My husband and I brought my Mum into your Stafford store on Saturday 24th August. We were so impressed with John, your store manager there.
My mum has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and needed some adjustments to be made to help her live more comfortably.
She's a very strong willed lady and knew exactly what she wanted going into your store, or thought she did! She didn't come out with what she thought she needed as John was able to explain what she was looking for wasn't appropriate, why this was the case and what would suit her better.
Mum was really impressed, as were we. John was really knowledgeable, patient and had a great sense of humour throughout. We came away with an adjustable bed, adjustable chair, a support frame, cushion and walker with trays that will be absolutely perfect to help her with her current and anticipated future needs.
We were there quite some time, throughout, John was really attentive, listening exactly to my Mum's needs.
You have a fabulous employee in John.

I have been looking for a wheelchair to help me when I go to hospital appointments etc. My son popped into Able world Stafford for me on Sunday 7th January.He spoke to Melanie who was very helpful. She reserved a budget travel chair for me .. my husband took me today 8th January.. we tried the chair and I found it very comfortable and my husband found it easy to push and fold up. Melanie was very patient with us and explained everything. As I had previously bought my mobility scooter from Able world last year we knew we would have a good experience regarding a travel chair.
Thanks Melanie for your help. And to John for having a laugh with me . We can totally recommend this shop,staff and products. best wishes Jackie Sproston

My recent visit to Ableworld at Stafford is one of the most pleasant shopping experiences I have had in a long time. John, Tracy & their staff were so kind, considerate & helpful.
I needed to purchase a riser/recliner chair & John took considerable time, mixed with a 'pinch' of patience, to ensure I purchased the item that best suited my requirements.
My wife & I will continue to visit the Stafford store whenever I have any further requirements, it certainly was a pleasure.

STAFFORD - The store manager, John, has to be the most abrasive man I’ve ever met. Made us feel like a nuisance for asking questions. Didn’t appear to have a sense of humour. Knew nothing about the product he was selling.
The item we want is in stock in the store but we can’t bring it home as it has to be fitted by ableworld at a cost of £80 or the warranty is invalid . Total lie. The manufacturer will sell direct and it can be fitted by ourselves. Able World expect us to take the scooter into the store…. We don’t own a transit van ! And we have to wait 2 weeks for the privilege.
We’ve taken our business elsewhere where they have been helpful and courteous. Will never use Able World Stafford or recommend it to anyone.
I am beyond angry .

We bought a walker from Nantwich for my Dad. After 2 weeks the one brake stopped working. Because we live closer to Stafford we thought we would return it to this branch. When we arrived and asked if we could exchange it for a new one the manager straight said he couldn't exchange it as we'd bought it from Nantwich (this was said quite abruptly without care). Eventually after seeing we weren't too happy he suggested that they would repair it but this would take 2 weeks. My Dad is in ill health, disabled and needs his walker at all times but no real concern was shown regarding this. My Dad was struggling at home without his walker so we decided to collect it back from Stafford and return it back to Nantwich for a new one. On collecting it from Stafford the manager did say they could repair it within the hour but because we were concerned the same thing would happen again with the brake, we decided to take it to Nantwich.
On arrival at Nantwich the lady asked us what was wrong with the walker. We told her the brake was broken and we wanted a replacement. She said it wasn't the store policy to replace the walker and she would change the handle and fix it and it would take 10 minutes. We said we wanted a replacement but she kept saying its not the stores policy. We said its not fit for purpose. She went to fix the handle in the back but realised it would take her a while to do it so she wheeled out a new walker instead. She then kept saying it was there policy to give replacements and refunds for items from other stores and the manager from Stafford was wrong to say he wouldn't replace the walker at Stafford. Then she said the walker which we had returned was in very good condition so she would replace the handle and resell it on the shopfloor. I have never known such poor aftersales service. There was no consistency. Who do you believe??? The new walker we have had from Nantwich looks brand new with instruction booklet, attached bag etc., The first walker looked nothing like this. We had no instruction booklet or bag attached which makes me wonder if it had been returned and repaired like the sales assistant said she was going to do at Nantwich and resell. It's only because we were given a new walker that I've given 2 stars as other than that the aftersales service would be 1 star.

We would like to thank all the team , but particularly Zoe for helping my mum to buy a Scooter. We were able to test drive a few inside and outside the shop , for a more real life experience of using one.This helped my mum to decide which scooter to go for. Lots of explanation , patience and no pressure to buy. We would highly recommend Ableworld.

The store manager Zoe from Stafford store & The specialist advisor Amy from Shropshire & Oswestry stores have helped me whilst we fund raised to get a specialist power chair without their help and advice over the past 2 years I don’t know what I would have done. Zoe was extremely helpful. I know people say it’s there job’ but she put me at ease straight away. She explained everything and repeated it if we needed her to. She was not only helpful and considerate to me but to my husband as well asking him if he was okay with things or needed any extra help with taking it apart and putting it back together. I visited the Stafford branch of Ableworld on Thursday 11th May with my mother and my eldest daughter and the staff were fantastic. We were attended to by Tracey and John and can’t praise them enough for their professional and caring manner. From the moment we walked into the shop we immediately felt comfortable as we were allowed to browse around without feeling pressured to buy. When we needed help we just asked John and Tracey and nothing was too much trouble for them. Purchased 1 powerchair, 1 manual wheelchair and a Walker. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Visited the Stafford Store just before closing on Friday and the service and help was received was outstanding. Originally wanted to purchase a wheelchair but after exploring the options opted for a motability Scooter.
John was really helpful, even came to the car after closing the shop to make sure we had managed to dismantle the scooter and put it in the car.

As a 25 year old disabled woman having to look into accessibility options, it can be incredibly daunting and embarrassing. Since so many still associate accessibility with old age. Zoe and Tracy went above and beyond to keep me comfortable, they were so friendly and helped ease my worries. They answered all of the questions I had(And believe me, I had many) and never once shamed me. They even took into consideration what my mobility issues are without me having to go into detail, for those that aren't as comfortable sharing such personal information(Though I did share a fair bit with them, of my own free will) to help decide on the correct items for me. It's the first time since all of my health issues came to a head at 12, that I truly felt welcome and at home, that people understood me and that my existence wasn't a burden, that I didn't have to be ashamed about something I was born with. Even the gentleman with the cool sunglasses(I didn't catch his name) who was driving the mobility scooters around had a laugh and a quick chat. Every member of staff went above and beyond. So thankful for this shop and the experience I had, I couldn't recommend them enough. They even explained how the VAT exemption worked, and the exemption helped so much. Especially for those who may not have much income, due to having to scrape by on disability benefits. Now I have a cool new glow in the dark walking stick, with a squishy handle that after testing multiple times in the store and at home I can already feel a difference. Next purchase will hopefully be a wheelchair or scooter once I have the funds saved!
