Needed a power chair with attendant control and our first stop was Ableworld St Helens where we have shopped before.
Sadly the range for attendant controlled was extremely limited but Chris showed us the model and was extremely patient with our questions and got a model in with the control for attendant on and we were able to try it out.
No hassle and no pressure and we left with my new power chair. Top marks Ableworld and Chris.
The bad weather and my health delayed us using it but finally used it and delighted how much easier it’s made both our lives.
It’s so light for hubby to lift in and out of car and easy to use.
Can’t wait for a real day out now.

My father and I visited Ablworld in StHelens with a view to purchase a mobility scooter. The range of products available was excellent. In fact there as so many scooters to choose from it was slightly daunting that we made the right choice. However the lady who served us, Chris and her colleagues were exceptional, taking time to explain the various advantages of each one. My Dad was encouraged to try the scooter . We eventually left very happy with the purchase

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ableworld ,St Helens, to everyone who needs help with any/ all mobility issues. I was looking for an electric wheelchair but one that I would also be able to push. From the moment I walked into the shop I felt at ease. Chris was brilliant.
She explained everything in detail and was very knowledgeable. She was patient,smiley and understanding. I visited the shop with a friend, my daughter and twice on my own to be sure I was choosing the right wheelchair for me.Each time ,I felt at ease. Nothing was too much trouble.The wheelchair arrived within a couple of days. Chris even put it in my car for me.A very big thank you ,Chris.
Finally, all staff I met were friendly and helpful.

Vicky also showed us other scooter options and went through all the pros & cons of each.

I used Ableworld because I thought they were mobile repairers. I accepted the charge of £70 engineering call out fee as reasonable and expected to be charged for the repair done on site. The engineer had no tools and did not check out the scooter on my premises. He simply loaded it into his van and took it away. I thought charging £191.77 for a magnetic brake to be very expensive when they can be bought on internet for £50.

Can’t praise highly enough the level of service that we received from Vicky at the St Helens store. My mum was discharged early from Whiston Hospital and they went the extra mile to speed up the delivery of her hospital type bed by going out of their way to get one from another Ableworld store. The 2 lads who delivered it were also amazingly helpful and I won’t forget the kindness of the whole St Helens team in the way they handled a potentially very stressful situation for us. Thank you very much.

Just had a power battery fitted to my wheelchair the people at ableworld were amazing they went through everything with us and got the right battery for my wheelchair it was fitted and delivered back to me within a few days.....thank you so much for your help and quick fitting....thank you to the two men that delivered it and brought it in for me....

Have visited the St Helen’s store on numerous occasions and the staff are always helpful, They have given us valuable advice and recommendations. No big sales push just really helpful and always pleasant. It’s nice that they take time to listen and give their recommendations.

Came to purchase a walker today at st.Helens store Very poor customer service, stood by the service area all the time and I had to shout over to her to ask question about the item. Will not be returning.

Whilst on holiday in June one of the brake levers on my wife's 4 wheel walker became detached and I could not fix it. On return from holiday we took the walker back to the Ableworld store in St Helens where we bought it.
As the warranty had only just expired by a few days by the time we returned from holiday we were advised that we would have to pay for a repair if the part was available. The model we had bought had been withdrawn. I suggested the walker should be replaced as not fit for purpose but to no avail. As the Manager was not in the store at the time on a Friday afternoon we were promised she would phone back on Monday morning.
By 11.30 on the Monday I had not received a call back so phoned the store and spoke with the Manager who said she was herself awaiting a call regarding availability of a part. She said she would phone back. That was 7 days ago and no phone call has been received.
I think this is a case of stalling until the client gets fed up and goes elsewhere.

We had a riser recliner chair delivered,and the gentlemen that delivered it, Bill and Paul and put it together for us were so helpful and polite they went above and beyond to make sure eveything was right.I asked if they could help with finding the right ramp for us and without hesitation they went back to the shop and returned with the ramps with no obligation to buy, we were very happy with the equipment and so paid over the phone for it.These two lovely gentelmen sorted everything all in all for us in around one hour .Very Happy with this excellent service

We had a reconditioned stairlift fitted, we were pleasantly surprised at the cost. Callum did the estimate for the fitting and Lee did the brilliant job of fitting it ,both were brilliant. Me and my Wife are now able to go up our stairs without struggling. I would highly recommend this company.

after waiting six months for my wifes scooter to be repaired and hearing nothing from ableworld i wrote a review giving one star for bad service,suddenly my scooter has turned up at my local shop. an email from a director from the office on sherdley road tells me they have been trying to get in touch since last year. as my wife is disabled and mostly house bound i always have my mobile phone with me and check my emails everyday.they have obviously not been in touch and are trying to pass the blame on myself. i have just read all the one star reviews and there's a lot of them customer service is not one of their strong points I would never recommend anyone buying from them.they are just trying to cover up their incompetence by lying.you get the same response to every review to speak to ableworld support who are supposed to help you,didn’t help me much,and how they can justify charging £70 an hour labour charge is beyond me, my local garage doesn’t charge so much,do your homework before getting involved with ableworld.

Recently bought an A-Frame Walker from St Helens branch.
Received excellent service from a young female assistant, who showed us a variety of walkers.
Very happy using the A-Frame and feels sturdy and comfy to sit on. Like the fact that the brake cables are within the frame.
Only complaint is carrying it when folded. There's no fastening of any kind to hold it together and it tends to partially open up again. Also there is no comfortable hand hold to pick it up. Dropped 1 star for this. Otherwise very satisfied.

My mobility scooter was picked up for a service on the 10th of may and was informed that it would take 2 days on the 12th I received a call from the engineer informing me that it would need new batteries as they were only holding 50% charge he went on to say it’s really fast and was a great scooter at this time I informed him I didn’t have the funds at this time and requested it’s return. He informed me that he didn’t have a vehicle and wouldn’t be able to return it until Tuesday I agreed to this.
On Tuesday 16th I received a call that he needed to pick up my charger and that they didn’t have one that size? On Thursday 18th I called the shop talking to members of staff put me through to the workshop where I was informed he had the motor in bits on the bench I asked why he told me he was cleaning it?called again on Friday to be told that it’s now coming up with a engine fault and would need a new engine that’s going to cost £600, I had cleaned it and checked everything was working ok there wasn’t a fault when it was picked up. Finally returned on 23rd Tuesday in a unsafe and very dangerous condition as all the battery lug covers had not been replaced or on 100amp trip fuse
I was ask to sign for it but didn’t as they didn’t have any paperwork to say what’s was carried out on the service or my receipt

The service off this company was second to none, from walking into store on Monday 19/12/22 to an extremely fast delivery on Wednesday 21/12/22 the girls in store where so helpful & as for Bill & Terry who delivered our chair they where amazing, gave a full demonstration & explained everything to us
