Spreadheets on steroids is a good description, but as a fist time use, I built a couple of simple automations. ANd during testing, I added two extra email accounts to test the automation notifications, and got billed for extra users. All all over $220AUD for one month. I nearly spat my coffee out. I emailed their support and asked what I did wrong and was charged so much, and since have not received a reply. I do thank them though for ripping me off as it forced me to go and build something myself. Hello Codex. Lol. Goodbye Airtable.

Signed up for their product over a year…
Signed up for their product over a year ago and set up a very basic foundation and completely forgot about it. Reached out to their customer service to see if there was anything I could do to even refund a single month since it was not a service I used, I was told there is zero tolerance for any refund outside of what is required by them by law. They have zero flexibility when it comes to customers and zero interest in trying to work through anything with their customers and would rather cite terms of service.

They email me multiple times a week, ignore my many requests to remove me from their spam lists and trials etc. They just don't seem to get it. It is a glorified excel, not worth the money and one of those companies where AI is doing everything so you don't get a real person to figure out issues.

I tried the trial offer, and cancelled within my time limit, and they still charged me $24. Well they refunded me that $24 a month later and on that same Credit Card Statement, they charged me $46.64. For what??? What is going on with this business??? You're asking me some specific details so you can forward me to an agent and discuss this pricing plan but not a single rep. We are moving from using excel sheets and using basic documents to do filing and decided to proceed with AirTable as suggested by some colleagues and business partners but nothing!
Non Proffessional - Do not go Enterprise
I had a very disappointing experience with Airtable’s sales team.
What was more frustrating was the lack of professionalism in the sales process. During calls, I was presented with an attractive offer and encouraged to renew under the Enterprise Scale plan. However, after a long delay, the official offer sent via email was completely different from what had been discussed.
This change only came after my initial Enterprise contract had already expired, which put me in a weak position and felt like it was being taken advantage of.
Overall, this experience has significantly impacted my trust, and I would not recommend dealing with their sales team based on my experience.
If want to go with airtable, go with start up plans for not more than few months only and do not touch the sales team.
Very deceiptive billing
Very deceiptive billing, auto-updating seats throughout the month and not prorating it back. Also no option to block the amount of editor seats without notifying the admin.
AI mess
I have been using Airtable for years with absolutely no problems. With their massive AI introduction, AT went from my favorite app to the most unreliable one becoming incredibly laggy and behaving in a way I have never seen: filters, attachements and other basic functions that I've been using for many years just don't work anymore and it screwed up my accounting system. AT has become unreliable AI slop. Will go back to good old reliable xls spreadsheets. What a mess.

Airtable would not give me sensible access to my data outside of Airtable. Support was maddening and wasted weeks of my time just to find out that Airtable finds its limitations acceptable and they do not care that I cannot get my attachment data from them without one-attachment-at-a-time attention. I have 100's of attachment files. They promise access on the surface, but the methods they promise, don't work. One would have to spend a lot of $$ to third party vendors to have hope of getting their attachment data in a reasonably useable way, and I saw no reason to believe that it would actually work. Now I'm stuck paying Airtable $240 a year if I want to continue to use the investment of my data in their base without tremendous time and effort to move it to another service or app.
That said, their basic, very limited in customization user interface is very nice for basic, on-the-fly data management. HOWEVER, if you want ANTHING more, stay away from Airtable. DONT LISTEN to what they or anyone says online will result in such things as acceptable custom reports, custom data crunching, custom merge documents, etc. For example, because I couldn't get my attachments out of Airtable in a useable form. I was forced to use their supplied extension, Page Designer, to produce merge forms that needed images from my attachments. Page Designer is extremely limited in customization features, maddingly unstable, and horribly underdeveloped.
I am extremely disappointed, stressed and angry to have spent so much time and effort on this issue, only to realize that my trust in investing years of data in Airtable resulted in my being stuck with their pathetic limitations because I cannot find a way to get my valuable attachments out of it and into another database manager without spending a lot of money or spending loads of time doing it click-by-click, attachment by attachment. I was subjected to two grueling weeks of many levels of incompetent, uncomprehending support systems and personal that did not seem to care that Airtable would do users this way.
If you do a little online research, you will see recent, significant management changes, Airtable's acquiring an AI company, very significant employee layoffs and ambitions to abandon the smaller customers for bigger ones. Let’s see how that works out for them, considering my small potatoes, hobby user experience. Can you image how such an experience would affect a large company that depended on their data and the use of it?

Beware, this is a predatory scheme. If you sign up for a free, they make it virtually impossible to change or cancel your account. And then once they start charging you, they make it virtually impossible to stop it. They obscure which credit card they're charging and they obscure the name under which they will charge. They offer no contact.
STAY AWAY
STAY AWAY! YOU WILL BE A PRISONER! A company that was formerly trusted and we used for over 10 years and now is a huge scam. As others report, they randomly charge the credit card on our company account, $35,000 over the past three months when for YEARS our bill has been $10k a year. All we asked for is an explanation of the bill, they can not and will not provide. We've begged, emailed, asked for calls and they for months say they are collecting info and keep charging us more. Becuase we've integrated their system so much into our business we feel imprisoned by them. I can't believe how quickly we went from loving to absolutely despising the company. Complete trash.
Powerful Engine, Predator Pricing.
The tech itself is solid for relational data, but the "user management" system feels like it was designed to maximize accidental billables rather than workflow efficiency. Trying to distinguish between a "guest" and a "collaborator" is a constant bottleneck that leads to unexpected charges.

The tool is great, but I've been tricked into using it and now as our company is growing a bit I need to consider buying a premium account which I did not mind before discovering the prices!
20$ per user per month from $0 to $1'440. We are 6 people so it would now be more expensive than our Office 365 licenses.
Of course we will not pay that.
