Almost 9 months to receive a lamp

I ordered one of the Bauhaus iconic lamps (Wagenfeld) the 8th April 2025 and received it today (13th December) after sending a dozen emails. Even when I eventually contacted the German Consumer Association they took one extra month before shipping.

Absolutely horrible experience, they do not have a proper customer service nor telephone number. And they refused to refund three times, promising that they would send the lamp "soon". As of today I don't even know why it took so long to them to send the package.

No product and no refund

We ordered products on October 25, 2024. After a few months we still hadn't received the products but we had paid the invoice. We chose to cancel the order and asked for a refund. It is now December 2025 and we still haven't received any money. We also happened to pay the invoice twice and that payment has not been refunded either despite them saying so several times.

Walter Gropius Simplex watch, great service

I bought a Bauhaus Movement 'Walter Gropius Simplex' watch. The watch is a very nice design and I am happy with it. I had a problem with the watch after 6 months and had to return it. We had a few problems due to the complex arrangements in returning an item from England to Germany post Brexit (German Customs kept it hostage for a while). I think you can tell whether a company is good or not when you have a problem. They really stuck with it until it was resolved, and at no charge. (Thanks to someone called Ela in customer service BTW) I recommend this company and product.

They take payment and do not fill orders

I placed an order on June 23rd for an item that I was told was in stock and ready to ship.
In addition to the shipping price originally calculated, I was charged an extra amount for shipping plus a foreign transaction fee.
After a long delay and several inquiries, I was told they didn’t have enough packing supplies to ship my single light fixture. I was told that it would ship as soon as they were able to get additional shipping/packing materials.
It has now been over 2 months.
I recently asked for a full refund and have not yet received a response or a refund.
It feels like a scam and I advise against getting involved with this vendor.

Our sales team was in regular communication with you, and as per your request, we have already initiated the cancellation and will process your full refund. We apologize for the delay and assure you that this will be completed.

Ho acquistato una lampada dal sito Bauhaus Movement a ottobre 2024 per un valore di 795 €, pagata con bonifico bancario.
Il prodotto risultava disponibile ad essere spedito immediatamente, e sarebbe dovuto arrivare dopo qualche giorno.
Dopo mia richiesta di aggiornamenti, dopo qualche giorno di silenzio, mi è stato detto che le lampade non erano pronte per essere spedite.
Dopo mesi di attese e promesse non mantenute, non avendo mai ricevuto nè il prodotto né aggiornamenti convincenti, ho richiesto in rimborso.
Ho inviato numerosi reclami e richieste di rimborso, ma l’azienda ha sempre rimandato senza risolvere nulla.
In generale la conversazione con loro è molto difficile, lenta e molto vaga.
A oggi, quasi a un anno dopo l’acquisto, il mio denaro è trattenuto senza giustificazione.
Sto procedendo con reclamo al Centro Europeo Consumatori e con denucia alle autorità competenti.

Esperienza estremamente negativa: consiglio vivamente di evitare acquisti da questo sito.

Vorremmo chiarire che, su sua richiesta, l’ordine è stato annullato e il rimborso è già stato avviato. Ci scusiamo profondamente per i tempi molto lunghi e per le difficoltà di comunicazione che ha sperimentato.

Purtroppo negli ultimi mesi abbiamo incontrato notevoli difficoltà con la produzione e le consegne internazionali, che hanno influito negativamente anche sulla sua esperienza. Questo non giustifica i ritardi, ma ci teniamo a confermare che il rimborso sarà completato a breve.

Good products, good communication

I've ordered several items from this shop. All have been of good quality. Some deliveries have been delayed, others not. Importantly, they always respond to emails in timely fashion, explaining the reason for the delay, if any.

Friendly enough but ultimately seem confused about the process of selling things, ie advertising something as in stock when clearly it isn't. You're better off doing the research yourself to find the item you want and buying direct from source. Website is nice for curated ideas, mind.

Over 3.5 Months, No Product, refund only processed after posting a review on trustpilot — Extremely Disappointing

[Update – 12 July 2025]

After I posted this public review, reported fraud with my bank and submitted a formal complaint to the European Consumer Centre (ECC) Germany, the case was suddenly escalated — less than 24 hours after the review went live. After more than 3.5 months of delays and empty promises, I was finally contacted by the company’s Brand Ambassador and Communications Manager, and the refund was processed within one day.

In that message, I was also asked to consider removing or revising my negative review, which I found inappropriate under the circumstances. While the tone of the final communication was polite, it doesn’t change the fact that action was only taken once public pressure was applied.

The company had every opportunity to resolve this months earlier — instead, they acted only when their reputation was at stake. That says everything. Shameful to say the least.

[11 July 2025: original review]

I ordered a replacement glass for the WG24 / WA24 Wagenfeld Bauhaus lamp from Bauhaus Movement in March 2025. While placing the order, I was first asked to pay via bank transfer, which felt outdated and insecure. A few days later, I was sent a Revolut payment link, which I used to pay €170 in total.

Despite a stated delivery time of 7–10 days, the item was never shipped. Over the next three and a half months, I exchanged 30+ emails with the company. I offered to even receive the item at a Berlin address to help resolve delays, but that didn’t help. They kept promising shipment or refund, but nothing ever materialized.

Eventually, I formally requested a refund, which they said had been issued — but I never received any proof of payment or the actual refund.

The communication was always polite but largely unproductive. I had to follow up constantly, and to this day, I’ve received neither the product nor a refund.

I sincerely hope others do not go through a similar experience. Based on my case, I cannot recommend this store.

In case of similar experiences, i urge you to report them to the European Consumer Centre (ECC) German.

We would like to clarify that we were in continuous communication with you throughout the entire process and did our best to keep you informed about the delayed delivery of your chosen product. Initially, you expressed understanding for the situation — which we genuinely appreciated.

Later on, as a goodwill gesture, we offered you a small gift and kindly asked if you might consider updating or removing your review. You assured us that you would do so, especially after the refund was processed. We were therefore quite disappointed to see a public response that contradicted what had previously been discussed.

Since my last update in May

Since my last update in May, there has been absolutely no contact from Bauhaus Movement. It has been almost nine months since they took my money. These people are scammers. Despite assurances of a refund being forthcoming, I still have no lamps nor a refund. Save your money. They will just keep it and you will get nothing in return. I am now waiting to hear back from the lawyers although it's possible that Bauhaus will just ignore them too.
