I was really looking forward to receiving my daughter's Year 1 class photo yesterday, but what a disappointment. The print is blurry and the colours are muted. It looks like it's been printed on a cheap desktop printer at home.

I emailed the company, they told me they had checked the original file and there was no problem. I asked if they could resupply the print using a better printer and on better quality paper. They said they had checked their file copy and were satisfied with the print quality.

They apologised but essentially their response was a shoulder shrug, they are not accepting any responsibility. They made no attempt to remedy the situation for example by offering to send a replacement print. So either their quality control is no good or they're happy to send out substandard prints.

I have been happy with the standard of the individual photos they've previously taken of my daughter at nursery and at school, both times I've downloaded the jpg, albeit for an expensive £20. On those occasions I got good results by using different companies who care about the end product. Even photos we've taken on our phones and have had printed for free by online firms are better quality with sharper detail and brighter colours than the poor offering from Cardwell & Simon.

I've also sent a complaint to the school, I can't be the only dissatisfied parent.

We were so impressed with Cardwell and Simons when they came to take our Year 11 end-of-year group photo. The whole team was incredibly organised, professional, and made the process run smoothly from start to finish.
A special touch was their suggestion to create a short moving photo/film of the group, which ended with with party poppers. This was such a lovely keepsake and was made available to parents via a QR code at no extra cost, which was a wonderful surprise.
The experience was seamless, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the final results were fantastic. We would definitely recommend Cardwell and Simons to any school looking for a professional photography service.

My child had their school portrait taken, but I never received a QR code or any other access details needed to view and order the photographs online. As a result, I have been unable to place an order.
I contacted your customer service for assistance, expecting that this could be resolved. Instead, I was told that nothing could be done from their side. I also found the manner in which I was spoken to to be dismissive and unhelpful, which was very disappointing.

Disappointing format and poor compositionI am very disappointed with the group school photo options. Offering only a 12"x5" format is highly unprofessional. This size is way too large and completely impractical, as it makes it impossible to fit the photo into a standard family album.The issue stems from poor framing and staging. Instead of a long, single line, the children should have been arranged in 3 rows. This would create a much better, classic proportion and allow for a smaller, standard print size. I hope the company considers this feedback and adjusts their layout approach for future school photo sessions.

Would highly recommend Cardwell & Simons, aside from them taking amazing photos of my children, they also gave me perfect customer service when I wanted to change some photos in my order.

Cardwells & Simon’s have been doing our school photos for years, and they consistently deliver a great experience. This year, we had Zoe as our photographer, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly kind, patient, and made the children feel completely at ease, which really showed in the photos. It’s not always easy working with groups of kids, but she handled everything with warmth and professionalism. We’re very grateful for her wonderful approach and the lovely results.

Amazing customer service helped me with a missing photo to complete my 17 years of saving school photos !! Have used them privately too with great results

Our school has used Cardwell and Simons for a number of years for our grandstand, tutor group and individual portrait photos for secondary and Sixth From year groups. We are extremely pleased with their professionalism and how fast they are able to get through the sessions. They are very happy to accommodate any last minute changes or requests and are very helpful in sorting out any issues. We look forward to working with them in the future.

I emailed to ask about the possibility for a slight amendment to a group photo and Aviv superimposed a headshot from another picture onto it. You wouldn’t be able to tell! We were really impressed!

My sons school uses this lovely company for their photos and we find them to be very reliable, competitively priced and offer very good quality products. We’re very happy to use this company every year to purchase fridge magnets, pictures, cups etc that they produce with the children’s photos on.

We have been using Cardwell and Simons the last couple of years and they are amazing. Easily contactable, friendly and always on time. Our Parents love the photo's, and its all easy to check and order on line.

As a school who book Cardwellandsimons year on year and we have always been really happy with the service. We always get the amount of photographers we request, they arrive on time and set up is really thorough. Photographers are speedy throughout the day and we never fall behind schedule (considering we have 1400 children to photograph). I think the system for viewing proofs is easy to use for families. Staff (Aviv especially) responds to my email queries very quickly and we always get the dates we want for the following year booked in easily. We have always been happy with this company and will continue to book every year.

you guys are joking right! 2400x3600 resolution, 1mb downloaded photos for £20 per photo. i mean 8mpx camera?!?! why didn't you make 320x240 just so you could have a laugh? i was hoping for at least some decent 20-30mb at some decent 18-20mpx resolution! you deserve zero stars. You're welcome and enjoy your holidays in bahamas with these prices...

Had bad experience with them before, now I select free delivery to school and yet in the checkout it adds delivery fee for £5..... absolute shambles, not sure how they can still operate with this kind of business ethics...

The photographer was absolutely fantastic at getting my 1 year old to look and smile, he was a natural and had my son laughing his head off.
To try and get all 3 of my children to look, smile, and pose for a relatively nice photo is IMPOSSIBLE! You have achieved this for me!
I am thrilled to bits with all of the photos, it was so hard to narrow it down to just a few downloads. I now have 3 beautiful photos of my children I can keep forever and share with family.

I ordered several prints and only half the order was delivered. Upon querying this with them they refuse to admit they made an error and insist they sent the full order. The prints cost a lot and their self entitlement and lack of service is appalling. They know that parents will always spend money on prints and have no respect for their customers.

I’ve always found my sons photos to be great, he goes to a special school and it’s very hard to get his attention and to actually look at the camera so even to get one good one is great! Managed to capture a lovely one this time round which I will order. Also communication with this company is brilliant as I accidentally lost the code for my sons photos I panicked but was quickly sorted after a email and given the code to access them 😊
