Ordered the wrong part

Ordered the wrong part. Electrician fitted it (3 wires, like a plug) then removed it. 2kshops won't accept return as "it is used". On this basis, one shouldn't try on a pair of shoes. Consumer contract regulations state it can be returned.

To clarify the facts for readers: the product supplied was confirmed as not faulty and was electrically installed, connected, and tested by an electrician. Once electrical control equipment has been installed and tested, it is classified as used and cannot be returned or resold for safety, compliance, and warranty traceability reasons.

Electrical controllers are not comparable to trying on clothing. Compatibility must be confirmed before installation, and this responsibility lies with the purchaser or installer.
We apply the same policy consistently to all customers and manufacturers. While we regret the inconvenience, our decision was correct and in line with standard industry practice.

Great supplier - valve for heater

We purchased a valve, which was incredibly difficult to find. They were nothing but helpful, communication was perfect, we received the part and it is working well. A respectable, no-nonsense company. A highly recommended supplier who are a pleasure to work with.

Refused to honour manufacturer’s warranty.

This shop also trades as Kestakon Limited. It is based in Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ.

I purchased a Siemens valve from them, and it was great value, and arrived super quick. The trouble is, it failed. The owner, Konstantinos Stamatakos, stated they only offer a warranty of 12 months. (It was 18 months old). Siemens guarantee the part for 60 months and state they would replace it, but it has to go back to the original wholesaler, for exchange. Konstantinos refused, but offered to sell me another one. Siemens have no knowledge of Kestakon Limited, or 2KShops, and they do not supply them. So where in the world did my faulty part come from?

Lovely response from 2kshops. However, as requested I have already submitted photographs of the valve installation, and the name of the registered installation company. (Future Renewables Energy Systems Ltd), and the name of the actual plumber, and the electrical company that hard wired everything in, so why do I still have the faulty valve?

We did not refuse to replace the faulty item even after 18 months. However, we must adhere to the policies laid out by the manufacturers to validate these warranties. In this case, Siemens requires that their parts are installed by a certified installer for their warranty to remain valid.

In your case, if you could not provide proof of certified installation, our offer was intended to provide support and ease the situation: free shipping and a significant discount on the replacement part. We understand that this may not have been the ideal solution, but it was made with the intention to provide some relief in a challenging circumstance.
