Rude, Obnoxious and Downright Disgusting!

So ordered a takeaway on Just Eat on Tuesday - thought id try somewhere new so tried 'Perfect Kebab & Pizza' in Littlehampton as it was 20% off - thought bingo on to a good deal here! Confirmation email stated it would be there by 7.40pm - got to 8pm nothing had arrived so tried to call the restaurant who firstly didn't pick up the first time - when they picked up on the second try a very obnoxious rude man on the other end of the phone said 'Its coming, Its coming' and then hung up on me - not amused i contacted just eat via their live chat - the girl said oh i will contact the restaurant for you - whilst she was away get a phone call from the driver who said why arent you answering your door, come and let me in. Turns out he had been trying to deliver to the WRONG ADDRESS!!! - Got the food at last and went to unpack it for my burger to be cold - so i had to microwave it!! Tasted disgusting and then Just eat said the manager wants to offer me a free bottle of drink on my next order for the 'INCONVENIENCE!!' - needless to say absolutely disgusted with the service and definitely wont be ordering from them again!!!!

Really disappointing!!

We ordered a take away at 4pm and the checkout screen suggested this would be delivered at 4.50pm. When nothing was delivered, I checked my email and discovered that no confirmation email had been delivered. Having checked back on the website, the order was still showing in my basket. I assumed I hadn't checked out properly. I called the take away to double check and after 15 mins of continuously trying but getting no response, I gave up. We ordered directly from another take away, only to then have the original take away turn up at 5.40. I tried to get them to take it back, but of course they didn't. I'm wondering how just eat can justify not providing any form of receipt as they say they will do on a confirmation email yet still take your money. The food was disgusting as well!! Really disappointed. I know I should have double checked more thoroughly but I would expect just eat to actually confirm before they debit accounts

Disaster, absolute disaster you cant make this up

I have had to delete my old review because as bad as the last experience was, this is even worse

Just over a week ago, i ordered from peach pear cafe in leeds, put through the payment on my card, an hour later i am told `order cancelled`
huh??

`Not to worry we wont claim the funds, youll have the money available, in 3-5 days` said the person on the fone
ERM, no, with nationwide visa its 7 days. a lot different than 3-5 days dont you think

Anyway i checked my account yesturday, and guess what .. just -eat claimed the money two days ago, ie there was nothing pending to go back into my available balance
Emailed them, and they said this

I've had a look and can see the order was cancelled on our system by the agent you were in touch with, however they didn't check if we had captured the funds from your account. For this I apologise as this should have been done.

I've sent a refund request to our admin team. I know you don't want to hear this but I'm afraid it's going to take about 3-5 working days for the funds to reach your account.

It was a genuine mistake made by the agent so they will need to be re-educated on this process. This doesn't disregard the fact that you've been let down so I'd like to make it up to you by offering you a £10 voucher as I wouldn't want this experience o lessen your view of JUST EAT.

Let me know if you're happy to accept this and I'll send it out to you.

Now, let me tell you about how their sneaky vouchers work, they are not immediate credit, if you make an order for more than a voucher, it actually takes the entire payment for the order from your card, holds it and then a week later puts back into your account the credit for the voucher... not falling for that trick again.

Either way, it is unacceptable, to wait a week, and then to be told `our bad give us another week` is just downright unexcusable

I dont want their `voucher` i dont even feel i could ever use just eat again

All i want is my money back
Even if their systems only allow them to to it this way, surely given the circumstances, their head office instead of issuing it as a voucher, can put it directly via faster payment back into my account

You telling me no office from a multi million dollar company has the power to do that

Either way absolutly disgusted
and when they tell you its not our fault, its the bank that pre authorises your money, that is a direct pull of the wool over your eyes, because they should NOT be pre-authorising your money/ sending a request to the bank to reseve the funds until they 100 per cent know the order will be accepted

Ordered from them lots before, but won't be doing again

The same as others I'm stuck here with an order that I'd got an order number for, but no takeaway an hour after I placed the order. When I've called the restaurant they told me Just Eat had the same problem yesterday, but they can't send the food as they have no order. Just Eat's phone lines and Live Chat were down, and it took 2 hours after I'd placed the order for them to reply to the email I sent saying that they had preauthorised it and cancelled it, so "The time the funds take to appear back in your available balance is solely dependent on your bank's policy for cancelling the reservation, however, it usually takes about 7 working days, but is entirely dependent on your bank's policy. Some banks do have policies that can take up to 30 working days. " . So now thanks to Just Eat I've got money I can't spend until the bank release it maybe 30 WORKING days later and no food, but I guess that's ok because "On behalf of Just-Eat we apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused you." .

I'm sorry to hear you encountered this problem using our service. We were experiencing a tech issue on Saturday and our team have worked flat out to resolve the issue, and we're doing everything we can to make sure that it doesn't happen again!

We are aware of the authorisation process and the negative effects it may have on the few orders that are not successful, but there are alternative options available if this annoyance does occur. We can arrange for the funds to be captured and for a voucher for the full amount to be created that is ready to spend there and then.

So essentially you don't have to wait for the authorised funds to go back into your balance if this doesn't suit you.

After an hour the takeaway inform me they haven't even started cooking

So I have waited patiently for an hour after ordering through just eat (which I have many times before) from a take away (I have ordered from before) bit tonight they decide just eat orders are second best and after waiting an hour before I call them I am informed they haven't even started cooking my food. We'll keep it!

Have your hunger managed professionally!

I want to make sure that my order is being managed by professionals and I do not want to encounter any problems on the way of delivery - and that is why I love Just Eat! I did not have any problems in any terms so far, and will be keep using it for sure.

Charged to pay by Debit card!

No complaints whatsoever with the food or service from the restaurant. BUT, I have always paid cash on delivery in the past and tip the delivery driver. Last night I paid by 'DEBIT' card and got charged 50p for the privilege, that's NOT good. It isn't about the money, it's the principle. There's no need for it.
Won't be using again.

Terrible

Chose one of the highest rated places on just eat. They didnt deliver anything. Complained on the chat system and they spoke to the pizza place who are adamant I took the food.
Just eat then removed my negative review of the pizza place.

Consistently dissappointed

We had always used filmybelly.com for ordering take away food, simple and easy to use, able to tell which places offered meal deals and special offers. Ever since it was taken over by just eat and we have had to start using just eat we have found
It less user friendly, and you have to pay to use your card, also when we have ordered food, it has consistently been more than 20 minutes late, the last 2 orders from different places being over 50 minutes late.

I REFUSE TO PAY 0.50 TO USE MY DEBIT CARD !!.. JEEZ

Ok so I have never used Just Eat before, but I felt lazy and wanted something from my favourite takeaway. I chose my items, I needed to spend over £5.00, ok no problem, then I pay £2.00 for delivery, ok that is fine too.... then I create my profile and click next to pay... then Just Eat try to slap on a 0.50 CHARGE because I'm paying with my card, it doesn't matter what card you are using, it is always a 0.50 charge !!! ... uh uh, no WAY! ... these companies take people for a ride and we need to all stand up and say NO, I WILL NOT PAY TO PAY FOR MY PURCHASE !!!... do you know how ridiculous that sounds, they want you to PAY TO PAY FOR YOUR PURCHASE !

I exited the site and said stuff it, I'm not that hungry, I'll have a bowl of cheerios, thanks, wont be using the site again.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I understand your concern with regards to the payments online, however it appears there is a misconception on how these payments have been arranged. For example, the 50p charge is the transaction fee you pay when choosing to pay by card online. If you choose to pay by cash there is no transaction fee as the payment is not processed via another source.

just eat a good idea

Just eat is a very good idea and works very well.
Just a shame the China Wok take away delivered the wrong meal. But not just that! It was a disgusting brown sludge. I complained to you and to China Wok. I asked for a new meal or a refund. I got nowhere with you both!! That's not good customer service.

I again exspect I will get no response yet again.

getting a take away just got even easier

Such a good site. Has full menus of all local take aways in your area which makes picking what to have easier you could even order from a few at once and have a feast. The option to pay by card straight away or cash on delivery is just brilliant. On the days when we really can't be asked with cooking this website is the first place we go.
