My Varta battery gave up after only 14 months of use. They have no customer service. No Varta battery ever again, beware of that scam company.

Installed in May 2022. Car started smelling like sulphur. Varta battery bloated, leaked and could not start. Replaced with another brand on 11 Oct 2023 after using Varta for only 1 year 5 months.

Batteries leaked and wrecked 2 remotes in a few months.

Didn't use their battery's for long because they died almost immediately. Avoid if possible

Bought pack of AA from Screwfix. Three put into my Pentax camera lasted about three weeks with only about 10 frames taken. Three were put into a small p.i.r light in a larder.They died after a similar length of time. I will be back to Duracell next time.

My 2018 Subaru Outback was fitted with a Varta Q-85R battery after the original failed in 3yrs. The 70aH Varta totally failed in less than 2 years

Spent extra money on a Varta car battery, thinking I would finally have a decent piece of gear. After a year it started failing in winter, tried to file a complaint, not possible, tried use my guarantee, not possible, you as a customer has to prove it was broken at time of purchase. Tried to contact varta here in Germany, not possible. Discovered that Varta has been bought up by some US cooperation and probably doesn't even produce batteries at all. Not made in Germany, thats for sure. Absolute crap product and crap customer service. Absolute rippoff and waste of money. Varta seems to belong to Johnson Controls

I bought a defective battery charger 4 years ago. But since I recently bought a multimeter I discovered it wasn't working as it should.
Reported this to consumer services and they sent me a new one, no questions asked.

I bought a pack of 24 AA batteries about 3 weeks ago and when I took one out of the pack it gave me a shock then turned very hot. I took the pack back to Screwfix where my friend had purchased them for me but the woman said they couldn't take them back or reimburse me because I'd thrown the receipt away even though they could trace the sale on their computer.

no issues, no leaks, no duds

Bought a blister pack of 4 CR2032 earlier this year with Best Before date 7-2030! Opened the pack today and the batteries are flat they are all reading "replace" on battery meter. Can't remember where bought and Varta customer services are ignoring my emails

I don’t know how good the battery is as I haven’t been able to fit it yet as I need some information to code it so the review is regarding their customer service. Phoned 14 times just goes to answer phone, emailed 3 times no reply and nothing from the web enquiry form. Will not be buying anything Varta in the future.

After less than 6 months the heavy duty car battery failed. it cost over £100. There was no reply to several emails from Varta head office and other Varta contacts. Not interested. The 5 year warranty isnt worth the paper its printed on. Avoid Varta.

i bought varta battery for my car on April 13th and it become completely deflective in June 9th I returned to the shop and he confirmed it's factory defect but he forced me to pay almost 20% of its price to change it to new one without any valid reason . Battery went dead after 2 months !! and your distributor forced me to pay to change it

bought 20 AA of them, all turned bad after maybe 5 charges. My last VARTA, forever.

What cheap pieces of Crap these batteries are. Do not buy because you will be extremely disappointed

Don't buy varta batteries absolute rubbish !! Bought a whole packet they weren't man enough for my hive clock to work ( and there isn't much power in a hive clock !?)

Seriously my favourite batteries. I guess i'm lucky but what can i say, i have tried many different brands for my wireless mouse, Varta lasted the longest.

Dreadful, useless batteries. Sold in big packs at Bunnings, they seem excellent value - but be warned, THEY ARE NOT! I have used their AA alkaline gold-top batteries twice in a digital camera. Each time they ran out of juice after 15 or so photos. Unbelievable! This is a camera that happily ran on bog-standard Coles alkaline batteries for perhaps 50 or 60 photos. AVOID!
