Went to purchase a Savage 30.06. An employee there named Clyde was extremely rude and patronizing. I literally had to read the description word for word before he quit acting like a know it all. In reality, after this, I realize they only have one Savage 30.06 of any kind or description. How rude, will jot make another purchase here again.

I received a flyer advertisement on firearms from Academy Sports + Outdoors and saw one that I liked. I went in to purchase a fire arm at the Outer Loop location here in Louisville, Kentucky. After taking the time to locate the firearm and look at others I was excited to chose the firearm that I wanted so I did. I gave the guy my ID and my CCDW license. As he entered my information, I filled out all of the paper work needed on the tablet and then proceeded to ask questions about ammo to another associate that helped me pick out my ammo only to return back to the counter to find out that he pushed "run a background check" on my application even though I have a CCDW license and it wasn't necessary. So not only couldn't I get my firearm because of his mistake, I called back to check the status 5 days later and it was still pending then I was told it can take up to 30 days for me to get results in order for me to purchase the firearm. I also found out that it goes across all of the stores so I can't even go to another location. So my time was waisted standing there doing all of that and now I have to go elsewhere to get my firearm.

The shoes I ordered were clearly worn before shipping. The soles of both shoes were dirty. I was very disappointed. I’ve never had this happen before from anywhere else.

Went to Academy Store today looking for Rock Tape and found no one to assist me. It shows you have this product at your store. Poor service especially with Christmas right around the corner.

I also called your store with the phone ringing & ringing & then disconnected me.

Terrible experience!

I was at your store 11/20/24 inline to make a purchase along with three other people...A customer was checking out and after 5 minutes one person left as the person checking out seemed to have every dollar he ever made spread out on counter..5 minutes later we're still inline waiting and I asked if they can open another register and the response was im not qualified to open as three employees looked on standing around customer service desk...I eventually put items on a counter and walked out..I was the second person to walk out..thank you academy sports for your efforts in customer support...

Attempted to order shirts online. When I tried to checkout, I filled in my payment and shipping information, hit "Place Order" and got an error saying "Confirm payment details". Did this many times with two different cards. Same thing each time. Both cards work just fine with other vendors with no problems. Chatted with a customer service rep thinking they could help but they don't have access to my cart. Instead, I was supposed to send them the SKUs, colors, price for all 11 shirts I was trying to order. There was no way I was going to search for and add all of that data. Sounded too much like an online scam. Now I am very uncomfortable with the card information I have already provided and have locked my cards just to protect from fraudulent charges. Ugh. Come on Academy, this isn't that difficult. Eliminated your company from any future purchasing.

Online promo codes get marked as used for just putting them in cart and not checking out. All my orders were canceled for no reason. Gift cards were not refunded after order cancelations. Trolled

This company is a rip off. I returned a pair of shoes that should have been a 0 balance. But I find out that they wanted to charge me a late payment of 39.00 dollar plus the payment of the amount they associated with the purchase so I talked to a supervisor and they weighed the late fees and I owe $1.75 so for who out there just taking affect that if you return something they will charge you the amount that you owe

I used to love Academy, but the customer service is so bad now. And it’s obvious they don’t care if you, the customer, are unhappy. Sad

Review for Academy Sports - McKinney, TX (September 21, 2024)

I am deeply disappointed and outraged by the unacceptable behavior my family experienced at Academy Sports in McKinney on September 21, 2024, around 11:30 a.m. My 68-year-old father-in-law, a veteran who is currently battling cancer, was taking my 10-year-old daughter out for a day of shopping when they encountered the most unprofessional and offensive cashier.

The cashier, who was tall, had shaggy hair, tattoos, and facial piercings, first asked my father-in-law if he wanted to sign up for a credit card. My father-in-law politely said "No, thank you," but the cashier kept asking. After my father-in-law repeated "No, thank you," the cashier became visibly agitated. He even said, "You're lucky you caught me on a good day because otherwise I would be even more disrespectful" (paraphrased). This aggressive attitude escalated when the cashier called my father-in-law a mother-f****r, made derogatory comments about his age, calling him old, and threw the merchandise at him while demanding that he "get away from his register."

This behavior was not only disrespectful, but it also deeply affected my daughter, who was terrified and suffered from extreme anxiety during the incident. She has told me she never wants to shop there again.

Later that evening, I called the store and spoke with the Hardlines Manager, Romel. He assured me that the situation would be addressed and that the front-end manager, Susan Ray, would contact me to discuss the matter further. However, as of Monday, September 23, 2024, at 6:45 p.m., I still haven’t received any follow-up from Susan or the store.

To add to the distress, my daughter is now so stressed that she doesn't even want to wear the Crocs that her grandpa purchased for her that day. This entire experience has left a lasting negative impact on our family, and I hope Academy Sports takes immediate action to prevent such treatment from happening to any other customers.

Bought an item that was on sale, the day i received it they put it on sale even more. I tried to message them to get a store credit, they wouldnt do it, I even told the lady that I would buy the same item again but they wouldnt do anything

I ordered shoes online and they were delivered today but they have a security tag on them. I ordered online so I would not have to go to the store. I started an online chat with customer service and he said to print the label and send them back via FedEx. Then he would reorder them and give me 30% discount off for the inconvenience. Well first of all I don't have a printer and second of all they were on sale and now they are not so the discount he was giving me is only $4.23 less not 30%. That isn't even worth the gas or inconvenience. I am terribly disappointed.

I ordered online and was hoping to have package delivered in time as a gift to someone. I watched for days, where Academy Sports had label printed but has yet to ship the 2 items. This was my first time doing a ship to home order VS store pickup. And it will be my last. Ordered from other stores the same day and those packages are expected to be delivered tomorrow. What a shame.

Why are the comercials on my American tv shows in spanish???

On Friday last I returned a Magellan shirts that was mislabled to the store in Columbus Ga. The greeter at the door said that there was no longer a customer service counter and that i had to go through the register line. There were 21 people in that line and two registers open. I asked to speak to the manager and the teller said " Good luck with that, it aint gonna happen!" I called their service when i ot home and they said some one would contact me within 24 hrs. Thats not happened either. Im done with you! i sincerely Academy sports are close to closing their doors! Good ridance.. I further believe that any one who patronizes the store is a complete idot

They were really helpful and always stayed busy doing their task. They were also nice people and friendly, but they didn’t really talk to us they just smiled and didn’t ask if we needed anything or help.

Bought a Outdoor Gourmet "house brand" from Academy. Less that 2 weeks later all the chrome is peeling off the trim. Emailed customer service and basically got ghosted and they closed my case with a "solved" description. The bad review of the product was also never added to their website. Don't see how you can trust any of their reviews.

This website actually tried to take money from my debit card. I'd never used or heard of them before and yet they had got hold of my card details and tried to help themselves to some of my hard earned money.

Upon Paying at the Wesley Chapel FL store, the cashier ask if I had a Academy card, assuming she meant Loyalty card I said no, upon entering my details, I asked is this a credit card or loyalty card and only then did she say credit card. I said I didn't want this, and had not as yet signed, she then said it was too late and I will have to call to cancel. She said it would not effect my credit score to close this but upon phoning in to cancel, I was informed that this is report to the credit score. I am shocked that the store is not up front with its customers about their card being a credit card. I will not shop here for this reason, as I felt tricked and manipulated into this card. I am disgusted by how this store operates.

Beware of long super long lines, the mission store started doing the Burlington coat factory thing were they make customers form one line that goes all the was to hunting department. This company needs to evolve with self checkouts and scan and go like other stores.
