Hire shop were very helpful, friendly. Only negative, website inventory for buffing pads does not match normal shop stock and is incomplete.

I wanted to hire a cement mixer for a weekend. I booked online and my understanding was it would be delivered on Saturday (am) collected on the Monday (am) - when my 2 day booking ended. I booked a week prior and after the order confirmation just had a text with a link to tracking and no ETA. By Friday no ETA so I rang the central customer services, there was still no ETA so they advised ringing back on Sat, the day of the delivery. I rang the local branch on Sat, was informed the mixer was on the lorry and should be with me by 9 am. The mixer turns up shortly after 9 am. This just gets left in my garden, the driver advised I couldn't sign for it as his systems were down and ID also could not be checked so he didn't wish to see that when I offered it to him, I could have been anyone. I later get emailed the despatch paperwork. This wrongly says I signed this paperwork at 09:17 on sat, I had never even seen this paperwork until I saw the email and didn't sign for the delivery. Paperwork also says I refused equipment demonstration, that wasn't even offered. The mixer was well used and had paint peeling on the inside, the mix kept sticking to the back. After use I get equipment ready for collection on Monday morning. I had spoken to Brandon Hire on the phone and all comms led me to believe collection would be on Monday. I rang on Monday late afternoon after it wasn't collected, they say they didn't know what happened about the collection today but it was now scheduled for Tuesday. I then get the mixer ready for collection Tuesday morning and it goes late Tuesday morning around 11 am, I assumed collected by Brandon Hire. I was working at the property all day. Then Brandon Hire are at my door around 4 pm, I advised they had already collected and they leave. Then I get a call later to say it wasn't Brandon Hire who took the equipment. Then I get an email asking me how long I wish to extend the hire for. I provide details of what has happened so far. This is looked into and a far from satisfactory response follows. They claim the collection date was always Tuesday. There was a failure to communicate that at all until I rang them late on Monday, but that phone call also led me to believe it should have been Monday as per all info I had beforehand. If it had been collected earlier it wouldn't have been stolen, which seems to be the situation now. Now they say they will invoice me as follows:

A brand new Belle 240v Minimix cement mixer (what I hired) is £449.99 from Builder Depot. Trade prices are also usually lower than what you see online. In respect of this cement mixer, my insurer informed me, 'you have no insurable interest in it and therefore the rental company need to consult their own insurance'. I await further legal guidance via my insurer now.

Booked in to collect from Fishponds branch and was told I had to collect from Feeder Road instead as they needed to give me some safety instructions. Went to Feeder Road to collect was not given any instructions at all.The truth was they could not be bothered to deliver it to the Fishponds branch and all was not ready when I got to Feeder Road and they did not look at all busy just could not be bothered.
