This company should not be allowed to operate as home emergency provider. I have had their woeful service through my RBS black account, my elderly parents through Natwest black account and more recently my tenants through Simply Business. Gross incompetence and mis diagnosis and handling. This company should be permanently closed down. I am relieved to see the black account no longer offer home emergency however would kindly ask the Watchdog or any organisation to look into their handling of cases, with health and safety issues at stake.

Great service when our Boiler stopped working. Engineer arrived promptly at the agreed time and after his efforts we were left with a working unit. Thank you.

I had a broke window lock and they came very quickly and replaced the lock. The person who came was polite and efficient.

Had a major water leak. Was told an engineer would come but nobody showed up. I called back and was told somebody would be on their way and again nobody showed up in the end. I had to get an emergency Plumber. there was substantial damage.

This insurance company should be recommended for a fair home insurance price.
Also I called Monday morning to report an overflow in my roof space and a plumber called same day and fixed the leak.

Very efficient. 'Jack' came out within an hour of my call. He got straight to the task of investigating. He put dye down various assets, camera'd the drains and found a 'belly' in the underground pipework that was retaining water and whatever else from flushing the toilet. He checked that all was flowing freely before he left and advised possibly lining a small section of the pipe to eliminate the belly if the problem recurred or persisted - all while being very informative and sociable. Thank you.

*Laughable response from CET! They are still washing their hands of any wrong doing, nothing has been addressed. The financial ombudsman is going to have a field day with you lot*

If you expect a home emergency provider to leave your home in a safe, competent state, look elsewhere.
​We called CET for a central heating leak on our first-floor landing. Their contractor replaced the section with copper and a push-fit fitting, but left the floorboards resting directly on top of the pipework instead of the structural joists. As a result, every single footstep across a high-traffic landing caused the floor to press down and flex the new joint.
​When we immediately raised the issue, CET's initial stance was dismissive: the leak stopped, so our job is done.
​After we pushed back with clear video evidence of the pipe flexing under foot traffic, they sent a second engineer instructed to simply "clip it down." That engineer inspected the job and confirmed the obvious: it cannot be clipped down and requires proper re-piping.
​Instead of taking accountability for rectifying their contractor’s substandard workmanship, CET washed their hands of the issue. Their excuse? "Re-piping falls outside the policy remit." They conveniently ignored the fact that the only reason re-piping is required is because their own contractor left a defective, structurally loaded hazard under the floor.
​Substandard workmanship that treats plumbing as a structural floor support.
​Complete unwillingness to take ownership of a botched repair.
​Hiding behind policy exclusions to avoid fixing the damage caused by their own appointed engineer.
​CET has left us with an unacceptable risk of a concealed leak in an area that has already failed twice. Avoid CET if you value quality repairs and basic accountability.

Rang them three times regarding a wasps nest and three times a pest controller came out to treat the nest, can't fault CET operators, they were professional and friendly and dealt with the matter quickly. Have previously rung with a drains problem and that was also dealt with expeditiously.

The gas boiler was inspected, and an attempt was made to repair the fault. However, following a thorough assessment, it was found that the boiler is beyond economical repair and cannot be reliably repaired.
The engineer carried out the necessary checks and made every reasonable effort to rectify the problem. The work was completed professionally, and I am satisfied with the service provided.
According to the terms of my Home Emergency Policy, CET has confirmed that I may be eligible for a contribution of up to £500 towards the replacement of a new boiler.
Which i need to provide the replacement boiler invoice/receipt and any other required supporting documentation to support my claim.
Recommendation: Replacement of the existing boiler is advised.

My situation is ongoing and began on May 25th. The date is now 18th August and I've still not been reimbursed for the money I ended up spending as I had to get an emergency plumber to come and fix the problem as this stupid company took 6 days before anyone was able to fix an emergency leak. They were going to travel at least 150 miles on a sweltering evening, and would not have got to me until gone 9pm! Our local plumber was back from his dad's funeral by then so he made an emergency call out the next day. After travelling to buy the part and arriving at my house, the problem was eventually solved. But because I had to pay some of the money in cash and some by bank transfer, (I didn't have enough money in my bank account) they are refusing to reimburse me. I should have allowed the plumbing company to travel 150 miles to come and fix it because then CET would have had to pay the maximum of £500 to fix the problem instead of £240. But because I felt sorry for the engineer who would have had to drive a return journey of at least 300 miles on a sweltering evening, I refused and told him to go home to his family. I've never disliked a company as much as I do this one. Awful, awful company and when I reinsure my house, I shall ensure I don't take out a policy where anything remotely connected to CET is involved. Steer clear of them.
