No hot water, mice in rooms, insufficient food
The facilities are old and in desperate need of improvement.
When I arrived, there was no hot water for three weeks, and the sisters were unable to provide a timeline for when it would be fixed. Some rooms had poor to no wifi access, although thankfully I didn't experience that because the router was outside my door.
The food provided at breakfast was good, but at dinner the amount provided was insufficient and I was always hungry afterwards. Since there are no cooking facilities available, this required me to either go out or eat snacks from the supermarket, which really hurt my wallet and health.
Mice are frequently sighted at the TV room and the bedrooms, and the sisters' only solution was to get a cat. When I brought this up, the sisters just dismissed me and said "Every building in DC has mice indoors".
I asked if - in light of the circumstances - I could move out immediately and the sisters insisted I needed to pay two weeks notice, but then tried to encourage me to move out earlier (while still paying!) so they could rent out my room to someone else and earn double rent for a week.
I moved out one month after I arrived. My new place as well as all the other houses I have since visited in DC have regular access to hot water, good wifi and absolutely no mice indoors. Because I don't constantly have to eat out or have supermarket snacks to feed myself, I am actually saved a LOT of money by moving out of the centro.
I don't recommend this place at all. You can get a better equipped, more central place by paying $80 more per month and you will still save money because you'll end up spending less on food and transport.
