Great tutor, feedback and guidance throughout the course.

What I really enjoy about this course is how it has really expanded my knowledge of photography, historic and contemporary and pushed me far further with the camera than I probably would have done of my own volition. The tutors are extremely friendly and helpful and the same applies to the support staff I have spoken with. The online community is also on hand to offer great tips, advice and inspiration.

I give the course 4 out of 5 stars as a few of the assignment questions can be a little vague. Assignment 3 in particular, was a challenging one, but on reflection, I did learn a lot from it and it was worth persevering with.

If anyone is considering enrolling on this course, I would certainly recommend it,

I am half way through the home study diploma and it is not at all what I was expecting, but much better for it! There is a lot of emphasis on the creative process and how to use your camera and tools such as lighting to produce a photograph that represents what you are trying to say. There is also a lot of research required to support that process. There is a clear focus on becoming a professional photographer with assignments designed to meet the requirements of a client.

It is a challenging course, requiring many hours of study. I have school age children at home and a job, so it will take me the maximum 3 years to complete the course. I am not doing this course to become a professional photographer, just looking to build on an interest that I have had since childhood but I am really enjoying it. I am finding the research really interesting and I now look at photographs in a completely different way.

This course isn't about telling you how best to take, for example, a portrait photograph but it will give you the tools to really create photographs that are individual to you.

Studying BA(Hons) Photography and really enjoying the course.

Yea it’s challenging, yes there’s a heavy level of research, private study and self discipline so if you just want to go out and take photographs then this might not be the course for you.

But if you want to push yourself, extend your knowledge and develop your skills and achieve your degree then I can heartily recommend the BAPH.

Tutors are on hand and supportive along with a healthy support base of fellow students.

I am taking the Diploma course and I absolutely LOVE it. Tutors are all so helpful and respond to you very quickly if you have a problem. I really enjoy the practical side of my classes and technical through my assignments. I would highly recommend this course. After I've finished this one, i would happily look into taking more at BAPH.

I totally recommend the British Academy of Photography. Studying there has been a blessing. Everyone is so kind and happy to help. The assignments are great, specially when they make you go out to use the camera, love it!

If you want to study photography, that is the place!

I am currently half way through the Diploma Course. I can honestly say it has opened up my world. Undertaking the assignments have allowed me to enter into environments I could never have imagined myself.The Tutors make the in class lessons great fun but very informative. BAPH then offers great support once you are working online from home. I have wanted to be a photographer since I was a little girl. I'm now a 55 year old grandmother and this course has proved to me it's never too late to follow your dreams & anything is possible. I would highly recommend. A*

The constructive feedback from your tutor (who is also a working professional) - really does push you to achieve more and/or try new things. I decided to take the home study course as I was working full time and found it very useful as I could study around work. I then had a baby mid- way through and was able to also fit the course around motherhood duties.

The assignments really do teach you something and are very well thought out.

Initially I only shot inanimate objects useful for home interior artwork. Now a graduate from the course, I also have new skills to be able to document daily life, events and also shoot portraits professionally.

I look forward to starting my business with knowledge of photography I did not have before starting the course. I am truly thankful for the Academy and my tutor Hugo Felix.

As a complete novice in the world of photography I have found this course to be excellent. I have enjoyed every aspect of the course. I have been challenged greatly but fully supported by an excellent Tutor ( Hugo Felix) and more generally by the professionalism of the Student Support Team. I started with the Home study Postgraduate Diploma Course which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have since transferred to the BA Hons Degree Course. I have felt supported, encouraged and valued as a student. I have learnt so much in a relatively short period of time.

This course is an exciting opportunity for anyone who has an interest in photography. Though I'm just getting started myself, I've already learnt a great deal from the first assignment, and I can see from it's structure that it's meant to help us gain confidence in our work and encourages us to explore our own unique style, which I appreciate not feeling confined to just ticking boxes. The student service advisors have also been extremely helpful and very quick to reply which is always reassuring. Also, there seems to be an active community in the facebook group which I haven't yet explored properly, but it's nice to have that sense of community where you feel safe to ask questions about photography, free from judgment.

I'm excited to carry on with my course and wish everyone else who is taking part in it or considering to the best of luck!

The course are well structured and covers wide range of genres.

The curriculum follows a clear guideline and focuses on building up well-founded knowledge. A progress is already apparent after a short time based on the image results. The assignments after each module are helping to further deepen the knowledge gained and the feedback by turtor is comprehensive and helpful. The exchange with the course supervisor is efficient, very friendly and always goal-oriented. All in all a very good experience.

For anyone interested in photography, accreditation from a body such as British Academy of Photography is immensely helpful. I would like to thank the academy, my tutor Hugo Felix and the admin team for the support offered with the entire process. The resources supplied and the forum was great. During the assignments, any queries were responded to, quickly. This was important for me as I was managing this course amidst a full time job. So al in all, kudos to BAPH. I look forward to the graduation ceremony soon.

took longer than expected to complete the course after getting covid and problems from long covid but determined to finish course must thank the BAPH as they have been really good with me and i thank them

I have learned so much during my Diploma course. It is not a technical "how to use my camera" course, but rather it teaches one to think like an artist and like a professional photographer, which involves methodology, creative ideas development and organisational skills.
The tutors and staff have always been very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend the course for anyone who is thinking of transitioning from amateur to professional photography.

I have enjoyed working through my assignments and have learnt so much.

Since I signed up for the BA Photography course I have learnt so much about photography in general.
