Very efficient in collecting the necessary paperwork & handing it over to solicitor's to apply for probate.
Total cost was slightly less than I'd expected, most of which was solicitor's charges, but still very much cheaper than using a solicitor throughout.
Grant of probate was obtained in a reasonable time frame, considering we had a delay in obtaining the origional will.

Affinion Probate can justifiably claim to be leaders in their field. Mark, in particular, excelled by successfully resolving a number of uniquely challenging aspects in close collaboration with an experienced and thorough independent legal team. Nothing was left to chance, any and all potential obstacles were anticipated and addressed. Affinion and their team are as close to a proverbial "rubber-stamp" for Probate as one could possibly hope to secure. They deliver. I recommend their service, without hesitation.

We got the name of Affinion from a friend who had used them before. We also looked at using a local solicitor and another on-line service from one of the larger UK corporates, but Affinion were the most assured during the initial contact, and did come in as the best price of the 3. Just to set the scene, the estate we had to administer was relatively straightforward - a house, a bank account, some investments and a recent Will was in place, we had most/all of the required documents available and I like to think I am reasonably OK with what the probate process is. We were steered well on which documents were needed and our clarifications were answered quickly. I guess the process could be more convoluted and prolonged if the required documents were missing or harder to locate.
Taylor Rose were the legal advisors and were able to complete the HMRC IHT form400 quickly, checking back with us to make sure everything was correct. Once HMRC were happy Taylor Rose then submitted the application for Probate. The whole process from start to receiving the completed Probate was 16 weeks (we had been told that the process could take up to 24 weeks but that is really the HMRC and Probate office processing time - the time taken to gather all the right documents has to be added to this).
We had been given a fixed-price quote for the assistance, although there was the potential for extra costs if additional work was requested. We did incur some additional costs as two of the three executors had their 'power reserved' (so they were not active in progressing the probate application but could become involved if they needed to or chose to). This incurred £110 per executor to log the power reserved with the probate office which we only found out on the final invoice, although we probably would have chosen to do it anyway to make the application process simpler.
While we never met anyone in person, phone calls and emails with attachments were all that was required to get this job done. I was particularly impressed when some of my email communication was answered mid-evenings or on weekends. Not that many people work Mon-Fri 9-5 any more but it was good to see this rapid and flexible response.
I'd have no hesitation in recommending Affinion Probate to someone else in a similar position to ours.

I cannot praise Affinion Probate highly enough. Following the death of my mother, we needed assistance obtaining Probate, and after comparing a number of providers, Affinion stood out on both price and service.

The total cost was just under £1,900, which included VAT and the Probate Court fees of approximately £300. Many other companies quoted almost double some treble this amount, and several did not even include VAT or court fees in their quotations, which would have pushed their costs even higher.

Naturally, I was a little cautious at first because Affinion's pricing was so competitive, but I needn't have worried. From start to finish, the service was exceptional.

I was executor of a will and was flabbergasted at the price quoted by a large firm of solicitors for carrying out probate on an estate of just £410,000. An estimate of £8-15000 was quoted excluding fees for the renunciation of a partner.
