I filled out an online request for a quote. Phone number was required. I immediately started getting calls from subcontractor companies. Dozens of them. I believe Budget Van lines makes money by selling your info, not by actually being a moving company. Planning a move is stressful enough without a bunch of unwanted phone calls.(And some them sounded like flat-out scams)

They will spoof local numbers to try and call you if you put in your information to get a quote. Shady!

I'd have selected HALF A STAR if it were available.

Well, I guess there's a first time for everything.

I just got hung up on by a Budget Van Lines rep at 866-960-3074 at about 1420 hours (2:20 pm) Eastern time Wednesday 8 Oct.

This rep said DoT requires a written inventory list in order for him to give me an estimate.

Hmmmm.

I've had recent interactions with three or four moving companies to whom I've sent as email attachments pics of items here in my condo, and I've received estimates from all of them, no written inventory from me required.

The rep was pushy and impatient.

After going back and forth with the rep about my trying to get a quote and the rep trying to pin my down for a number [trying to create an anchor, I would think], I said something along the lines of, "Well, I don't think it's gonna work out," after which the rep just hung up.

Now, I've got my big boy pants on, so my feelings aren't hurt; this is business.

But ... this is why I shop around: to invest a little bit of time to learn which companies are -- and aren't -- worth my time.

I recently spoke with one of the representatives from this company over the phone about getting a price estimate to set up a move. They transferred me to another company they partner with called mission van lines without letting me know. Everything else that happened after was the fault of the other company but Budget van lines should inform customers they are being transferred and their business contracted out to other companies. At the beginning of the conversation and throughout the conversation with this other company I politely told them I was shopping around for quotes and the rep on the phone told me I was broke because I didn’t agree to put down a deposit with them today. He was extremely rude to say this and I doubt calling potential customers broke is a great way to get their business. I have every right to shop around to compare quotes and I would hope this behavior isn’t a part of the training or ethics of the company and if not he should be retrained to speak with customers with the same level of respect they provide him. I was very calm and polite on the call with him and at no point raised my voice. After telling him I wanted to shop around more than 4 separate times he would not take no for an answer and continued to beg me to make a deposit over and over which was a red flag. He got increasingly more upset and decided to insult me instead of accepting no and I had to end the call. If this is who your company contracts its business to how could I trust you to handle my belongings in a move? His behavior was unacceptable and based on other reviews I've seen from this company it seems that insulting customers is a tactic reps from this company use to bully people into giving them money. I’m glad I didn’t fall for it!

The movers themselves were great, but they were from Nori Logistics. Shame on me for not researching Budget Movers better, I did not realize they were just "brokers". The quote they gave me and led me to believe was off ALOT. The day of the move and the "movers" gave me a different amount altogether, like 2.33 times higher. I was between a rock and hard place. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU.

DON’T do it. You’ll want to read this! I kept getting texts to book with them… I would respond ‘NO’ to their system, block the number and I’d get the same text from a different number. Just wait for it. I called to ask them to take my number off their list. And this is the response I got: “Oh you’re a Karen aren’t you. Why would you call just to ask that?” And then he hung up on me. If that doesn’t make you laugh and infuriated then I don’t know what will.

It's a SCAM. Within minutes of entering my information I received non-stop SPAM calls, they will not get my business - they already made money selling my contact information.

Dear God do NOT put your information on this website for a quote. I thought it was Budget truck RENTAL and entered in my info and now I've had round the clock harassing phone calls and texts from moving companies. AWFUL SCAM!

I told him it was more than I was looking at from elsewhere and got off the call.
I was texted
"Cheap an ignorant. Have fun ....driving"
Wow if that isn't great customer service.
Don't fill out the form.
Run don't walk.

As soon as I filled out the free quote form, I was immediately hit with multiple emails, phone calls and requests for more information which were dubious at best. If you don’t want spam via calls, text or email stay far away from this “service”.

I had a full-service move with them,
they did what I was looking for,
everything was great,
movers were kind. I'm recommending them.

Don't rent from Budget! They left me stranded on I-5 in the middle of BFE Oregon! Not ONE person we called helped us and we made SEVERAL calls! The van is STILL in Portland as I had to PAY for a tow from Eugene to Portland! The van is STILL sitting in Portland after many calls to Budget for them to pick it up! We have it until tomorrow but not ONE person from Budget has called back about it. I hope it's towed and impounded because Budget deserves their own karma!

DO NOT REQUEST A QUOTE FROM THEM, THEY SELL YOUR CONTACT INFO TO EVERYONE UNDER THE SUN. I HAVE RECEIVED 78 SPAM CALLS AND TEXTS IN THE LAST 48 HOURS. SHAMEFUL COMPANY.

I contracted with Budget Van Liness to move my items, however when movement date arrived, the subcontracted driver increased the pick-up price and demand another $866.14. Total out of pocket cost for a move that never happened $1465.69. I have written the company about this concern.

I signed up for a moving quote, the terms and conditions were fine print and blurry, but I thought this was a good company so I gave my phone number and requested a quote.
Now I'm getting calls from scammers like 2movers. I called Budget to find out why and was informed the unreadable fine print included a statement that my information would be sold.
I'm, so far, unsuccessfully attempting to work my way up the chain of command with Budget to obtain the purchaser(s) of my information
Do NOT request a quote from this company. I rechecked the quote portion of their website, they have no offering for opting out of having your information sold. This is bad business, a dishonest way for the company to make money, and, in my opinion, puts them in the position of conspiring to commit fraud on both state and federal levels.

DO NOT USE BUDGET VAN LINES IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR BELONGINGS.

I hired Budget Van Lines to facilitate moving from North Augusta SC to Los Angeles CA, pickup on 8/8/2021. I had a 1 bedroom apartment worth of belongings to move.

First there was a massive delay. The contract said 21 days until delivery, I did not receive my belongings until 9/12/2021.

20-25% of my belongings were lost. More were damaged. I paid an extra $130 to pack my TV, which was lost and was never packed in a TV box to begin with. They dismantled my kitchen table somewhere in transit and lost the legs, leaving me with a big piece of wood. They lost 4 medium boxes, 1 large box, 1 office chair, 2 black pelican cases, 1 large suitcase, and our rug among other things. Nearly every box that arrived looked extremely beat up. Plastic bins were cracked and broken along with their contents. Broken shelf. Broken cabinet.

They have stopped responding to emails despite me being very courteous. If nothing else, I hope that no one else falls victim to this scam and if this can stop just one person from using their services I will feel a little better.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I was getting a quote on the telephone. I spent an hour doing this. During the quote time the person’s phone kept ringing and he even answered it twice! At the end he put me on hold. He came back with an estimate (that could change) and said if I booked the date right then I would receive a discount. I said I was not prepared to commit at this time and before I c old get the rest of what I was saying out of my mouth he hung up on me! Sure glad I didn’t take that offer!

I will not use them, simply for the fact they are expensive. Their advertised price is no where near the price they will quote you. Furthermore, they will not stop harassing you, even after you tell them no. They call you ( from all different numbers), they text you (all different numbers) and email you multiple times a day. They harass you all damn day. I block the number and a new one will call in a couple hours. Please save yourself the headache.

Ryan will not return my calls need a full refund it hasn't even been 4 hours since I read the truth in contract they are high pressure sales who don't care about people at all

A real safety and functionality nightmare. Bad trailer, heavily damaged & not even weather-tight. Jagged metal, broken track protruding at eye level. 250 lb scissor ramp that collapses without notice, non-functional lift bars and absolutely filthy inside. Nice lady with customer service handed me over to manager who held the company line: no discount for your troubles, we'll just bring out another trailer 4 hours later while everybody waits. Claimed their carrier Estes performs full safety checks which is obviously untrue. Saved them from million $ lawsuit and tried to be real nice about it but they really could care less. Still waiting on replacement trailer....
