Founded by Valentin, a business education consultant with an MSc in Business Management and nearly 20 years of experience in hospitality, Cask to Task brings together two worlds that rarely meet properly: structured learning and informal enjoyment. Alongside his academic and consulting background, Valentin has spent years working hands on with whisky in premium bar environments, guiding guests through whisky choices, tastings, and conversations every day. Cask to Task was created to address a common problem in the whisky world. Many people are curious about whisky but feel intimidated by traditional tastings, technical language, or the fear of asking the wrong questions. These experiences are often aimed at experts, collectors, or long time enthusiasts, leaving newcomers feeling excluded. The approach at Cask to Task is different. Tastings are designed to be approachable, social, and story driven. There is no expectation of prior knowledge, no pressure to like everything, and no judgement. Education happens naturally through clear explanations, humour, and real stories rather than lectures or jargon.
