Sam at Clarks at the middlebrook branch Horwich was very helpful and gave very good customer service when me and my granddaughter visited He measured her feet carefully and we got a wider fitting shoe which was definitely needed Thank you Sam

I recently purchased two pairs of shoes from the Clarks Ashford International Outlet. After changing my mind, I decided to return them and took them with me to the Clarks Bridgend Outlet on Saturday, 8 August, while travelling to Wales for my holiday. I had the original receipt with me.

The gentleman serving me explained that, as more than two weeks had passed, I could not receive a refund, but he offered me two alternatives: an exchange or a gift card for the full amount I had paid. He then went to check with the manager, presumably to confirm the policy.

Unfortunately, this is where the experience became extremely disappointing.

The manager apparently told the staff member that the store “couldn’t do anything” for me. What I found particularly unprofessional was that the manager did not come over to speak to me, explain the situation, or offer any clarification whatsoever. He simply said “No” through his staff member.

For me, this is not how a professional manager should deal with a customer. Even if the store’s policy meant that a refund was not possible, I would have expected the manager to have the courtesy and professionalism to speak to me directly and explain the reason clearly and respectfully.

As a result, I had no choice but to leave the Bridgend store and drive all the way back to the Ashford Outlet the following day, Sunday 9 August — around an hour’s drive from my home. When I arrived at Ashford, the staff confirmed that I could exchange the shoes or receive a gift card, which I accepted.

I want to make it very clear that the Ashford Outlet staff deserve full marks. They were helpful, professional and dealt with the situation properly.

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the management at the Bridgend Outlet. In my opinion, the manager seriously needs training in customer service, communication and professional management. A manager should be able to speak to a customer directly, explain a decision and handle a situation respectfully — even when the answer is not what the customer wants to hear.

Ashford Outlet: 5/5 for professionalism and customer service.
Bridgend Outlet: extremely disappointing experience.

I hope Clarks takes this feedback seriously and provides the Bridgend management team with appropriate customer-service training.

Booked an appointment for the dreaded back to school shoe shopping. The Cardiff store was great, good choice of shoes in the school range and a foot measure as well to check sizing.
Melissa was great, she was very knowledgeable, fitted shoes and checked how things were going with my daughter. Highly reccommend this store and always worth booking an appointment for school shoes.

Was served by Vaisakh S in the Peterborough serpentine store 9/8/26 A very patient young man with my 4 year old, not so cooperative Grandson. Thank you for fitting him with his first pair of school shoes.

Visited clarks at Fosse park. Was helped by Becky today, she was fast and efficient and helped and measured my teenage children. Sorted the shoes they wanted and best bit for me, it was over without and arguments due to the speed, loved it.

We popped in Clarks in Selly Oak for some school shoes for my youngest and Gibril served us. He was incredibly patient with my daughter wanting different styles and trying different widths until we got the perfect fit

We had an amazing experience at the Selly Oak store today.Amazing Amat helped us to get the right school shoes for our daughter.Helped us with to get the right size ass well.Just a brilliant person.

We bought my husband some shoes in the shop in Great Yarmouth. We were asked by Lucy if we needed any help after a couple of minutes and she left us to carry on looking at our leisure. We found some shoes my husband wanted to try and she went and got them for us straight away. The size he tried were slightly large so Lucy immediately went and brought us a pair half a size smaller which were perfect. We were very impressed with the shoes which we thought excellent quality and value for money and the service we received was excellent. Highly recommended

We went for some shoes to Clarks branch in Grafton street and the staff named Webber was very nice, very friendly, proactive and she made us feel welcomed 😊 10/10

Ash helped my two daughters choose the correct shoes to go back to school. I have to say Ash was extremely knowledgeable and advised the girls with the best shoe to fit them. His knowledge of the shoes was excellent most importantly of all very patient with my two girls. Thank you so much.

I was at Clarks on Argyle Street, Glasgow this morning with my 8 year old daughter. We were served by Amy, who was brilliant. She put my daughter at ease, was knowledgeable and friendly and went the extra mile to help us find suitable shoes to order when there wasn't quite what we wanted in store. Thank you Amy! Fiona

First school shoe fit for my daughter at Worcester High Street. Caitlin was brilliant, so patient and engaging with my daughter and took the time to make sure she had shoes she loved that fit perfectly.

The customer service was exceptional, bilal at West Bromwich branch was absolutely fantastic.
I was struggling with my daughters school shoes and bilal and benz went above and beyond to help me.
I am now leaving thos store a very happy customer and mommy.

Went into the Abbeycentre store today to see about buying my daughter new school shoes. Holly dealt with us, she was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble and she helped my daughter make the right decision.Store very busy however Holly was totally focused on us. Hopefully she will enjoy strawberry juice as a well earned treat.

Calum was brilliant today and came away with three sets of shoes just due to his help and assistance. Calum went to stock room for particularly sizes for the shoes which made a difference for us. Thank you Clarks and especially to Calum. Cheshire Oaks Store.

Really disappointed with my recent experience of shoe fitting for my toddler. Sadly staff aren’t trained enough or correctly and my toddler is left with shoes that aren’t fitted properly.
Also had a poor interaction with customer service when I complained and was completely ignored when I asked for it to be dealt with by management.

We were served by Callum today and he was so friendly and efficient. He helped my little girl get measured and we picked her shoes. He’s great. Patient and kind. Couldn’t recommend Callum enough!
