The right support from day one
I came across Joost and Francisca while I was looking at a few different ways of getting into property. Serviced accommodation wasn't actually the route I'd originally been planning to take, but the more I looked into it, the more sense it made.
I spoke to a few different people offering training and mentorship around SA, but Joost and Francisca were by far the ones I felt most comfortable with. They seemed the most reputable, and I really liked that it wasn't just a course where you're left to figure everything out yourself afterwards. The whole point was that they'd actually help me get everything set up properly and give me what I needed to then run and grow the business myself.
I came up with the branding, and from there they've helped me with pretty much everything else.
They set up the adverts, helped with the website, gave me the scripts and wording for speaking to landlords, showed me how to structure the offer, what to say on calls, how to handle objections and how to actually go about finding the right properties.
Within about 30 days I'd already found my first property and got the landlord on board. We then had to wait for the existing tenant to move out, but once we had access it took just over two weeks to get the property cleaned, furnished, photographed, listed and live. They helped with the onboarding, what information I needed from the landlord, what needed to be in the property, staging, linen, guest supplies, access, photography, listings, pricing and all of the software behind the scenes.
And probably the biggest thing has just been having someone there to ask questions as I've gone through it. I've definitely sent them plenty 😂 but they've always given me the answer, advice or direction I need.
I've now got my first property live, which is a really good feeling after starting from scratch, and I'm already looking at how I can scale from here.
I've also now left my full-time job and I'm pursuing this properly, which probably says quite a lot about how much confidence I've gained in the model. I've actually gone through the process now, got the business set up, signed a landlord, launched a property and seen how everything fits together.
I'm genuinely really happy I signed up with them. I've gone from knowing very little about serviced accommodation to having my first property live and leaving my job to pursue it properly.
If you're sitting on the fence, I'd say stop overthinking it and just have the conversation with them. That's what I did, and I'm very glad I did.
