Warning, rambling alert.
I canceled with another moving company after being impressed with what I thought was better commitment and dedication. I will try to summarize what I perceive as a breach of trust.
I contacted All Mighty Relocation the day after electronically signing the Estimate to request a cancellation and refund. I have contacted the company just about everyday to ask for timing on the refund I requested by phone and email. Of course I still have a move to pay for. I have received no direct response to the direct question. I was told that the refund was in process the following business day following accepting the electronic Estimate. I contacted the company to cancel within 24 hours, well within the written contract required time frame of 72 hours.
I paid the deposit by check after being told that was the only way to satisfy the payment. After, reading the contract more carefully I found that the contract did not read that way. The contract stated that the deposit could be paid by credit card as well as another form of payment. I explained to a rep who called on Monday, a business day after my request, that the check cleared as a draft the same day that I sent a copy of the check confirming the satisfaction of the 15% deposit. Though the call was pleasant enough; however, there was no real closure. Just a “it’s being processed”. This was not the only discrepancy that I found but this was the nail in the coffin.
Needless to say, that I am frustrated and fearful that this will not end well with the lack of communication. It is disheartening that I am not allowed the same level of consideration that I paid, pun intended, or that is apparently extended to other customers that have had positive experiences.
With all of the positive reviews, I can’t help but believe that this is due to “who” I am. Is this my introduction to Southern living? Update to come.
Just over a week since my requested refund and still no update on the status. I’m still attempting to move forward with my move half way across the country as this company holds much needed funds that I require for my transition!

Two weeks now and I’m told the check is in the mail!

As I quickly approach the 30 day mark, the only positive is that my communications are being acknowledged and the individual that I’ve spoken with has been polite. Still, I have no resolution to this ordeal as I await a refund for what is almost the equivalent of my current rent.
10/28 Update:
As of tomorrow, this ordeal will be 30 days. I was in fact mailed a check that I deposited by phone on 10/19. That check was returned on 10/22. I was told that there was a meeting 10/25 to resolve all outstanding refunds. Still nothing. Fortunately, or unfortunately for me, this is a company move so I will pursue assistance from the Legal department.
UPDATE: I cashed the check at the company's bank this morning!!! The bulk of my money was recovered.
