Great service

Great service, simple to use and a life saver for business expenses when short term cash flow is short.

Be aware that Amex payments take approx 5 days to clear however you can pay HMRC with this.

Had to prove my identity twice now in…

Had to prove my identity twice now in order to get these people to pay my bills all when they have actually charged me, so sitting on my money, I have used this service before seems that proving identity is a stalling tactic to fund their own business..

Hi, thank you for your feedback. Following your card transaction, Billhop receives the funds from acquirers within 2-4 business days (depending on card used). When the funds have been deposited into our client funds account we initiate a payment to the end recipient through Faster Payments (receipt of payment the same day) or CHAPS.

Regarding identity verification - This is for security reasons and you should only have been asked to provide this once. If you have been asked to do this twice even though you have already uploaded it before, please contact our support on help@billhop.co.uk so that we can look into this.

Lifesaver

This service was brilliant when a security alert on my current account meant my outgoing direct debits were blocked. Able to pay my rent on credit card. Happy days!

the disappointing aspect is that when…

the disappointing aspect is that when i wanted to pay a bill with american express i was told before billhop could pay, they would need my passport details . sneeky? curve do not ask for that ?
what makes the business model of billhop require this .
i was irritated at this request and cancelled the app.
oddly enough, when i applied for american express just ten years ago, they then did not ask for my passport. this was after 9/11

Hi Daniel,

thank you for your feedback.
Please note that at the moment, it is not possible to enter a payment and have it paid out on the same day. It takes 4 business days for a payment to reach the recipient. This means that your transaction entered on 30th April can only be paid out on 7th May - after the weekend and the bank holiday on 6th May.

Our opening times are: weekdays 9-12:30 1:30-5pm.
1st May is a bank holiday in Sweden and this is why you couldn't reach us yesterday, but we informed our customers via an automated reply.

We apologise if this has caused any inconvenience and are available for clarifications during our opening times.

I began to use Billhop when HMRC…

I began to use Billhop when HMRC decided you could no longer pay Tax Returns on a Credit Card. I was cautious at first because I didn't know anything about Billhop. Since then I have used Billhop a number of times. I have found the service to be excellent. Not just efficient but when I have made mistakes I was dealt with personally. An excellent service that I would recommend to anybody.

Great idea!

Great idea for paying bills and products where Amex cards are not accepted, although with a high fee of 1.95%, it makes it possible to use it.

I think its a great idea

I think its a great idea, especially as a lot of companies do not accept american express. However I wanted to pay GBP to a european company which at the moment is not possible. Overall fantastic service and a great concept.
