Not Worth the Headache
Billing and payments are the most important pillars of your organization. So when something goes wrong, it shouldn't take a week to talk to a person. We have had issues with the system, and support is either nonexistent or doesn't even understand their product and provides incorrect information.
The worst part... we're a paying customer. We pay every month. Chargebee is our biggest regret. Put in the extra time to integrate Stripe directly, or choose another billing management solution. Chargebee may look good on paper, and it may work correctly for the first couple of months, but eventually you'll start to see issues, and support is no where to be found.

Their Customer Support has gone through some significant changes of late where they have attempted to implement much more automation and done an incredibly poor job at doing so.
It could be the platform they are using but it has made it increasingly difficult to get prompt answers on issues

Solutions Team? More like Problems Team.
Every time you try to deal with Support (for even the most basic request) you get endless, unhelpful advice. It takes hours to get anything done, and the product breaks all the time.
It's a case of building something huge and complicated that doesn't work, instead of building something simple that does work, and getting the most basic functionality right.
On top of that, Support are just hopeless at understanding your problem and providing a solution, on the most fundamental level. I can't tell you how many "solutions" they've given me that don't even remotely match the problem I'm trying to solve.
Works great for our SaaS business
We've used Chargebee for our SaaS business for 5+ years and the service and support has been excellent. It's probably the service I'm most satisfied with out of all the ones we use.

Could be better... I am not entirely happy with this tool. It is not very intuitive.
Bad Reporting, Buggy SaaS Metrics, Poor Experience.
Bad reporting, complete lack of accounting procedures, this is a mess. The SaaS metrics ain't working properly too.
Do not onboard with this platform, you will get stuck with a buggy and messy billing system.
They try to upsell every reporting even the accounting ones, we are on the $599/month plan and we still don't have access to fundamental accounting reporting.

Disillusionment...
French, happy to have found a nice partner for recurring payments by Stripe, with a free plan (but they also win), I select this plan to register, I enter my data, but in fact we are redirected to something to show us a demo, adapted to our bunsiness, and get us called back. Personally I come to open my account, it is not so that after that one tells me and well no, it is a demo that we give you and we will see later for the account. A fake registration page. Short : Au revoir.

Its 100% a bait and switch nickel and dime you play. The test account you have everything works. As soon as you go to prod every single feature you want to use cost more and more. They "give" you features you dont need and anything worth while is in a higher tier. Your support agent will never get back to you. Choose someone else before you get started.
Continue to bill customers after cancellation
Morale of the story: If cancelling, ensure all subscriptions are cancelled correctly!
When using the Chargbee service as an active customer their support service is relatively good. They dealt with some of my stranger requests well. The billing side of things also worked well.
However, after I left I ran into major issues. Before closing my account I checked that all subscriptions were cancelled and nothing was active. My account was closed and I no longer had login access. A few weeks later, I get a notification from Stripe telling me they had been charged for a subscription via Chargebee!
I have contacted the support team several times and had a single reply. I'm worried they will charge the card again at the next renewal date (that I had cancelled). It's been over three weeks and still no reply.
I would try billsby. Same product, better pricing and support.

I used chargebee for my garments website. The customer support was terrible. everytime I had an issue, I had to call the team multiple times and would get redirected. Regret the choice and I dont recommend chargebee.

Chargebee started as a good product challenging Recurly. But as times goes on their super weird pricing policy will get the best of you.
Their representative explicitly lied to to us to get us on a higher pricing in order to get his bonus and then you are stuck with another representation trying to get you to pay even to get his bonus aswell for the same feature that were promised earlier by someone else.
Their management really needs to train their staff better & decide on a pricing policy that aligns interest (fixed or variable -- you can have it both ways! )
First chance we get, we get away from this scamming company!

Wow, its shocking to see how these many bad reviews for this amazing company, not sure if I'm using the same chargebee as they are! My experience with them for last 3 years has been nothing but amazing. They have always provided amazing customer support and the sheer amount of features they are providing puts other similar services to shame.

This company is a scam. Go with any other company - please.
As you upgrade plans, they increase their overage fees. This makes absolutely no sense as a business model.
If you upgrade and pay more monthly you would expect to get a discount on overage fees, yet this company wants to squeeze the maximum amount of money out of you.
They also false advertise that they only charge overage fees on revenue.
This is a lie.
They take into account every invoice created.
So, if a customer starts a purchase and doesn't go through with it till the end you are still paying chargebee for that.
This is not a partnership, it is robbery. I don't know who runs this company but they are not in the business of creating a happy strong user base. They are around to make a quick buck.

Stay Away from Chargebee ...The customer service at this company is horrible. First the invoice system does not automatically charge the cost of the invoice, then you contact their support (they only offer online chatting) and they just copy and paste the answer. I have been with them since they are integrated with our software but I am going to switch because they are making me loose money and the support is not there.
Support is painfull - Avoid Shopify and Chargebee Integration!!
Wow, the support is really hard work. It is going to be a major headache for us to move to another billing provider but in the long run it would be better. I recommend using recurly as the support is U.S based and a whole different level compared to Chargebee.
I was waiting for the Chargebee/Shopify integration and at last, they released a plugin and I went to work to follow the instructions only to find all is not what it seems. Unlike other payment gateways / retail finance or recurring plugins, Chargebee basically just updates the orders in Shopify nothing less or nothing more. You can not actually have your customer's checkout on your Shopify site with Chargebee Hosted Pages or some type of button on the product page to subscribe. I spoke to the support agent Samuel (which was hard work we went around in circles for a long time) in the end Samuel concluded the advice for Shopify Integration with Chargebee is to simply build a new website and not use the Shopify website for the front-end, use the Chargebee Drop-In Script so users order on a custom bespoke website outside of Shopify and it goes to Chargebee which then, in turn, updates Shopify,,, then what would be the point in having Shopify at all?
This is the most pointless plugin I have come across it has no purpose whatsoever.
