I feel compelled to share my experience…
I feel compelled to share my experience so that prospective guests can make an informed decision before booking with this Nigeria organisation called “BookNaija247”. I booked an apartment in February, approximately three months ahead of my planned travel dates. However, just two days before my departure, I was informed that maintenance work was being carried out on the apartment and that I would no longer be able to stay there. This last minute notification was extremely disruptive and left me scrambling to reorganise my accommodation plans at very short notice. After considerable back-and-forth communication, an alternative apartment was eventually provided by them. To my surprise, 5 days before the end of my stay, management contacted me and strongly pleaded with me to move back into the original apartment, claiming that the maintenance work had been completed. Unfortunately, this proved to be untrue. Upon arrival at the original apartment, I immediately noticed several issues. The en-suite bathroom door was damaged and unhinged, water flowing from the toilet to the bedroom, and the toilet door could not be locked from the inside, creating a serious privacy concern. When I reported this to management, I was told that they assumed my family was staying with me and that I should simply "manage" the situation. The presence of family members should not mean that guests are expected to compromise on basic dignity and privacy. The problems did not end there. An inverter and its battery were placed in the sitting room, creating an unsafe atmosphere. Several chairs were broken, and there was no running water for almost 3 hours during our stay. When I raised these concerns, their boss inadvertently revealed that another guest had only checked out the previous day before travelling to Germany. This made me question whether any maintenance had actually taken place at all. It became evident that the apartment was double booked and that the maintenance explanation was simply a convenient excuse. Adding to the frustration were the cockroaches in the property and the complete lack of accountability and genuine concern from management. Rather than addressing the numerous defects and inconveniences, I was instead pressured to pay a caution fee for an apartment that was clearly not in acceptable condition. What disappointed me most was not just the condition of the property but the attitude of management throughout the entire experience. There was little transparency, inconsistent communication, and a noticeable lack of empathy for the stress and inconvenience caused.
I would like to inform their prospective clients that if you enjoy unnecessary stress, poor communication, and being made to feel like your justifiable concerns are unreasonable, then this may be the place for you. However, if you value honesty, comfort, and peace of mind while travelling, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, this was one of the most frustrating accommodation experiences I have encountered, and I cannot recommend this organisation based on my experience.
