Worst experience with a builder ever. John Ferrans effectively hires cowboy builders and tradesmen to do his work. They do all the confident talk at the start about how they are very experienced and can fulfill the work but quite honestly his team are lazy, slow, unorganised and completely destroyed parts of our property and the build he was tasked to do. Had to call in new builders half way to rectify the work he started which was deemed dangerous and defective. Every person brought in to do a piece of work was worse than the previous. Absolutely failed to deliver on his contract. Please take heed of these warnings and do not hire him or his other companies. It cost us a lot financially to get someone to undo and redo his work.

A lot of what’s written here rings true with our experience with John Ferrans and Alba Bespoke Cabins. John and the guys working for him are a nice bunch and he had a detailed contract and payment schedule but things never went to plan. He used inexperienced guys to do things like guttering that failed and led to leaks and needed to be redone. He struggled to retain skilled staff and was constantly under financial pressure so we were forced to part ways before the contact was fully complete and we had to get other trades in the finishes the jobs.

An absolutely shocking service, John Ferrans the Director of Alba Bespoke Cabins, fraudulently issues electrical safety certs, after numerous issues and a full electrical inspection was carried out by my qualified electrician who said it was ''the worst and most dangerous case of wiring he had ever seen''. Alba Bespoke have unqualified staff completing work they should ever be near. Their poor financial postion leaves your project held to ransom whilst they ask for more money with unsatisfactory progress made. They cannot run a project, the quality of work and materials are very poor. John Ferrans also refuses to pay for his illegal and unsafe mistakes. Avoid this company like the plague. They have been reported several times. All in all John Ferrans is a complete conman, one i will continue to chase for what he owes me to put his terrible work right.

The list of faults and complaints regarding our cabin is extensive and include a badly leaking roof; missing plumbing pipes and doors/windows which have been installed incorrectly. The end result being a leaky, cold glorified shed, which has not been built correctly. We were advised that the cabin did not require planning permission (which is false) and have received no safety certificates for the work that has been done.
We are currently in the process of calling in qualified professions this time, including a roofer, carpenter and plumber to determine if there is any benefit to trying to rectify these issues or if it would be better to tear the whole thing down.
We have also been made aware that the company is experiencing financial difficultly, cannot retain staff and is on the verge of closing... Just take one look at our cabin and you'll understand why.
