I can’t access my savings account
I can’t access my savings account. I went online to withdraw money. I tried to use the Quick Transfer option but it only allowed me to transfer money back into the account that I was transferring out of. I then had to set up a payment to my current account but it wouldn’t transfer. I called Cahoot who said that I was trying to transfer too much (why didn’t a message come up to tell me that?). I tried again with the maximum amount the Cahoot operator advised. Again, it was too much. I tried a lower figure which worked until I got to the point where Cahoot was supposed to send me an OPT number. It didn’t, so I logged out and tried again at which point the system locked me out. I called Cahoot back who said they would have to send me new login details in the post which would take 4-6 days. I was told that there is no other way to get my money even though it is an instant access account and I desperately need it. Even if it hadn’t locked me out it isn’t instant access if there are limits on what you can withdraw in a single day. The second Cahoot operator said she could have sorted this out over the phone if the system hadn’t locked me out. The first operator I spoke to didn’t bother to tell me this. A useless on-line system and totally inept staff

Would do 1 star, opened an account they make it IMPOSSIBLE to log in, they send you a letter which takes 10 days to come with a new temporary password + Key, you use that create a new one then try log in with the new one it doesnt let you, I rung up to withdraw my money as its becoming a joke, they said they need to send ANOTHER letter and then i have to ring give them the temporary pin. I had a guy on the phone from belfast telling me I am the one forgetting my pin which is completely incorrect as per the other reviews- I got no apology avoid this company absolutely shocking never experienced anything like it.
Useless, poor log on.
So opened a savings account and now want to put funds in, attempted 6 times to log in and get a sms message with the so called better log in system they have and not 1 SMS. So not going to bother putting any money in and find an alternative bank.
Should be called Caput not Cahoot. So their advise is send a secure message , why didn't I think of that , oh wait I can't long in to send a secure message.
Repeated failure to respond to requests…
Repeated failure to respond to requests for certified balance to support visa application resulting in lost appointment. Why does it take Cahoot 10 days to action anything. Also not part of the clearing bank account transfer service. Appalling excuse for a bank. Some staff endeavour to be helpful and it cannot be satisfying to work for an organisation with such a pitiful rating as evidenced by many here.
The worst banking experience ever.
Horrendous. Please Trustpilot bring 0 stars into your rating score! Was trying to get my money out to open an ISA before the end of the tax year. Just as I was transferring the money, I was suddenly logged out of my account and then told all my details were incorrect so couldn't log in again. Customer service have been useless and I'm told they can do nothing to help me after spending all morning on the phone. There system is to send 'new' details through the post, so will miss the ISA deadline. A very frustrating April Fools. Time to say goodbye to Cahoot and Santander and will be closing all my accounts. Will be advising all friends and family to do the same. So angry and shocked that a bank can treat their customers this was. Feels like a scam to hold onto your hard earned money. Shame on you Cahoot!
Many problems
Many problems. They have a passcode and password system that browsers struggle with so I needed to reset my password. This took many days and they as a rule send your login and password through the post! I needed proof of funds for a house deposit but they cannot provide statements so I had to move the money to another bank. I finally tried to change my address and it doesn't think the new address is valid (very normal address) so I would have to apply by post. At this stage they seem so backward that associating my details with them feels dangerous so I will be cancelling my account.
Access problems++
Thought others should know that accessing the savings account is fraught with problems phone and laptop. They were very efficient in walking me through closing the account over the phone as could not access my savings online. I hope they sought out their problems, feedback I gave when closing.
Don't use this bank
Don't use this bank. It is like banking from 50 years ago. There is no online support - updated information is posted to you so there is at least a week's delay in getting anything sorted if it goes wrong. I joined on a high interest account but after a year my account was automatically downgraded to a zero interest, basic account without any agreement from me. Despite several phone calls and several sets of letters in the post I am still unable to move my money out of this bank. As it is an online system only there isn't even a building I can go in to get this resolved. Despite helpdesk being polite, the system and processes they are working with are unacceptable.
Gareth
I was having difficulties making an urgent transfer towards the end of the day. Gareth went way beyond the call of duty in helping me accomplish this and even stayed on after the end of his shift to see it through once my fraud check was done.
In the pas I haven't always had such good service from Cahoot: I'v. been given conflicting advice and transactions have been unnecessarily delayed but this time I couldn't have been given better support. Fantastic, Gareth!
Cahoot Saving Accounts
Been using Cahoot for over 1 year now as they were offering some higher than market rate.
The website works well for me over this year but I have to input all the information when I needed to open up a new saving account (instead of being auto filled).
They are thieves
They have stolen my money and just give lame excuses as to why.

Been with them 20+ years and service slowly got worse. Calls cut off, limited opening hours for the call centre, problems not always resolved and the website is very limited. They claim to listen to feedback but improvements are not made.
Avoid.
Avoid. No app, which I didn't realise until too late (made the mistake of assuming every bank nowadays would have one). Have only managed to Login once - Login never works, and if you click on 'Forgotten password' their only solution is to post you new codes which take up to three weeks to arrive. They then also did not work. Called Customer Service, to say codes had been revoked - they didn't know why. And that the ONLY thing they could do was send me some more out via the post, which could take up to three weeks... And then might not work... I actually feel that they've stole my money at this stage, as I cannot access it, and the staff are powerless to help.
Lovely people on the phone
I have just called to close my account and almost changed my mind as the people at Cahoot have always been so courteous and helpful. This time was just as good and the young lady answered quickly, and made it easy. Only closing as not using the account and felt unnecessary to keep. But I may be back :)
I have been trying to close my account…
I have been trying to close my account since last September 2024. Advised this cannot be done online and that I must phone. I have been phoning regularly since then (including sending two emails asking for my account to be closed). No-one answers the phone. I have been holding on now for 20 minutes. I'm about to hang up out of sheer frustration!!!!!! What appalling customer service.
Terrible site
Terrible site, trying to transfer money and constantly kicked back to the home page to start login process again. I've been with cahoot 6 months and this is a regular issue. Should have realised a bank without an app is using ancient tech and can't coupe with modern usage. Time to transfer savings elsewhere.

Victim of fraud
Victim of fraud. Cahoot partly refunded and decided to cancel the refunds, leaving me overdrawn. They allowed 14 fraudulent transactions in 2 hours from the same merchant. No communication from Cahoot and have to chase them. Their security protocole is weak. Shocking
Blocked a transfer after it said it was going through!!
A savings account matured and after making a transfer to another external savings account, I had the usual cahoot message that it is being processed.
However, the transaction was actually being blocked because cahoot it seems blocks the first transaction to a new external account I learned later. Only when I logged in again did I get a message that the account was blocked, but I still assumed the money had been moved.
daft systems and hidden constraints
Helpful (if slow) customer service on phone but systems are v frustrating. They welcome deposits of 'upto £2 million' however transaction limit for withdrawals is only £25k!!! (not that you are told this anywhere on their website, FAQs or printed fact sheets)
Only sensible way for me to access money quickly was to close account, for which i was charged £25 to make CHAPS payment. Did this over the phone which took 25 minutes
security systems also v irritating - why long alphanumeric phone checks rather than just numbers as every other bank does?
