I paid for a male yearling turtle and I…

I paid for a male yearling turtle and I was sent an unsexed baby hatchling that was ill. The turtle died within 4 days. Brock has not returned my money and will not respond to me. My students are very sad our class pet died.

Hi Libby, I replied to your email, and as I said in the email, Allturtles.com does not sell anything. We don't sell turtles, tortoises or any live animals. We don't know where you bought your turtle from and we are sorry to hear about its passing, but we didn't sell you anything. Your purchase wasn't from our site, as again, we do not sell anything.

Got a new Reeves

Hello, Brock
I live in Japan and three month ago I lost my American husband due to accuse illness ….im so so devastated..
Now me and our beloved Reeves “ Jimi “( about 20yo) left alone…my late husband John really loved him and always played with him while I’m gone to work/gym, since his passing, Jimi looked so lonely, so I bought him a little Reeves I named Timmy ( hoping to make a good friend with him…) but as soon as I put her in the same aquarium, Jimi kept chasing little Timmy around and bites him relentlessly. Jimi is such a gentle nice turtle, I was so shocked to see his aggressive side and kept them separated for a while and put a little one back in the Jimi’s aquarium to get used to live with another turtle, didn’t work,,,,then I separated them again for a while , then put them back together again, still didn’t work…I often see the turtles piling one another on their back looking peaceful….do you think they are ever going to be friends?

I admire your site a lot .im really grateful to share a great love for turtles with you.

Hi Fumi! Thank you for sharing all of that.
Acclimating the two will take time, so I would say just do it in waves like you have been doing. I can't guarantee that they will get along but generally, they can.

The size of your setup will of course impact this, if it is too small then that could also contribute to the aggressiveness.

Stacking is done for the turtles to get closer to the heat source generally speaking in the wild while they are basking.

Figuring out our new family turtle

My son picked up a turtle when we were walking in the woods and really wanted to bring it home as a pet. I had no idea about how to take care of turtles. All Turtles was very helpful in reading through and figuring out what tank to buy and how to take care of our new family turtle, Richard. There is even an article on how to identify what species of turtle it is. Appreciate the information!

Really enjoyed this site for all kinds of information related to turtles. We have 3 red eared sliders and 5 3-toed box turtles. So, its nice to read things related to them.
