Do not use there are far better companies, dishonest about the size of plants,mine were 200mm shorter ,laurel trees were supposed to be 150cm+ as advertised most were 130cm and not the best quality... Se mer

I was scammed twice by this seller.

I was scammed twice by this seller.
My advise is to stay away.
I wanted to buy bamboo that will serve as a screening fence in my garden and is non invasive clumping bamboo.
First they sold me bamboo that after 3 years turned to be some dwarf variety. They I paid £300 for the replacement but it looks like like nothing on the picture they advertised. Instead of dens plants I received something that has only few stems. I contacted seller but they are not responding.
Dear seller if you planning to replay here with some copy past generic response I suggest to read two messages I sent you on eBay otherwise I escalate this to Small Claim Court.

Here is my response to sellers response below since there is no option to reply to a reply on Trust pilot.

Thank you, Bamboo Kings, for responding here. I have been waiting for your response on eBay since the 15th of May. I am happy to bring this into the public eye so your future customers can have a clear insight into your business practices and how you treat your clients.
1. I sent you a message on eBay nearly two weeks ago, on the 15th of May. Why did you completely ignore it and only respond to me once my complaint became public?
2. Trying to blame your customers for the poor quality of the items you deliver is unprofessional, to say the least. If you list an item on your website, it should look exactly as described.
3. The fact that I tipped your team as an expression of gratitude for their hard work has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the bamboo you delivered. To be perfectly honest, hiding behind your employees reflects very poorly on you. As the head of this company, you should take full responsibility.
4. It is true that you came and dug out the plants you sold me three years ago, which turned out to be the wrong variety. However, please bear in mind that you originally sold me 4 small plants for a total of £59. What you removed from my garden had grown into 9 fully mature nourished plants. Now, you are selling those same plants on your website for £80 each.
5. You claim you could not have done more. I can suggest what you should have at least done: provide plants that actually match the advertisement picture. Instead, what I received was a version that looks like had been trimmed down by more than 50%. Having In mind you already made a mistake you should take extra care to deliver something that match the description.
6. Finally, please bear in mind that because of your mistakes, I have lost three years of growth and now have to start my privacy screen completely from scratch.

Here is 2nd response:

- Yes, missing messages from your clients by nearly 2 weeks is something that should not happened I agree. This may lead to more escalation.
- To save yourself more surprises in the future I would suggest to tighten you selling procedures.
- Saying that " as a good will gesture we still rectified the issue with more established plants" is not accurate. I bought this plants from you for £300.
- What time will you be here on Monday to dug out those plants. I assume you are referring to Monday 25th? Kind Regards

No, thank you. No need to bring more bamboos. Just remove those four on Monday and process full refund.

Hi we are sorry to hear this. We are aware of the situation with the wrong bamboo sent first time which was clump forming but the wrong species. We sent our team out and free of charge we replaced the plants at no extra cost to you. You were present at the time of planting the new plants when our staff arrived to plant them and you didnt mention any issues with the plants. Infact you even tipped the staff money and said what a great job they did. You have now opened a return for the 4 original replacement plants we supplied and planted. We advise you return these or we will send our team to come and collect them from you and refund in full on return. We dont think you have been "scammed" infact we have tried to go above and beyond to rectify your issues and we still have not been successful. We issued you a full refund of the original order against the new plants as well as agreed. There is not much more we could have done to provide you with such a good service!

Hi thanks for your reply. We haven't seen any messages from you ebay these may have been missed we have checked back and they have not been received. The plants we collected were very mature plants with 100s of species and you buying only small clumps there is always an issue when buying small clumps like you purchased originally (£12.99) that an error was made. We are surprised it took 3 years for any issue to arise but as a good will gesture we still rectified the issue with more established plants.

The plants collected were gained back as property of Bamboo Kings. This was rectified by a refund for the original order.

Aside of the above please have the plants ready for collection on Monday as we will be in your area and they will be collected and a full refund provided.

Again we are unsure why it took 3 years from your original purchase to raise a complaint. However we have done everything in our power to rectify the issue. Hopefully once these plants are collected and a full refund provided this will be a satisfactory remedy to problem.

Again we are immensely sorry this has caused you so many problems but will endeavour to solve your issue in full.

Hi thanks so much for the reply - the collection will be around 9am from you. We are also sending down 5 very large bamboos completely free of charge over 10ft that will instantly supply the screening required. Thanks again for your understanding and again sorry for the issues caused. Have a great Bank Holiday weekend the guys will be there on Monday 25th.

Changed my review, I never recieved my order sadly. It got lost in transit but according to Klarna my refund is on the way. Thank you.

Bought a large olive tree - online, questions answered quickly and more info supplied when asked, fast dispatch (same day - as purchase) - tree delivered on pallet - really secured and wrapped in packaging for protection - perfect and would highly recommend

Bay trees and olive

I have just had 6 bay trees and an olive tree delivered .
They are all so healthy ,better than I expected and excellent prices.
Staff were really helpful when I was making decisions.

This company is amazing! They pack their plants superbly, postage is quick & the Bamboo plants I bought (x6) were all over 6ft tall, green, healthy & with plenty of rootball, new shoots & amount of canes. Wonderful for instant privacy screening! Better quality, far taller & bigger than anything you'd get from the garden centre & for half the price. I was worried about buying Bamboo during November but once planted, they lay dormant & are looking ok 👍 🍃 so I bought 2 more! Thank you #BambooKings, your plants are fantastic & your customer service is above & beyond! 5🌟 sellers!

Good quality

Informative and reliable - l was nervous buying online without seeing the bamboo, however communication was great over the phone and text, pictures were sent before l ordered. Good delivery time and packaged well. Would definitely use again.

Excellent customer service, great plants

I ordered 6 x 2m Red Robin. Luke waa very patient with all my questions! When I explained about limited access for delivery, without me asking, he arranged for van instead of lorry delivery which made it so much easier for me. Plants are healthy and as described and I would definitely buy again. Highly recommend

Olive tree

Excellent all round, can’t fault anything. Communication great, helpful at the nursery and a fantastic olive tree to boot. Very good prices, quality plants. My wife was delighted!

Won't give me a refund d on a diseased…

Won't give me a refund d on a diseased plant. The plant arrived looking not healthy. The new tips of the Photina had turned black, other leaves were curled in in themselves and the rest of the tree was covered in a spots. I checked and it looks like it has a fungal disease. Bamboo kings said they would send a courier for it and contact the supplier. Supplier said there was nothing wrong with the plant. You just need to take one look at it to know it's a sick plant. I am extremely disappointed. They won't give me a refund until the plant is collected. So are they not collecting it so they don't have to pay me?

Hi sorry to hear this - the courier tried to collect first time but was not successful so we have re booked the collection. All our plants are inspected by DEFRA and considered disease and pest free its the law and we have to obey by it. We sent your photos to the grower and thier health inspector also said the plants are not diseased. We have since re arrnaged the collection and will of course refund in full on return. We have made you aware it could have been down to stress in transport. The certificate to say the plants are pest and disease free is available on request. Hopefully when the plant is returned we will solve this matter in full. Many thanks

Amazing trees and service

I recently contacted this company for two Red Robin trees. It was not their usual size of order, but Luke and his team were so accommodating and helpful throughout.

They allowed me to visit their premises and choose the trees in person, which made such a difference and meant I could get exactly what I needed.

It was a real pleasure buying from them. The quality of all the trees and plants they had in stock was outstanding, and my Red Robins are in fantastic condition.
Excellent service, lovely people, and great prices too.

Avoid

Bought on eBay , spent almost £200 on bamboo and recieved a bag of £5 logs . Seem largely uninterested , communication very low. stated they would post again then I heard nothing . Awaiting eBay taking action.

Hi Patrcia, we are aware of the on going case in ebay. They have put the case on hold for 5 working days (we are not sure why) but as per the communications between us, we agreed to re-send the the plants (free of charge) to you. There seems to be an error with recycling tracking numbers with DX where they re-use a tracking number for a previous parcel delivery. Rest assured, we are aware of the situation and will always refund or send new items if they are not delivered. Ebay are in touch with us directly through our account manager to solve the problem. We dont sell logs.. we are a plant business and we have directly communicated with DX as well to have a driver interview as to why our bamboo parcel (your plants) was delivered as logs. If we can be of anymore assistance please do not hesitate to call us on 01932 910246 and we can assist you further.

EDIT 23/02/2026 - Hi Patrcia, we can see that Ebay have issued a full refund now although we had re-sent the items on Friday we will re call this parcel as a full refund has been issued to you. Sorry for the inconvenience, the original parcel has been found as well by DX.
