Escribí por WhatsApp preguntando sobre el tour de Playa Blanca y Barú porque quería algo tranquilo sin mucho movimiento. Lo que me sorprendió fue la respuesta de Maria al día siguiente, muy detallada, explicándome exactamente qué incluía cada parada, cuánto tiempo pasaríamos en cada playa, incluso me advirtió que llevara protector solar porque el sol en Barú es intenso. Le hice como cinco preguntas más sobre horarios, transporte y qué comer en el camino, y contestó todas sin apuro, sin presionarme a reservar. Se notaba que le importaba que yo supiera bien en qué me estaba metiendo, no solo que firmara la reserva. Cuando le pregunté si podían acomodar un grupo de amigos con preferencias distintas, Vincent se metió en la conversación con soluciones prácticas, sin decirme "no se puede". Eso es lo raro hoy en día, encontrar una agencia que tome en serio las preguntas antes de partir. La organización se veía clara desde el primer mensaje, sin sorpresas ocultas, sin letras pequeñas. Todavía no hemos hecho el tour pero por cómo me trataron antes de reservar ya tengo confianza de que el día del viaje va a ser igual de profesional. Eso es lo que buscaba.

I don't understand the earlier negative…
I don't understand the earlier negative reviews, they're absolutely not representative of our experience. We booked on the website and then messaged on WhatsApp, everything went smoothly on the day of the activity (5 Islas tour), and comparing prices it was the best deal. A really good agency.

Ojo con esta compañía, es una estafa!!!!!
Contraté un tour al volcán de Totumo desde Barcelona en mayo para realizarlo en agosto, todo fue muy bien para realizar el primer pago, la comunicación fue fluida.
Nos decantamos por esta compañía porque al parecer tenía muy buena puntuación en Google, pero supongo que está puntuación es artificial.
Normalmebte en los tours, las agencias te contactan unos días antes para confirmar el tour, la fecha, hora, lugar de recogida, quien será el/la guía y la matrícula del vehículo....
Con Cartagena Tours no recibimos nada y por eso nos intentamos poner nosotros en contacto un par de días antes, aquí comienzan los problemas....
Mensajes de WhatsApp que no llegan, ahora ya solo tienen un tick, hasta el pago sin problemas y rápido....lo intentamos por mail, y viene rechazado, por teléfono y no responden...
El día del tour ya suponiendo lo peor vamos al punto de encuentro, no sabíamos si habría alguien o no, preguntamos a todas las agencias que están en el lugar y ninguna tiene nuestros nombres, incluso llaman ellos al número de Cartagena Tours, ninguna agencia local los conoce, y no logrn contactar por teléfono... Nos hemos quedado sin tour y sin dinero.
Mandamos un último WhatsApp diciendo que vamos a la policía a poner una denuncia... Y mientras estamos haciendo el trámite en la policía de turismo (que nos dice que esa empresa no está registrada como tal en Colombia) recibimos un mensaje de la agencia por otro número de teléfono, indicándonos fua y hora de recogida .... El día era ese pero la hora ya había pasado.... Les contestamos rápidamente que estamos en la policía de turismo para poner la denuncia por no cumplir con lo contratado y les enviamos captura de todos los mensajes enviados y las llamadas realizadas.... En 5 min nos llama una agencia local y nos dicen que me acaban de pasar nuestro tour....
Finalmente podemos hacer el tour 1h más tarde de cuando se nos dijo.... Pero estamos seguros que si no les hubiéramos comunicado que estábamos haciendo la denuncia, no se hubieran puesto en contacto con nosotros y no hubiéramos hecho el tour y por supuesto no nos habrían devuelto el dinero.
Así que mucho cuidado con esta compañía... Por lo que hemos averiguado es una empresa de Francia que tiene varios dominios como este de Cartagena Tours, como Dubai Tour... Asi que cuidado.
Se publicitan como agencia sin intermediarios y lo único que son ellos son intermediarios, que desaparecen en cuanto tienen el pago.
Respuesta editada: Está es la respuesta a su contestación:
1- enviamos 2 mails para comunicarnos también por ese medio, y vinieron rechazados.
2- visitamos su web y los datos que aparecían eran la dirección de correo que nos vino rechazado, y el número de teléfono y WhatsApp que según ustedes ya no era operativo, si no lo era porque seguía apareciendo en su web.
3- aunque hubieran cambiado su número de teléfono, tenían nuestro pago y nuestra reserva y es su obligación ponerse en contacto con sus clientes para darles las indicaciones de encuentro... Y nunca lo hicieron.
Es decir hay omisión por su parte de su responsabilidad, y por la nuestra nos hemos intentado poner en contacto con ustedes a través de todos los medios de lus que disponíamos.
Y ya por último, fue en la policía de turismo donde le enviamos un correo a esta dirección que ahora nos dan, volviendoles a solicitar información y confirmación de que nos iban a prestar sus servicios, así que ya está hecho el trámite para que realicen su compensación.

I wish I had seen an honest review like this before booking.
Unfortunately, Google recommended this place and showed it as a safe option. Based on my experience, the large number of positive reviews on their website tricked the google algorithm and that’s how they get you.
This place felt like a scam. They advertise their services using pictures that did not reflect what we actually received, overcharge customers, and the overall experience was completely different from what was shown online.
The bus service, boat transportation, and beach accommodations did not feel safe to me. The conditions were nothing like the pictures or descriptions used to advertise the tour.
What made the experience even worse was what happened afterward. When we contacted them to complain and try to resolve the situation, they stopped responding.
I would not recommend this company. Please be extremely careful and do your own research before booking.
I would also think twice before booking tours to Barú in general. The beaches have become extremely overcrowded and overexploited by mass tourism. It was honestly very sad to see what has happened to such a beautiful place.
I wish I had known all of this before going, which is why I’m leaving this review for other travelers.

Sentimos mucho lo que viviste ese día y entendemos tu molestia.
Lo que ocurrió: entre tu reserva en mayo y la fecha del tour en agosto cambiamos de número de WhatsApp. La línea anterior quedó desactivada, por eso tus mensajes se quedaron en un solo tick y nunca nos llegaron. El número vigente estaba y sigue estando publicado en el sitio web, y también aparece en el correo de confirmación de tu reserva. Aun así reconocemos nuestra parte: debimos avisar directamente a cada cliente con reserva ya confirmada del cambio de línea, y debimos contactarte antes del tour para confirmar hora y punto de recogida. No lo hicimos y lo lamentamos.
Situaciones así las tomamos muy en serio, y por eso insistimos en un punto: WhatsApp no es el único canal. La dirección responde por correo electrónico todos los días y no nos llegó ningún mensaje tuyo. Un solo correo habría bastado para resolver esto en minutos, sin la angustia de esa mañana. Si nos dices a qué dirección escribiste, lo revisamos con gusto.
Sobre lo que dices de nuestra empresa: operamos en Cartagena desde 2022, con miles de pasajeros atendidos, y no hay ninguna estafa. Trabajamos directamente con nuestros guías y conductores, sin ningún revendedor entre el cliente y nosotros, y esa es justamente la razón por la que podemos ofrecer los precios que tenemos. Tu tour se realizó y tu dinero no se perdió, aunque salió más tarde de lo previsto, y eso no borra las horas que pasaste buscándonos.

Booked a tour to islas rosario by bus to playa blanca and by boat to islas rosario.
In the bus the tour guides told we did not go to islas rosario, because it was danger, and the oceanarium is only a aquarium.
They had an other offer. 3 atractions for 35000 cop a person mas
At playa blanca apeared people as tour guides and later asked commision
We did go by boat to locations nearby.
The first a 1/2 hour snorkling,then a 1/2 hour to animals eating out your hand,and to a little stone beach for 10 minutes,then back to playa blanca
That was it.
This is selling a tour online and later change the program and take money from unknown tourists!
The advise is: do not buy tours on internet,only at a existing travel agency.

One important clarification first: the 5 Islands tour does take place inside the Rosario Islands archipelago. The snorkelling stop, the fish feeding point and the small beach you describe are all located there. What is not included is the Oceanario, which is a separate attraction with its own entrance fee, sold on site and never part of the standard tour price. If the way this is worded led you to expect an Oceanario visit, that is on us and we are reviewing the wording of the page.
On the boats: Cartagena has a limited number of licensed boats authorised to sail to the Rosario Islands, and they are shared across every agency in the city. Any traveller booking this excursion, with us or with anyone else, ends up on the same boats and the same route. We do not resell through intermediaries, we book and coordinate your day ourselves, which is why our prices are what they are, but we do not control sea conditions or the boat operator's on-the-day decisions.
On the people who approached you on Playa Blanca asking for a commission: they are not part of our team and nothing beyond what you booked has to be paid to anyone on the beach. Never hand money to someone who cannot identify themselves as your guide. We will raise this with the operator.
We handle several thousand bookings a year in Cartagena. The large majority of travellers who have a good day never write about it, so public reviews naturally over-represent the small number of days that go wrong. That is exactly why we want to hear from you directly rather than leave this here.
Please write to contact@cartagena-tours.co with your booking name and date, and we will look at compensation. It matters to us that you leave Cartagena with a better memory than this one.

Very bad experience
Very bad organisation. No English speaking tourguides. The meeting was for 8 but we left at 9:30. We had to wait for 90' with no water under the sun. The return time was 6:00 but we returned at 4:00 in order the boat to get other trips for sunset. The organisation was extremely poor. We didnt get what we paied for. Very bad experience

Our guides on this excursion do speak English, it is part of the service and it is confirmed at booking. If communication was difficult on your departure, tell us the date and we will identify the guide, but the tour is not operated without English-speaking staff.
On the departure time: pick-ups run in sequence across several hotels and meeting points, and a group arriving late delays the whole vehicle. Our buses and boats are ready at the scheduled time, but waiting 90 minutes in the sun is not acceptable and we are reviewing how we handle late arrivals so it stops falling on the people who arrive on time.
The return at 4:00 instead of 6:00 is on us. You paid for a full day and you did not get one. We have raised it with the boat operator.

They are a scam
They are a scam, I booked a jetski ride. Arrived at the location, it's a random beach. No jetskis on site. Found the guy eventually and he said we had to take a taxi with him to another beach. We did then arrived and there are still no jetskis and said we had to wait 30 minutes. I asked the price it was much more than was advertised. And not including the deposit already paid. So pretty much one big scam. Do not book with these guys anything! Order #21097
