similar delivery notification. But in this instance I wasn't notified of our delivery time slot until the actual date of delivery.

These arrive on time by DPD, still fully frozen , ready to go in freezer. Excellent curries.

I adore your curries. They are as if I have a chef in my kitchen.

Prompt delivery
Tasty food-value for money
Only wish-hope you get your internet service in order!

Really love these curries. Great they are low in fat as that’s what I really dislike about takeaways. I can have a treat without piling on 3lbs! The prawn curry is to die for.
Delivery was great. Ordering very simple.

Always good

The curries tasted like they have just been cooked rather than been allowed to simmer overnight prior to freezing. They could do with a little more salt and spices. The simmering would allow the meat to become more tender.
I don’t for one moment believe anyone will take notice of me. My dear wife cooks delicious curries handed down through her parents.

The food was very tasty will be ordering again

Quality ingredients, portion size a bit small for 2 people to share, 1 curry was packaged incorrectly so received potato side rather than the chicken biriyani.
But enjoyed what I did receive.
I did have loads of chunky cashews in some dishes, great for hubby but I picked them out lol, just my preference.

Authentic taste, delicious choices and great sized portions, perfectly prepared and from frozen to the table it was easy to provide a lavish spread for guests

Lovely food, very tasty and just the right level of curry.
