Dear Currys,

I am leaving this review as a formal complaint regarding the purchase of a faulty mobile phone from one of your stores on 24 July 2026. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this matter, I have been repeatedly denied a refund or replacement, and my concerns have not been addressed appropriately. I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I have received and the way this situation has been handled.

For clarity, I have outlined the events below.

1. Initial return attempt – July 2026

I purchased a mobile phone in store on 24 July 2026. Approximately one week later, I returned to the store to request a return because the phone was faulty and was not functioning properly.

The staff initially refused to accept the return. I explained that the phone was malfunctioning, but they insisted that they would need to carry out tests and instructed me to return the following day.

When I returned, I was informed that they could not identify any faults and that I would not be permitted to return the phone. However, the phone continued to malfunction, and I was unable to use it reliably. Currys needs to investigate why my rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 had been breached

The thing that made the experience better was the guy who helped me and my son pick a pc,mouse and monitor for Christmas.The staff who helped me was super helpful and my son wanted a specific pc and the staff that helped us said to us the oc isn't available in store yet and he changed my autistic sons mind and I can't even do that,I really appreciate the help the staff that helped me.

Hello, all the staff that work in Currys are on minimum wage so you buying a £149 fridge won't put a £75 bonus in their pocket , if you spend £1000 they might get a quid and I mean might. So don't cry about staff when the first words out of your gob was I want ! A please or thank you never killed anyone and remember Buy cheap buy twice.

I more or less knew what I wanted with no fuss and the assistant who served us was very helpful giving solid advice

The member of staff I dealt with was helpful and efficient, got me sorted with a minimum of fuss.

From I ordered my Item I was Kept informed by email and text when to expect delivery to store. It actually arrived a few days early which was great. Great item and a great price.

Very happy, bought a washing machine, it was delivered and the old one taken away. The whole experience was efficient and customer friendly. Well done Currys x

It was easy to order online and then go to the Newtownabbey store to pick up our order. Furthermore Curry’s Flexi Pay meant we could choose the ‘Pay over Six Months interest free’ option which suited us perfectly as it has done for previous purchases.

INSTALLATION NOT CARRIED OUT AND ITEM DAMAGED ON DELIVERY

Purchased £500 dishwasher on Wed and paid for delivery, recycle of old dishwasher and insatllation of the new doshwasher.

The dishwasher arrived with existing damage to the door and they were also unable to complete the insatllation.

They simply cut off the existing electric cable from the old appliance and left us with our existing hard wired electricity cable just dangling but at least they have left us a new plug fitting for us to then source a professional technician/plumber who will now install our dishwasher.

UPDATE 18 OCTOBER 2026

The installers have abandoned the installation of my new Hisense HV663A60UK dishwasher, misinformed me on basic regulations, and left my kitchen in a fundamentally dangerous, hazardous condition.
The installers committed the following severe violations:
Created a Severe Electrical Shock/Fire Hazard: My existing Kenwood dishwasher was safely hardwired into a dedicated, wall-mounted Switched Fused Spur connection above the worktop. Instead of safely disconnecting the appliance from the terminals or refusing the job safely prior to work, your installers cut the power cable with tools, leaving raw, bare, exposed copper wires sitting directly on my kitchen floor. If the above-counter switch is flipped on, these wires immediately carry 230V of live mains electricity.
Left an Illegal, Unsafe Workaround: The installers left a 1-gang unswitched socket and back box on my counter, instructing me to "get a plumber" to use them to replace my emergency above-counter wall switch. Suggesting that a plumber perform mains electrical modifications to remove a mandatory emergency isolation switch violates UK wiring regulations.
Created an Immediate Internal Flood Risk: The installers forcibly pulled the waste hose off my under-sink plumbing spigot and left the wastewater pipe completely wide open, merely wrapping it in tissue paper. If the kitchen sink is run, water pours directly out into my cupboard, creating a severe leak hazard right next to the bare, cut electrical cables.

Furthermore, the physical unit itself arrived with existing structural/cosmetic damage. The side metal casing of the dishwasher is visibly dented, buckled, and deformed near the panel seam. I raised the delivery condition with the duty manager, who only offered a standard 10% discount for the damage. While a 10% discount is a baseline concession solely for accepting structurally compromised stock, it does absolutely nothing to address the severe, illegal, and life-threatening hazards your installation team subsequently left behind on my property.

UPDATE 19 OCTOBER 1630:

Despite following the direction of contacting Currys. I have still not been contacted regarding this matter.
