What you read is not what you get at & Other Stories

Due to mobility issues I am 100% reliant on the internet for both food and clothing and more. I am very careful to read everything before purchasing. When I purchased a 100% Mulberry Silk dress from &Other Stories (a division of H+M) I expected it to BE 100% silk. Online states it is. The label attached to the dress I received states it is. Alas, it is not. It is 50% polyester and 50%m.silk. I called the number provided online to see what they knew, the polite person I first spoke with did not know more than what is on the site. Earlier I had found a label inside that by law states where it is made: China (oh no), the outer fabric is m.silk and the lining is polyester! I would not have bothered with this purchase if the site was clear about what the dress "material" was made of - it was not 100% silk. After consulting with a higher up, I was told I could have 5% off. I thought this a bit of a slap in the face so I asked to speak to this manager. To sum this conversation up: very negative, eventually bordering on rude, and did not want to try to make me feel better about their wrong. I felt as if I should just suck it up. H+M knows the laws of labeling I'm sure so being "new" cannot be offered as an excuse as it was offered to me by this woman. Given that, I don't think she even knew who the parent company was. I feel I was handled as if I didn't matter and that the woman who I spoke with was determined to not make me feel better about THEIR MISTAKE. Not too long ago I bought a pair of shoes online again from Clarks. They sent me the wrong width by mistake. The girl who took my call about this was so apologetic and before I could say anything offered me £10.00 off my next purchase. This was on a pair of shoes that cost £30.00. I was impressed. This silk dress from &OS cost me £79.00. Their offer of 5% is less than a fiver. YOU BE THE JUDGE.

they solved my problem! I got all my money back!

I paid a romanian firm to unlock my iPhone 5s, and never heard anything from them other than that they would do the job in 30 days. When 30 days had passed and nothing happened I asked to get my money back. To my big surprise I got them!

Not to be trusted. Fake reviews.

I've read down the reviews of companies on this site and many seem to have been pulled when they are criticising a company. This happened to me too and my review was not posted. This means the results are skewed, this site can't be trusted at all. Even reading down the results on this page, there seem to be lots praising trustpilot from reviewers who aren't even in the UK. Why aren't they leaving reviews for their own trustpilot sites? Strikes me the good reviews are fake in an attempt to raise the score of trustpilot uk as so many people are angry with them. Best place I find for getting honest and balanced reviews is a very popular shopping site beginning with A. I won't post the name or this review will probably be pulled.

One week and still no review posted for Postagesupermarket (disgrace of a service).

I created an account on Trust Pilot to share my experience using PostageSupermarket. I spent time writing a fair and balanced review of my experience to contribute to the consumer community. I provided the transaction receipts to Trustpilot within an hour of submitting the review. One week has passed and my review has still not been reviewed. It appears that negative comments are not Trustpilots top priority for their back office resource (as Trustpilot is a service which these companies pay for).

I have wasted my valuable time registering, writing the review, submitting receipts etc. What is the point!

One week is a disgrace in my opinion. Like many people have observed; Trustpilot reviews will be skewed if this is common practice.

Eventim-Competitive company for affordable tickets

Eventim was a great website to use as the step by step process wasn't rushed like on other sites.i felt my booking choice was reassured by the great prices not only for the tickets but the processing and booking fees.i know this company is reputable and felt confident my tickets were in safe hands, they also arrived very quickly via post. I would trot ally recommend using Eventim to anyone and certainly will use it again myself in the future due to my great experience!

I didn't want an account, I just reviewed a product. No unsubscribe button on the emails. NO obvious way to close and leave account or update email preferences. This website stops consumers like me from rating products in the future

INCOMPETENT MUPPETS

After being accused of making up a review, which was untrue, I was asked to forward proof of purchase, which I duly did. I could not quite understand it when I was asked to send a screenshot of the email I'd forwarded instead as oddly enough, the original email wasn't good enough (but a photoshopped copy would be fine...er der....)
So I sent the copy only to be asked by Trustpilot to resend with evidence of who had sent me the mail! In the mail was the company name, employee name, company address, phone number as well as logo. In addition was the order date, details and also the order number. I fail to see what was wrong with this information. TrustPilot also insist on sending me the same mail over and over within seconds of the previous mail...it really is beginning to grate. The last ridiculous occurrence is that they ask me for proof of sender, but fail to put any of these details in the mails that they send out! Unbelievable....Bet this doesn't get printed either.

I have provided the evidence, several times in several formats. I have been required, as Ben (the reviewer I responded to below) has, to jump through several hoops. Each time I give the information required, it is not good enough (according to Trustpilot) and the SAME information, already provided, is requested again - but the data is never checked (e.g. phone the company, check the tracking data - a 2 second job). For example, you asked for proof of purchase, so I forwarded the exact email containing name of company, address, phone number, order number, order details and a name on the email of the person who had sent the email, along with an email address, website address and company logo. I even sent the tracking number which could have been checked on the site of the delivery company causing the problem. None of this evidence has been deemed good enough!

I was then asked to send a SCREENSHOT or PDF of this information as (Trustpilot says) an email can be doctored. Would you mind explaining to me how a PDF or screenshot cannot be doctored, where an email can? Send me a PDF and I'll doctor it for you. The same can be said of a screenshot. How come a screenshot of what isn't acceptable suddenly becomes acceptable? Is this starting to sound ridiculous to you, because it does to me.

Why haven't you called the Company A in the information I have given to verify my order and to verrify that it was eventually delivered (as the email confirms) by Company B (which is the company I am complaining about). I have incidentally left a glowing review of Company A. Of course I cannot provide documentary evidence of the transaction between Company A and Company B as that was a transaction between them, not me but Company A clearly proved in the information I sent you that Company B was responsible for the lack of delivery for my item - which was what my offending review was about.

As for the delivery company in question, as a result of this fiasco, I have now gone onto several other review sites and left equally damning reviews of them on there - so they haven't achieved anything in trying to get my review removed. If anyting, they have made it worse.

If you want to act as mediator, then a review ought to be removed only when evidence cannot be presented, not prior as you are doing.

and finally...you ask for evidence of the name of someone who sends emails as evidence, why then when your company sends emails, do you not sign them off with a name??!

UPDATE 2: 15 April 2014

I am having to edit my original post as my comments had to be removed when I realised you cannot comment on this site using the Trustpilot ID, only your facebook account - which of course has my real full name on it. (Trustpilot suggested I change the name on my facebook account...ho hum).

, I have now been asked to provide evidence of the transaction which existed between Company A and Company B! How can I do this when I was the 3rd party?

On 4 April 2014, I gave you the TRACKING number for Company B (provided to me by Company A in an email) , why didn't you just put that on the city link tracking site? If you do, you'll see it shows the date and time the item was finally delivered - and my SURNAME. I can do it and screen shot it, but screenshots can be tampered with!!

Will you now want a copy (screenshot or PDF) of my birth certificate to prove who I am?????????

UPDATE 3 - 16 April 2014
I was told all the information I have provided to date isn't good enough. Nor are the screenshots of emails from my gmail account as they only show the email address from Company A and not the word FROM next to it....
Trustpilot have yet to call Company A to verify or type tracking into the website of Comapny B. They have now asked me to show the word "FROM" on my email and they will be happy.

I remain to be convinced...

So, I have now sent a new screenshot showing the word FROM, have enclosed the headers too, and then edited both screenshots and changed the email address to dougal@magicroundabout.com in order to prove how easy it is to fake the "unfakeable" evidence they so crave.

*sigh*

I'm off to do the gardening...and take my prozac.

UPDATE 4 - 17 April 2014

2 weeks after my review was removed and 2 weeks after I provided all necessary information, my review still has NOT been reinstated. I sent yet another copy of the information requested yesterday. I have been told to refer to this page on Trustpilot:

I have provided all this information 2 weeks ago and still this saga is ongoing. I am being told to provide the email with the FROM address shown (email address isn't good enough now apparently, it has to also say FROM). At no point on the TrustPilot support page does it mention that the email address has to be preceded by the word "From". So TrustPilot, update your guidlelines please to stop anyone else having to go through charades like this. I daresay most would have given up by now - and poor companies reporting reviews are banking on that happening. I am not giving up.
