AVOID ABSORB ONLINE LEARNING

I paid for a full spread of GCSE's for my son, and he was progressing well and then suddenly was not able to log in anymore, and no emails answered, and the contact number refused to answer (although it was still clearly being used). This was over a year ago. Has anyone had any luck with getting their money back or pursuing the company owners?

Impossible to get in touch through the…

Impossible to get in touch through the system (Contact Us button doesn't work - its a dead end) or by phone to resolve an issue affecting courses automation. Their representatives are always 'busy'. This is not a once off, this is a chronic issue. They advertise as award wining LMS. Unexpectable for their price tag. Try teachable or thinkfic, a fraction of the price instead.

DO NOT USE ABSORB ONLINE LEARNING!!!!! SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE. POOR RESOURCES. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

In June, I paid nearly £200 for a GCSE Maths course but it really was not worth the money. The resources are not up-to-date, they are completely computerised so you don’t learn key skills like drawing a graph or properly interpreting a graph, and you do not get the support that is advertised on the website when signing up for the course.

In October, the website went down for a week saying that the site has been closed down and it’s under maintenance. During this week, me and many other people across the country could not get in contact with them through email or phone. Presently, I am still struggling to get in contact with them and I have even tried messaging their Instagram account, but still there is no answer. This has led me to question whether or not it was worth it for me to continue with Absorb Online Learning. So, I had a look online to try to find a centre from me to do the exam externally, without the use of Absorb, to find out that there are no exam centres that sit the GCSE Maths exam in Cornwall. For me, the closest exam centre is in Bristol which is approximately three hours away, and I would have to go to that exam centre three times in May and June. I was not informed about this when I signed up and I have no idea where Absorb were expecting me to sit my exam.

So, if anyone is interested in doing or re-doing their GCSEs, please, I beg you, do not use Absorb Online Learning. It is just a massive waste of time and money.

What a fool I am

What a fool I am - paid a small fortune a few years ago to do an A level maths but a laggard I am, then I paid a further small fortune to extend the period this year - now I’ve lost it all! About £600 - discussing how online companies can get away with this.

Where has Absorb gone??

My partner signed up to absorb last year to do 3 A levels. He sat them with no problem, however, did not do as well as he would have liked in one, and so decided to resit it this academic year. He has tried to message his tutors several times to ask about university, as absorb are a UCAS registered organisation. However, none have replied. I decided to try and use the live chat function on their website, only to discover that the website has completely vanished from google, and clicking links through Instagram and Facebook just gives you a blank loading screen. They are still registered as an active company and have recently hired a new director back on 25th July according to their records. However, it is November now, and we have not been able to have any correspondence for months. For them to not give us any information regarding the issues they are clearly facing is wrong and stressful, and my partner paid a lot of money for them to just vanish without saying a word. I remember when it used to be a really good company and it had 4.8 on trustpilot. All everybody wants is for them to tell us what is going on, and for them to give our money back. Instead, most people are left in limbo, not knowing what to do, not having enough money to pay out again to another company and having university decisions made a lot more stressful. Please, do not purchase any course from this company, as the chance is that you will not get a course but be hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds worse off.

I paid to do an IGCSE in Sociology

I paid to do an IGCSE in Sociology. I haven't heard a word from them and the site is down. emails and calls go unanswered. I put a lot of work into my course and gave these people money. Not a lot of money compared to what some people seem to have lost, but to me, it is a lot of money and radio silence from them, and no idea if I'll ever see that money again. Having read all the other comments on this thread it seems we are all in the same boat. Don't touch this company with a barge pole.

I have paid close to £200 for a GCSE…

I have paid close to £200 for a GCSE maths course which I started in July to fill a gap year before going on to develop a career. But like so many other people, I'm not able to complete my course because the website has been down for nearly a week. I've tried calling them but no-one is answering the phone.

Paid £300 for one A level course

Paid £300 for one A level course, glad i didnt pay for more. I've had the course for 3 months now and all of a sudden the website is unavailable with the message
"Absorb Online Learning, due to unforeseen circumstances has sadly had to close. Apologies for the inconvenience - we thank you for your custom and wish you the very best of luck in the future."

I've been reading the bad reviews and realized alot of people have the exact same problem. This company should be sued and we should all get a refund. Avoid at all costs.

I paid for 5 GCSEs because my grandson can’t go to mainstream school. He’s put so much effort in and tried to log in today but can’t. I can’t afford another £1300 and now he can’t be properly educated. I don’t know what to do

My money's been stolen

Paid over £600 for 2 A level courses that I was midway through and the site now just says "Absorb Online Learning, due to unforeseen circumstances has sadly had to close." Is it even legal for a company to do this? Absorb Online Learning Ltd's company number is 09424662; report them and get our money back.

This Company Has Closed Down

I began a course three months ago and had to pay up in advance (I live abroad).
Much of the material is seriously out-of-date which matters as the subject is Politics. They haven't even got around to updating the constitutional eruptions of Brexit. (The vote was more than six years ago). Communications with my tutor have gone unanswered.
I think I've just discovered why. When I tried to enter just now, access was denied with the message: 'Absorb Online Learning, due to unforeseen circumstances has sadly had to close. Apologies for the inconvenience - we thank you for your custom and wish you the very best of luck in the future.'
As recently as two days ago I was receiving emails advertising offers for further courses!
As I say, my course has been fully paid for. What now?

Truly dissatisfied and feel let down, how is it possible for a company to do this ,where is the trust? All students who have been cheated of their money have to be united and take these people to court.

Hi I joined absorb 2 to 3 years ago and…

Hi I joined absorb 2 to 3 years ago and today was the first time I read the trust pilot. I noticed that everyone had the same problem. I would like to get a refund for myself and other people who have been messed about paying money. I personally think they have been bankrupt and we should all stand together for a refund. All we need is a bit of courage to take them to court.

Disgusting behaviour

For those with negative reviews on here, it looks like the company has closed down. I was applying for a job two months ago, had an interview, was offered the role unconditionally then got an email saying things had changed and they were no longer recruiting. Companies House shows the director has recently changed and anyone looking for compensation could try the address the company is registered to which is in Carlisle.

Initially all seemed ok

Initially all seemed ok. Exchanged emails, purchased my GCSE Human biology. My direct debit was set up. I looked into the few places that were not close to where I live to sit my GSCE (unfortunately). These places wanted a lot of money for me to sit to do these exams. Now I'm starting to worry about my finance so I asked Absorb if I could postpone for a little while which they agreed. I didn't read my email properly and they had stated they would freeze my account. The first payment went through by direct debit. The 2nd payment did not. I couldn't log on to see if I could fix this as my account was frozen. Absorb sent many emails trying to take payment. Long story short - I have phoned (no answer but went to an inappropriate answer message service which didn't sound like a business), sent 5 emails (no reply) and have sent about 6 letters to two different addresses which I obtained off their website (by special delivery). Royal mail could not deliver to the last address. I can not reach this company. How can I pay this? Also I can not talk to anyone so I am now robbed of a GCSE. Trading standards issue now? I recommend that you do not go anywhere near this company.

If I could put ZERO stars I would

If I could put ZERO stars I would ! This company have caused us soooo much stress and upset. This was my daughter’s new start and they have now left us in a position where A Levels have been stopped, we don’t have enough money to pursue a new course as we paid in full , are too late in the term to start anything else, we cannot book up exams and as a result cannot go to uni open days as don’t know what is happening .. The amount of anguish this has caused on top of an awful last 3 years is just horrendous .. If you are reading this Absorb I don’t lnow how you are able to sleep at night .. What you have done to us all is unbearably horrendous .. we will be taking this further - you cannot do this to people ... it is heartbreaking . Young people have suffered enough and you think this is ok ????? Has anyone followed this up further and been able to pursue getting their money back please??
