Muc Off chain cleaner price matching
I was looking for a Muc off chain cleaner online and I found a price cheaper than 99 bikes. Knowing that 99 bikes have a policy that if you find a cheaper price of the same item elsewhere, they will match it and beat it by 5%. I contacted 99 bikes to inform them that I would like a price match for this item, they checked it out and within minutes, they matched it and beat it by 5%. What a deal.

Really bad customer service
I am a seasoned BMX racer, mountain biker & gravel bike rider…..basically I have been pretty heavily involved with bikes for 30years so I know bikes & bike culture. Went into your new store in Braeside/Mordialloc to enquire about getting some wheels off my belt drive bike rebuilt. Got nothing but a “I’m better than you” vibe from the guys working behind the counter & in the workshop, I was actually really shocked by the attitudes off these dudes…..this type of attitude cannot be doing good for your business as I can only imagine someone who is new to riding or a family trying to get into riding having to deal with this cockiness (my apologies..I honestly struggle to find a better way to describe the way these blokes were conducting themselves) when they walk into your store to buy a bike, prices were pretty steep too (approximately $30-$40 more expensive than other reputable wheel builders in Collingwood).
I work in a large multinational car company & was discussing this with a few other riders at my work place only to find that some of these guys had had the exact same type of interaction at the same store!
At the end of the day I ended up getting my wheels built by Mordialloc cycles because basically, the guy doesn’t come across as a flog.

Amazing service at the Mordialloc branch
Purchased a new dual suspension Merida from the guys at Mordialloc, excellent service as usual from the staff. Gave me an amazing deal on the bike and a few accessories and got the tech to adjust some bits on the bike while I was there. Cant recommend these guys enough really friendly, no hard sales tactics just real honest, had not great experiences with some other big name bike branches so really good to find somewhere local that provides such good customer service.

99 bikes delivered the online purchase quickley even during the busy Chrismas period. Unfortunately it did not fit me so I was able to return it at a local store. I would have exchanged it for a larger size but it was not avaliable.

Where do I start with my click and collect experience with 99 Bikes Mordialloc? We've spent a lot of money in 99 bikes stores and won't be in the future. Firstly we arrived and we're waiting in the cold for 15 minutes minimum to be served whilst one staff member was doing stocktaking, one was talking to a customer about their new bike in the carpark and another was on the phone. I then explained to Fasal the staff member as I hadn't been able to get through on the phone that I needed to cancel the order of the bike as I'd ordered and picked up the larger model at another shop. He then proceeded to bring the bike out where I had to explain that I needed to arrange a return not pickup which he arranged and that the return would hit my bank account several days later. The other two items were a pair of gloves and pedals which were picked and handed to me. As soon as I got in the car the gloves looked to small and I checked the invoice and they were the incorrect size which I swapped at the door. I left the store then received a call from the store apologising as they didn't take my bank account details to arrange the refund so I pulled over and shared these (was like it was the first time a refund was ever done). I then got home and showed the pedals to my son who advised that the pedals were the wrong colour and I checked the order and they were indeed wrong. I called the store again frustrated and advised that this was the third error made to which Fasal advised "there were no black pedals in the country in any store" which I quickly countered with the fact I'd found multiple stores with stock, miraculously a black pair were found in the store. The final insult came with the store offering to "put them aside for me to pickup" which I kindly told them no they needed to be sent to me for the inconvenience caused which Fasal arranged. Astonishingly I've not been contacted to return the incorrect pedals meaning the store is out of pocket and stock for the pedals I was sent incorrectly. The real test will be whether this review is followed up by anyone to get the incorrect pedals back.

Glad this wasn't a gift where the box was important
The bike was fine, the service was ok. I bought a bike for my son via 99 bikes mordialloc, which they had to transfer from one store to another within Melbourne. This was advised via sms that this would take 5 business days to transfer. I agree to the transfer time.
A bit after 1 week I followed up on the order, only to find out that the number that sms'd me was turned off and not taking calls. No issue, I called up the store, they don't know about the bike at all. Then they change their tune 'oh yeah it arrived today'. Ok whatever, the bike is there. So I go to the store, usual COVID precautions, you have to wait in the car park as a way of being served, not a problem. Whilst in the car park I can see the bike box from inside the window of the store. It's been taped up a lot.
The guy serves me, and then goes inside and prep's the order, at this stage I realise the guy is cutting open the bike box and taking stuff out and scanning it. 15 mins pass and the guy comes out and informs me that, 'oh yeah sorry about the wait we had to get stuff out of the box that we had transferred from another store' and proceeds to hand me a scuffed and taped up box.
Thankfully this wasn't a gift to someone where the presentation was important because it wasn't great. I ask about this and they have no recourse because they don't have any other stock to swap the box with. So after some blank looks i head off.
The only reason i went via 99 bikes for this transaction was the price. Going forward unless they've got the stock at the store i think i'll pass.
