Continued to recieve a significant amout of emails from Brooksdale re diesel car, PPI claims etc. I was stupid enough to engauge this company on a ppi intrest refund. I never recieved it although payment was sent to them by HMRC. Contacting Brooksdale is impossible by phone or email.This company needs and should be investigated. Do not use this company. BE WARNED.

Brooksdale have been hounding me for over a year to sign up with them. Which i have repeatedly refused. (Got my tax refund myself for free) i have been bombarded with emails and phone calls relentlessly. It now appears that they have applied for insolvency/liquidation on 24th April 2024. However,they are still contacting me via email,trying to get me to sign up for thier tax refund service. Surely,this is illegal for a company in liquidation to do ! Anyway,the emails have been forwarded to the appropriate authorities. Including Fortis Insolvency Ltd, which is the company that is handling the liquidation process.

Having received a letter from HMRC saying I was owed a lot of money but they where sending the cheque to this company.ive tried everything emailed,and telephoned,to absolutely no communication from them..I don’t know who they are and how they ended up claiming on my behalf…I’m absolutely raging at myself…avoid like the plague…SPAM SPAM SPAM

I like other reviewers have heard nothing for just under a year after giving them all my details re a tax refund for PPI which they said would take up to 3 months . When I rang they said they could not get in touch with HMRC directly and would have to ring them myself . Not much point using them in the first place and have not answered my emails since . Like others I have had emails from them , namely Laura Goodall , senior auditor asking me to claim for car finance refunds as she has helped with my PPI claim apparently ! Well Laura I am still waiting when you get the chance , but won’t hold my breath . Useless company , do not use them for anything .

No reply from Brooksdale about my enquiry about the transfer of my potential tax refund to Tax Magpie. Checked Compnies House .,,seems they are in liquidation as of 12/4/24 !

Fraudulent company still waiting for an update keep sending emails every few weeks to say HMRC is still dealing with the claim. Bunch of scammers.

So now brooksdale have sent a form out to fill in, on the company websites it says permanently closed scammers and scum, on companies House gone says into liquidation

would love to know as any one talked on the teliphone if so whats the number to call

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY RECEIVED A PAYMENT FROM HMRC IN SEPTEMBER 2023 for me. THEY HAVE KEPT THE PAYMENT. MY PAYMENT WAS FOR A TAX REBATE NOT FOR TAX ON PPI. THE SMALL PRINT IN THE PAPERWORK GIVES HMRC AUTHORISATION TO SEND THEM YOUR TAX REFUNDS. READ THE SMALL PRINT !!

Dont use this company its a scam ive heard nothing yet HMRC tell my my claim was paid months ago over to you, ive not received my funds ive sent several
Emails phones 1000 times cant leave a message as the mailbox is full guess everyone else trying to get there refunds that you have run of with im reporting this company to the police and to HMRC

In touch with Brooksdale for tax return and another subject… not heard a single thing back for well over a year after they requested my details and other personal information, yet I still get emails for other things. I reply via email, I’ve sent numerous, and still nothing..? What’s going on???

Rubbish company. I have had a letter from HMRC advising that they have sent them a tax refund but have not received it! A scam. Avoid like the plague and don’t give any third parties claiming to work for them. Am annoyed with myself for trying to use their services - my advice is simple - don’t.

I asked for a copy of the document I allegedly signed giving them permission to act on my behalf. I’ve still not received it.
I contacted HMRC direct and they informed me a payment was made to Brookdale. I’ve still not received anything in way of a payment and that was 18 months ago.
Utterly disgraceful service.

I was called last August about putting a claim through and everything was going to be easy and it would take upto 3 months on a decision well it was just after 3 months when the emails stopped from brooksdale iv emailed to find out what happening about my claim I’ve also tried to call which I never get anyone.

After looking at reviews on google I’m now starting to worry iv been scammed there are people alerting the police of this situation and are warning people from using brooksdale.

Should I be worried and should I be thinking of getting in contact with citizens advice and trading standards and getting advice from family member who works in law

I have email from last October saying they are waiting for the HMRC to investigate me claim and it would take from 8 to 12 weeks. We are now in April and I've not heard anything since January about my HMRC claim. Now I am receiving emails asking me about mis sold PPI on cars. Why would I ask them to start another claim when they haven't completed the original claim. I have emailed them privately 6 days ago, but this has been ignored, hence I've resorted to making it more public. I question now, if this company is reputable or should everyone that has had the same problem all seek legal advice. Brooksdale, can you PLEASE let me know how my HMRC claim is going????

Well, I never received the money. They claimed that I entered the wrong bank details. I'm not so sure. I've been emailing them from time to time and am just told that they'll escalate the matter. They don't. Six months later and nothing.

in october 2023 i was told i by hmrc that i would receive a tax rebate via cheque and brooksdale were representing me…. i have never heard of brooksdale and have never entered a contract with them asking them to act on my behalf. since then i have been informed only this week that brookdale have received my cheque in october and cashed it but have not given me my money up to now april 2024. i have contacted action fraud to report this as they submitted documents to hmrc with what they said is my signature but most definitely is not as i’ve never received, seen or sent any documents from Brooksdale, i’m currently seeking legal advice and intend to take this as far as necessary to get MY money from them.

I had contact from Brooksdale and completed all the necessary forms. I was told that I would then hear from Tax Magpie. I am now being bombarded with texts and emails from Tax Magpie asking me to click a link to complete my application. When I click the link it tells me, what I already know, the application is complete. I have tried emailing both Brooksdale and Tax Magpie to explain but never get a response. I have been trying to contact Brooksdale by phone but can never get through to them. I am now at a loss as to what more I can do.

Ive had my latest refund from Hmrc that has gone to Brooksdale I see they are going into liquidation now so I dont know where I stand now ive tried phoning them and emailing them they have not come back to me will they still go ahead and refund me whatever im owed or do I lose it alltogether now they are going into liquidation they havent sent me an email with whatever is going on so bit annoyed really as Im presuming all the other people that are due a refund from them will lose out now its a bit annoying and frustrating as im not a big earner and could of done with that money what are my rights now they are going into liquidation
