Great all round service
Easy to book on-line, one small hick up with delivery (towers not available until one day after hire start date but Cambridge branch did everything they could to rectify quickly). Easy to amend the rental period also. Very good service. Towers were virtually new.

Great Delivery Service
Both collection and delivery drivers were so helpful, we had a large piece of machinery which had to go through the house to the rear garden both helped take it through the house and back out again.

No reservation and had to chase deposit return
Ordered hire online and paid, but when I arrived ti collect, the branch had no record of it and had to look up the order number. Fortunately it was still available, but it had not been reserved so it was just luck I was able to get it. Returned but the deposit was not returned after a week - I had to ask to get the deposit returned, apparently it's not automatic. Eventually got the deposit back a working day later. Staff in branch were helpful.

Tired scarifier
The scarifier I hired from you required new tines. It didn't scarify my lawn that well, regardless of how low I set it. It also didn't pick up anything in the collector which meant raking the whole lawn. A huge job.
The people at the Cambridge site were excellent. They could not have been more helpful.

Just avoid
Bad advice, no gas that fitted so tool wasn't used. On my follow up to discuss with the branch I was told no refund. Very disappointed. Won't use Brandon hire ever again

Good and bad
I disliked the fact that the aeorator I hired was fitted with the wrong tines and the correct ones were not available at the hire location so I couldn’t pick up the machine on the day I had booked it.
I liked the fact that the hire location delivered the machine with the correct tubes the following day and let me keep it for the weekend free of charge by way of apology

Booking online was simple
Booking online was simple . We hired a floor sander. With some sanding pads , on arrival at the unit the machine and all the mess art parts were waiting. Quick chat to what kind of job I was going to do and staff there recommended I increased the number of sanding pads as they said the number I had booked wouldn’t complete the job. They were completely right . I only took a couple back (sale or return) . Great to know staff have an insite into what’s actually needed with a little bit of advice thrown in.

I hired a one person hole borer
I hired a one person hole borer, the whole process went well until l came to use it. It only bored the first four inches of soil and would go no further and just compacted the soil. The ground area was soft soil, no roots or obstacles and a few small stones, nothing to prevent drilling. I tried five holes, all the same, returned to the shop and felt they were unhelpful in finding a solution, for example replacing the borer bit. Which was a contrast to their helpfulness when l collected the machine. They did imply that l would get some money back as l had returned the item back within a few hours and l had hired it for 24hrs. No refund was forthcoming and l ended up digging the holes by hand. Very disappointed!!

Unreliable delivery
Booked a floor sander online for this morning. It didn't show up. It is now afternoon. Tried to call several times and no answer. Eventually called the Head Office, then we finally got a call back from the Cambridge branch saying that the sander will be with us in half an hour.
I may be persuaded to change this low rating depending on how they deal with this, but so far, extremely disappointed.
Update: finally turned up, but now most of the day is gone.
