Disappointing Experience – Be Careful of Unwanted Extras
I recently purchased a laptop from Currys Beckton and had a very disappointing experience.
During the purchase, additional services including McAfee antivirus, VPN and cloud storage were added without my clear knowledge or permission. I was not properly informed about these services or their associated charges.
After discovering this, I contacted Currys customer service, who advised me to return to the store. I spoke to the manager, who acknowledged that this was an issue with pushy selling by a member of staff. They corrected my receipt.
However, I am still receiving activation messages for services I never requested or wanted.
I appreciate the manager’s assistance, but customers should never have to go through this situation after simply purchasing a laptop.
My advice to everyone buying from Currys: Always check your receipt carefully before leaving the store. Ask about every additional charge, subscription or service, even if the salesperson tells you it is free.
I hope Currys takes this feedback seriously and ensures that customers are properly informed and asked for permission before any additional services are included.
