I have been buying since they opened…

I have been buying since they opened this year. But, can’t wait for my last pickup, to wipe my hands clean of this business. I have spent a few thousand since open. Long stories short… Every single electronic I’ve purchased, even “ appears new” has been broken, or, flat out doesn’t work. They really don’t check the merchandise. I live well over an hour away, so I wait and combine my won auctions, to do one pickup. This puts auctions past the 7 day mark for returns. I have even had pick ups booked, and, it’s past the pickup day rule, and they just put it back! No word, no heads up, nothing. You drive over an hour and it’s not there! They should honor if u have a pickup scheduled, but, no. And, watch your credit back to payments because they miss a lot of items to credit your account, but say it’s too late. They act like the computer does it, and, therefore they can’t, get it back or do anything about it. Do they honestly think people are that dumb?! Plus working out of town, 60+ hrs a week, with 2 hr commute each way on top, I don’t get to open a lot of my boxes right away, and, I’m not exaggerating when I say, most every item I’ve paid high dollar, or even not, is broken! JUNK! If you are on here to decide if u want to do this, DONT! Unless you have money to throw away. Unfortunately, live and learn. I have lost well over $1000 in broken, or items I never even received. I’d count how many it says I’m picking up, but, I never counted my WON auctions, and am missing SO MANY things!! And, when they recently put back several items because it was after their date, yet, I had a pickup scheduled, that they didn’t flag, or say one single thing, and, it wasn’t there?! Last straw. It was beginning to be last straw anyway. Good riddens Buywander.

Stuck again trying to pick up at Buy Wander

I have purchased several times through the auction site and the pick-up rules and guidelines change weekly. Their customer service doesn't recognize this as an issue and if you come from out of state, it's a real issue, after trying to deal with customer service I finally gave up and asked them to just return everything I had already paid for because they were not concerned about resolving this issue. Best of luck to anyone trying to resolve an issue

SCAMMERS DONT GIVE THEM A CENT!!!! Had 400 items $600 worth of stuff. Canceled half of it emailed them about a bulk pick up they said it would be figured out it was not did not hear back and they canceled half my stuff and took my money. Went to pick up the other half of my stuff and they confirmed it was scheduled waited 2 hours for them to tell me they canceled the other half so out of $600 items. If you have had them do this to you please message me. Got sent to customer service who said there nothing I can do email corporate who has done nothing to fix any other issues I have had in the past. They sell broken stuff and claim it as new, have photos of items and you get blocks of wood instead, then wont return it because it doesn't match photos.

Colossal waste of time and money

Terrible experience but they do send polite emails to tell you their policy doesn't allow them to provide quality customer service.

I was sold 15 stair treads and got some funky rug with a glue backing. The hair dryer I purchased could have easily been determined as junk by the quality control. I trusted it was working as suggested but it's all broken up inside. The smoke fan is broken; the turntable doesn't work either and the plant is a joke. I haven't opened the cushions but I'm not hopeful at this point. The whole reason I made this purchase was for the furnace box that disappeared and nobody was willing to try locating or willing to call us when it was located (not their policy).

The warehouse guy that first helped disappeared and later found out he left. The next staff was nice but also trying to go home and wouldn't look for the missing item.

The scheduled pick up took well over an hour to get checked out (after my scheduled time) and I was early.

My mistake was I didn't look at the items until after the return window. There was nothing good with any of the times I purchased. Pure junk. Never again.

It was a colossal waste of time and money.

This place is horrible

At first I really enjoyed buy wander, I enjoyed getting things for a good price, the rush of winning something is always fun, and then that all changed. We started getting "appears new" items that you would have to be blind to think they were new. Items that were missing needed parts or flat out weren't the items that they said they were. We once got a bonus by buying an outdoor bench that turned out to be a beautiful outdoor table and chair set. Unfortunately, these issues very rarely are in the customers favor. We started getting told items were missing when we went to pick them up, we kept things and bought the missing parts, we missed return dates, which is 7 days from the auction win, not the pick up. We threw multiple items away because the cost of gas to take it back was more than the refund, but in general we were still enjoying it. Then it gets better. One day last week I went into my account and it said I couldn't bid on anything and to contact them. I called the local office to be told that I was banned because of a fraudulent return, wait WHAT?? They told me to reach out their customer service, which I did through FB messenger. I was informed that an item that I had returned a while back, and they just got to processing the return, was flagged as fraudulent because the item I received and the item I returned were either not the same or something was missing...please refer to the above mentioned prior experiences here. I asked for the item information and they didn't know, I asked for the pictures, they didn't have them. I called the local office again no one returned my calls. I went to the local office and no once knew what item it was about. Again multiple times I was told they had proof of my "fraud or theft", but they couldn't produce it. Today I get a message with the item that was supposedly fraudulently returned and their picture of the item sold. Their picture of an unopened box and the pictures they pull from the internet showing you what is supposed to be in that unopened box. They can't send me pictures of what I returned to them, or at least they won't. They have stopped returning my calls and refuse to provide any additional information. From a company who takes pictures of items from the internet, expects a lot of grace when they get it wrong and absolutely can't get it together using words like fraudulent, and intentionally took something out of the box before returning it, I am disgusted!!!! If you decide, after reading these reviews to use this company. Make sure to open everything at pick up, I noticed most people do, expect not to get everything you thought was in the box, expect to drive to the location and be told they lost the item you paid for, and absolutely take pictures of everything you pick up and return. They are liars, deceptive in their practices and then turn it on your when they decide to. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was bad enough that other customers deserve to know what to expect.
The first issue happened on June 9, 2026. I had a confirmed pickup appointment scheduled for 6:15 PM, which was clearly confirmed by text message. I left early and spent approximately 50 minutes driving to the location, arriving around 6:00 PM.
As I arrived, employees were placing cones and closing off the property. When I informed them that I had a scheduled appointment and showed my confirmation, I was simply told:
"We're closed."
No explanation. No apology. No notification by text, email, or phone call. Nothing.
Their website indicated they were open until 7:00 PM, yet they scheduled customers for pickups and then closed before the appointment time without warning. They wasted my time, fuel, and an entire evening.
Unfortunately, things got even worse.
On June 11, I had a rescheduled appointment at 5:15 PM. This time the facility was open, and I arrived on time. However, the level of customer service was shockingly unprofessional.
Two employees were sitting at the check-in desk fanning themselves because of the heat. I completely understand that it was hot outside—I work outdoors myself. But instead of acknowledging customers or providing assistance, they completely ignored me as if I wasn't there. They continued doing their own thing, eating chips at the desk, and only afterward asked how they could help me.
After checking in, I waited approximately 30 minutes past my appointment time before my order was brought out.
Then came the unbelievable part.
The staff informed me that they could not provide my complete order because they had LOST THE SOFA that I had won in their auction.
Yes, they actually lost it.
They listed the item, accepted bids, sold it, scheduled a pickup appointment, made the customer drive nearly an hour, wait on-site, and then casually informed me that they had misplaced the item entirely.
This is one of the most disorganized, unprofessional, and poorly managed companies I have ever dealt with.
If you value your time, expect basic communication, and want to do business with a company that respects its customers, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Careful…some good deals but, with caveats.

Careful.

I spent crazy amounts of time on their winning 27 auctions and just went to pick things up and my pick up time had been changed to June 1 and I live 35 miles away.. so I’m looking at an hour and a half time and $20 in fuel for any trip down here. The return time is only a week from the time of the auction so the clock is ticking for your returns the day you buy it not that they pick it up.. then if you live 35 miles away and you see that something is not new and it stated it was new. You have to weigh your time your cost of fuel to go clear back to Buywander to do the return… a major screwup on their side they took video of my pick up time notification showing that it didn’t update on my side. The NEW pick up time was past the “RETURN DATE” of several of my items…Too many bloated prices that aren’t real. Too many items that say new or like new that aren’t. Some good deals, but I vested too much time to drive clear down there only to tell me there was a “Glitch” in the system. I told them to NUKE all 28 purchases! I’ll pass.

Unreliable descriptions

I've made only a handful of purchases and 3 of the items were marked as 'appears new' despite clear signs of use/wear or item didn't work or have all the parts. Otherwise, website is easy to use (though bid attempts are frequently very slow to submit) and on site SLC staff are efficient and helpful.

Just trust me...don't waste your time…

Just trust me...don't waste your time or money on crap other people return for a REASON. It's broken, used, dirty and gross, or missing parts, or just plain doesn't work. I was refused a return because it fell on a Sunday when they were closed. I've also "won" bids and went to pick up only to find they "couldn't locate" the item and I drove that far for nothing.

STOLEN GOODS


I I tried to activate a phone I bought from Buy Wander, and they would not activate it because they said it was STOLEN!!!!!!!! And even then, Buy Wander would not give me a refund!!!

Buyer beware !!

Buyer beware !!! Company advertises: "Meticulous inspection by our staff" This is bullshit!!! I purchased a 240V compressor, I had to hire an electrician to install which put it beyond the 7 day window for return and the compressor did NOT work. I contacted Bywander for a refund at day 8 and they won't honor a refund stating it's beyond their 7 day policy. Problem here is Bywander did NOT meticulously inspect the compressor and sold it as a piece of JUNK! The worst customer service I have ever experienced!

Mini-split scam?

I had been bidding on ductless/minisplit hvac system for my customer for a few weeks. I finally won a complete 12k heat pump and inverter system that "appears new". At pickup, it was just the indoor head/inverter - no heat pump/outdoor unit. After much arguing, explaining, frustration, I accepted a refund. My refund actually proved that my purchase was for the complete system - Sarah just kept saying "sorry, it was described incorrectly, there's nothing I can do", even though they said the heat pump portion was, in fact, there in the warehouse. According to the dock guys (2 of them), they guaranteed that no customer has received the entire system as advertised and they are all being returned. I see today, they are still listing these for auction, knowing that it is totally false advertising!?
I drove my pickup a total of 326 miles at 10 mpg specifically to pick up this mini split system. The other items would easily have fit in the saddlebag if a motorcycle. The fuel alone cost me triple than my car wiuld have. Not to mention a full day off work, and the loss of the job. As an HVAC contractor, owner/operator, I'm easily out $3k+ over the whole ordeal.

Buywander in Portland Oregon …

My Buywander location is in Portland Oregon.. All their employees are very friendly and helpful. But I wanted to give a Shoutout to Mo.. that oversee the employees.. She is an amazing! And Leah that is out talking to all the shoppers and getting them checked in. Always has a smile on her face.. And then there is Josh that brings out the carts and carts of products..Another employee that is friendly and professional.. even after continuing pushing heavy carts and delivering them to your car..He running a 100 mph! They are so appreciated.. for their hard work!
