In Summer 2024, transitioning from group practice to a solo practice, was challenging and overwhelming. I was used to using eClinicalWorks, a complex, complicated, bloated, and expensive EMR with a monthly cost of $500 per provider with inadequate support. I was looking for a simple, basic and affordable EMR. While searching online, I came across OpenEMR and Sherwin Gaddis. Contrary to other EMR’s, initially, I found OpenEMR to be a basic skeletal of an EMR.

With guidance from Sherwin, I was able to customize the OpenEMR for multiple providers along with the simple essential features to document the encounter and process the billing. During my interactions with Sherwin, I have found him to be caring, considerate, selfless, honest, and extremely helpful. Anytime, I have a question, he responds within few hours. He provides relevant input and suggestions but not once tried to sell me anything. Sherwin has been Great! Thank you for everything you do, Sherwin. He is one of a kind caring human being. I wish there was a way to clone Sherwin and install him in every EMR corporate world to make life simple and joyful. Sherwin you are what humanity is all about.
