We purchased a Scout Electric Tricycle from Buy Tricycle 5 or 6 years ago,
Recentley the battery lock/support bracket disintergrated, contacted BuyTricycle to obtain a replacement assembly, not only did they have one in stock, they sent it out the same day all free of charge.
Excellent customer service. Highly recommend

I ordered an new e-scout electric folding trike. It seemed very good value for money. It arived promptly. I had a quick check of the parts needed and noticed the chain was missing, they sent one to me very quickly.
It all went downhill from there.
There is alot of assembly and the instructions were very poor. I found a bike mechanic to complete the build and several problems occurred.
Brakes, gears all needed to be attached and set up.
The back brake cable was faulty and the mechanic replaced it.
The gear disrailler was missing the bolt that attaches the cable.
There were chips and scratches in the paintwork.
One of the rear mudguards had a dent in it.
I queried if had been sent out before and returned.
Most importantly it did not fold up! The mechanism was jammed and could not be freed-up. This trike needs to be folded so I can get it indoors, it has to be kept out the front of my property.
I have contacted the company - 2 more emails and their on-line cotact form. I have described the problems asked for some compensation as it is not as described . No response! I hope they are just busy. It is a shame as this is a very nice bike.
7th october.
Still no response. This bike is too long to store indoors. It was sold as a fold up bike which is not. I have to keep it outside - not secure and cover insufficient to protect it from the elements. I now have to buy a bike storage type shed to keep it in. This will cost me £200 approx. I have informed the company that I intend to start court proceedings and given them time to respond. The goods were not as described. My alternative is a charge back as the bike was bought on my credit card. I do hope they respond before I have to this.

First: The tricycle looks absolutely beautiful and feels amazing!

It doesn't tip sideways, the basket is big, the headlight is bright, the matte blue finish makes me want to just look at it more, the folding is a simple yet sturdy mechanism (it lets you roll the front wheel all the way back to the basket, reducing length)...

The LCD display and electronics even have features I did not expect: The ability to Bluetooth-connect the bike to an app with navigation map and speedometer on the phone (not tried yet), choice of language between English, Czech, German, French, Italian and Spanish, the ability to fine tune your level of assistance, and a "motor boost" flap on the handlebar to get your movement started. It looks like the display supports showing remaining battery distance range too, but that (and only that) I did not get to function (probably not supported by the battery).

Also, the bike came with a handy multitool thing for assembly which was much appreciated, and everything was well packed.

ALL THIS FOR A PRICE THOUSANDS OF POUNDS LESS THAN THE COMPETITORS, SO I THINK WE SHOULD GIVE THEM SOME SLACK! I really think this is a small business trying to do right by keeping local manufacture alive and delivering old style service, plus affordability, and they deserve respect for that.

I'm actually still a bit baffled that I was able to get all this for such a relatively cheap price. I would not have been able to afford this from anywhere else.

Now, regarding the bad reviews:

I get it, because I also experienced delays. I had to preorder, then shipment was delayed a couple of weeks further (first by them, then because DPD wanted a PID-number/fødselsnummer), and then DPD = Postnord kept the parcel in Amsterdam for over a week. Buytricycle blames the delays on problems with suppliers in China, and it's NOT JUST BUYTRICYCLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM: I also experienced huge delays with stuff from Aliexpress which could not be sent from China during the same time frame. I think it's because USA blew up a huuuge dam in China causing massive flooding; a really big news story which seems to be censored both here and there.

When the bike had finally been shipped, the DPD website tracking was pretty useless, as their Norwegian language website (Postnord) just showed that it was cleared by costums in Amsterdam, while the English language website (DPD) showed that it was held in costums in Amsterdam awaiting more information. After a week of this I emailed BuyTricycle, they nagged DPD for me, and the bike was finally forwarded and delivered to me at my home. For the end delivery, the driver tried to call me mid day to see if he should even bring the parcel with him on his truck. But somehow he had been given a UK phone number, not mine. BuyTricycle apparently got contacted, and they sorted it out by giving the driver my phone number and e-mailing me that he was trying to reach me. I was then able to convince the driver on the phone to make a second trip the same day, and I got the parcel delivered to my door at a perfect time for me that afternoon. These couriers are generally hopeless, it's not BuyTricycle's fault (although they might want to figure out the phone number issue).

The parcel was missing the advertised seat back support and the bike lock cable, but I emailed BuyTricycle and without question they said they would send them to me. I do not mind this at all, because as compensation they offered to refund me the import/toll/VAT duties which Postnord/DPD charged me after delivery, which was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise! Especially with how little I paid for the bike to begin with.

Regarding costumer service: Yes, they didn't reply to the live chat, and yes sometimes I had to send a reminder e-mail to get them to respond. But these guys are clearly hard pressed and over worked, trying to deliver an outstanding, handcrafted product at a miniscule price with tiny profit margins. In the end, everything was resolved, they were always friendly and helpful, and I got a beautiful, excellent tricycle for seniors. So give them some good will!

I dont like to leave negative reviews but I feel like I need to warn people about this company.
I pre ordered a tricycle for my son in March, it was to be delivered 30th of June.
Delivery date arrives and I get an email saying that there's a delay and it will be here for 12th of July. OK things happen.
13th if July arrives - no tracking info. I emailed, called, direct messaged over a period of several days with no response. Finally get a hold of someone on the 16th who was very rude throughout the communication and told me it was being dispatched that day. 2 days later, still no tracking info .... same process. Spoke to someone who told me I was getting a free helmet for the delay and it would be sent that day. Long story short it arrived after many stressful conversations with very rude people on the 24th.
It arrived bent, scratched, breaks didn't work and without the helmet.
Tried to speak with the company via email, direct message and phone. Again no response.
Please do not give this company your money

Avoid this company at all costs. I am three weeks late on a delivery and no contact. They do not answer the phone, web chat or emails. I suspect they are a fake company, set up to take payment for products that never arrive. That, or just incompetent

I purchased a tricycle from Buytricycle and unfortunately experienced very disappointing customer service. When a clear product defect appeared, I contacted them with photos and a detailed explanation. Despite this, the responses were slow, unclear, and did not address the actual problem. Instead of offering a proper solution, they shifted responsibility and left the issue unresolved.

A company selling mobility products should take customer concerns seriously, especially when safety and functionality are affected. My experience shows a lack of accountability and support, and I cannot recommend Buytricycle based on how my case was handled.

Edit to add that the problem has been rectified but it shouldn't take 10 weeks, 2 emails, 1 online communication form filled in, and a bad review to get a response.

Ordered a trike that wasn't as described, parts missing. Emails and messages have been ignored. Wouldn't recommend.

Habe am 9.03.2026 ein Fahrrad bestellt. Am 10.03.2026 aber die Bestellung aus persönlichen Gründen wieder storniert. Vom Verkäufer keine Reaktion. Auch auf mehrere Anfragen keinerlei Reaktion vom Verkäufer. Der Kaufpreis wurde bis zum heutigen Tag auch nicht zurück erstattet, obwohl inzwischen PayPal den Fall übernommen. Finger weg von diesem Verkäufer! In meinen Augen ein Betrüger.

The bike is nice but i paid extra for upgraded tyres. It arrived with the cheaper tyres. Cannot get an answer on the phone...answerphone, no reply to my message sent via the website, have now e mailed. Looking at other reviews, i will be surprised if i get this sorted. Shame really, a simple reply and resolution would have got them 5 stars. Next step will be a dispute process via paypal. If you buy from here, make sure you have some sort of buyer protection like a credit card etc.

Excellent, l am so pleased with my tricycle. It looks absolutely wonderful, better than l was expecting and it's a lot bigger too. Well worth every penny that l paid for it. Everything that you need is there and even all the washers, screws, etc are all packed in their own bags and also labelled so you know where they go which is fab. I would definitely recommend this trike to anybody that is looking for a really well made tricycle. Colour and design are lovely. Packaging and delivery was fab.

I ordered and paid to Buy Tticycle for a tricycle on July 27. It was handed over to DPD UK on July 31, and since August 8 the tracking has been stuck with no updates.
I contacted Buy Tricycle four times asking them to request a parcel search, but they completely ignored me. Without the sender’s action, DPD will not investigate, so I am left with no tricycle, no refund, and no support.
This company is unreliable and untrustworthy. They take your money and refuse to take responsibility when problems occur.
Warning to future customers: avoid Buy Tricycle at all costs.

After numerous attempts to contact DPD UK, they finally asked me to provide the parcel details. Their response was that my information did not match theirs. They refused my request to start a parcel search and advised me to contact the sender again. For the fifth time, I asked Buy Tricycle to request a parcel search from DPD UK, and once again they ignored me.
DPD UK then again refused to initiate a parcel search. I cannot understand or accept DPD UK's refusal to search for a parcel at the recipient’s request, especially when the sender refuses to make that request. This shows a complete lack of responsibility from DPD UK towards the customer. Such behaviour only enables possible fraud, which—even if unintentional—is still a criminal act.
Due to the complete disregard shown by both Buy Tricycle and DPD UK, I ended up without my tricycle and lost 386.33 EUR.
Beware of Buy Tricycle and DPD UK.

An absolute disgrace of a company, zero communication.

Email: no reply (three emails, two direct and via website form)
Live chat: absolute joke (an hour and no response, nothing live about it)

Ordered with 4-5 day delivery option, order stayed on processing, no communication for nine days so PayPal refunded.

Stay away from these, they are trouble.

The imaginary email you sent hasn't shown up yet (no spam, nothing), the imaginary courier wasn't seen on our real cctv system, and the imaginary tracking number wasn't provided, very strange!

Terrible attempt to blame the customer, shame on you.

Ordered in June and original delivery was supposed to be 4th July. No delivery, complained and eventually told 13th July. didn't happen. No reply to phone calls or emails. Avoid like the plague as customer service is shocking. Trying to get refund but will probably have to go through credit card company.

Mijn order zou 4 juli bezorgd worden maar dat gebeurde niet. Na email kreeg ik een excuusmail het zou nu 13 juli worden. Daarna heb ik niets meer gehoord en kan geen contact meer krijgen. Dus tips aan dit bedrijf: wees eerlijk, houd contact en betaal mensen netjes hun geld terug als je niet kunt leveren. Ik had naïef genoeg altijd een hoge pet op van de Engelsen, weer een illusie armer.

Where to begin, this has been a total nightmare and their lack of any form of communication is ridiculous.

Placed an order on 7th June for an item due in stock the next week, to date, still waiting on delivery (22nd July), I was told after 20th June, it would be delivered around 30th, then on 8th July, told it would be delivered 13th July.

Since then, total silence, they have not responded to any emails, any chat messages, any calls or forms sent from their website, just complete blackout. Last hope would be someone actually reads this and gets in contact.

Just for their complete lack of updates and communication it has to be a 1* review, I don't mind things being delayed, I have accepted every delay they have advised me about and said as long as I know about it, it is fine, but how long can this go on for?

Ich habe vor 2 Wochen bestellt und warte immer noch auf die Lieferung, welche angeblich innerhalb von 4-5 Tagen ankommen soll. Auf keine meiner Nachfragen (weder per E-Mail noch per Kontaktformular oder Chat) wurde reagiert. Ich fühle mich einfach nur übers Ohr gezogen! Werde nun eine Rückbuchung des bereits gezahlten Kaufpreises in bei meiner Bank in Auftrag geben.

I recently upgraded to one of their electric tricycles, and I’m loving it. The 250w motor gives just the right boost, and it handles really well on the road.

Ordered on eBay on 30th June with expected delivery in 2/3 days at latest by 6th July. When not received by due date and having received no communication from company that order had been dispatched or delayed I messaged them 3 times through eBay with no response. Have tried to contact them on the phone no quoted but voice message says there is no one to answer your call & advised voicemail full. Message also advised you email them or use live chat on their website. There in live chat option avl on website. Given that website & eBay site currently show all bike colours are out of stock except green the colour I ordered the company either has supply issues or Worse. Order at your peril red flag raised.

Terrible company order and paid for trike on 24th April via eBay . No delivery or refund or no communication !?
